Story
Lilly arrived at NCCR on 11/23/24, rescued from an overcrowded shelter that ran out of room for her. She is an approximately 2-year-old spayed female Labrador Retriever mix. We’re told that Lilly gets along well with cats, children, and other dogs, and is very friendly with people. She is a big girl at 64 lbs. – more of her to love! Lilly is young and active, so she will need a family that can provide plenty of daily exercise and play to keep her healthy and happy.  More info to come as we get to know her better. Update 12/5 from her foster home:  She is house trained and doing great now that she's learned the schedule. She is HIGH energy and strong, and can get overly stimulated/reactive outdoors - cars, wind, critters, etc. But she's excellent indoors where things are calmer. Doing well with 2 resident dogs. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application found on the website at caninerescue.org.  *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028

Story
Oro is a 4 year old Lab mix weighing around 60lbs. He is sweet, quiet, and very food motivated which should make training a breeze! Oro is very dog friendly and will feed off of the other dogs energy, so he’ll play if they’re up for it but is also happy to just co-exist with another pup. He LOVES cats and will want to approach and say hi, but otherwise leaves them be. He is crate trained, and potty trained when kept on a consistent routine. Oro came with the last round of the KY hoarding dogs that TLC Rescue saved and he’s looking forward to finding a forever family! His only requirement is a crate when unattended because if there is food, he will find it, Oro is fully vetted and ready for adoption, but you can always try our foster-to-adopt program if you want to make sure he’s the perfect fit for you. If you’re interested in adopting Oro or getting pre-approved for any of our other dogs, please fill out an adoption application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Happy Harvest, affectionately known as Harvey or Santa's Little Helper! This sweet and playful guy is ready to find his forever home. Harvest is a charming mix of who knows what, giving him a unique style—his ears are adorable and quite the conversation starter, and he sports a fun little tail that will surely make you smile!  He is listed as a lab mix on his paperwork but we don't know about that.  At just 1 year old and weighing 25 pounds, he’s the perfect size for cuddles and adventures. Harvey is a sweet dog who made the journey to us from Texas, and he's adjusting wonderfully to the snow and cold! He has a blast running and playing in it! Currently, he enjoys the comfort of a fully fenced yard at his foster home, so he'll need one in his forever home too due to not being leash trained.  While Harvey isn't quite leash trained yet and wasn't thrilled when we tried to work on that, it's a skill that can be developed with love and patience. The good news is that he’s crate trained! Harvey gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to snuggle up with them for cozy naps. We haven't had the chance to see how he interacts with kids, but we’re optimistic that he would do just fine!  With his playful spirit and eagerness to please, we just know that Harvey will bring so much joy to the right family! Harvey is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2024, 4:47 pm

Story
Rickey is a wonderful loveable goober who would need regular walks and lots of love. He is friendly but because he was kept locked up in a small area he tends to get frightened of strange noises. He would do well in a home with older children. He used to live with his brother so he probably would do well with another dog but not cats (he might think they are a squirrel or something). He loves toys and long walks and is a good boy overall. He currently has a trainer that is teaching him sit and other commands which he learns quickly. Hoping to find Rickey a permanent and loving home as his family will be moving out of the country.
