Come visit me at PAW!Adoption fee $490 THIS ANIMAL IS NOT FIXED AND WILL BE ADOPTED OUT ON A SPAY/NEUTER AGREEMENTOnyx has shown possessiveness towards her food while at the shelter. We recommend her new owners work with her on these behaviours so they do not escalate.Puppies are irresistible, who can say no? Before you commit to bringing a puppy into your home please take into consideration puppies need a lot of time, patience, training, care, mental & physical stimulation, as well as veterinarian care. We recommend you do research on the breed of puppy before adopting to ensure it will be a good fit for your family. Before the arrival of your new puppy we have some tips to ensure a smooth transition into the home.-Puppy proof your home. Block off any nooks or crannies, put away electrical cords, and remove anything you don’t want your new puppy to chew on or get into.-Pick out any supplies you would like to get for your new puppy like appropriate toys, a crate if you’d like to crate train, food, etc-Don’t overwhelm your puppy on day one. Pick a place the puppy can be comfortable and safe in to adjust to his/her new home!Once your puppy is settled, expect to see chewing, getting up to mischief, and having accidents in the home until they’re house broken. They do require more time, training, and attention than an adult dog but the joy of watching them grow and shaping them into a wonderful dog is worth the reward. And remember, what is cute as a puppy is not always cute as an adult!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. T-REX was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. T-REX is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, on 12 February 2024 weighed 89 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of January 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. The shelter volunteer stated T-Rex is amazing. Of course he was good on leash. He was still recovering from  being neutered today. Super chill all cuddles. Really great, huge gentle giant. He was out earlier so didn't potty in the yard, loose wiggly body, cuddles, smiles, kisses, belly rubs. A really wonderful dog.  (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. T-REX is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Link to the Adoption Application To look at lots more photo's be sure to check out our    Facebook Page ALBUMS    where we are able to upload hundreds of photos of our dogs waiting for their forever homes and families.
