Story
Caesar is a bright and sweet boy of about 2 years old that is hoping to get right back into a great home. Caesar is a lab mix that was turned in, along with his brother, when their family moved and couldn't take them along. Caesar and his brother didn't always get along. Caesar doesn't seem to be a huge fan of other dogs but he did live with cats and kids, and is fine with them according to his former family! Caesar isn't enjoying shelter life but once he gets away from the kennel, he relaxes and is so affectionate, and he bonds with people quickly. He stands on his hind legs and gently leans on you to get all of your attention, and you're his new best friend within seconds. Caesar is great on a leash, housebroken, he sits when asked and takes treats gently, and doesn't have a ton of interest in toys. Caesar is a little guy of just 36 lbs. that would fit perfectly into your home, wouldn't he? Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#74513 7/28/24

Story
Faith is going to be so happy to meet you! She's about 3 years old and this lab/pit mix just loves to make new friends! She has no shyness about her. How on earth she ever came to be abandoned in a city park is beyond us, but maybe it had something to do with a neglected skin condition that she had. She was an itchy mess when she arrived but she's looking and feeling a whole lot better these days, and she should be kept clean and itch-free going forward! Faith definitely had training in her former home. She walks by your side on a leash like she's been doing it for years now. Faith sits when asked and was also taught to speak so once she sits, she starts talking about why she's just sitting there! She's full of personality, she loves to run and play, and she's gentle with taking whatever you give her. Faith seems happy to meet dogs her size too. She seems a little too intent on cats for comfort though. Faith has a lot of faith in you, that you'll be coming to get her soon. Don't let her down! Story
Kojak is a big ol' bundle of fun! This mostly-Lab mix is only about a year old and he's a big puppy in a large dog's body. He was abandoned on someone's property and we simply can't understand how anyone would want to give up this lovable lug. Kojak is super-duper friendly and greets everyone he sees as if they're his long-lost best friend! Kojak may be big and strong, but he's so innocent, puppyish, and sweet. He walks well on a leash with proper direction, and Kojak has had training. He sits, stays, gives a big pawshake, and lays down when asked. He's gentle taking what you give him and he's a gentleman with his toys and such too. Kojak will even stand and spin for a treat! He's a people-pleaser and friend to all, and he even enjoys meeting other dogs too. Kojak is an all around perfect family dog that would love to join the best family ever! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org to meet him. File#73650 6/24/24

Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  5-6 years old.  53lbs. Great dog who can into an overcrowded shelter as a stray.  He is dog friendly and currently hangs out with Luna here.  He just needs basic obedience because he never had any!  He is strong so needs to work on his leash manners.  His is very energetic even for his age!  George is looking for an active home with a fenced yard and a commitment to obedience class.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.October 3, 2024, 3:14 pm

Story
We got Evie in Florida from the shelter. We lived there last year. She was three months old when we got her in January. She’s got a lot of energy and would love to go for run or bikes with somebody. She gets along with my dog, but my dog is old and I have to keep them separated a lot because Evie just jumps on her and wants to play with her 24/7. My cats get along with my other dog, but Evie is in their face, and they do not like her at all and his and swat at her constantly. I just feel bad that I have to crate her so much because she doesn’t get along with my other animals and honestly, she’s a bit like a toddler where you cannot take your eye off her because she just gets into everything. She is so lovable and we do love her, but it’s just not a good home for her. She’s very intelligent and is potty trained.
