Story
Come visit me at PAW - Adoption fee $390 - Hey I`m Boots... with the fur. I am a 7 year old lab mix. So I`m basically 1 at heart. (Don`t forget labs are forever puppies) I can be timid with new environments, people, and handling. Once I feel comfortable with you though you`ll get the biggest bum wiggles and the fastest tail wags. It typically doesn`t take me long! I would be a wonderful candidate to teach manners to, or even basic tricks. I am quite smart, I already know sit and shake. I was brought into the shelter with another dog, so my friends here figured I would be good with most dogs and guess what! I am! I do well with dogs AND cats! I`m just happy to be involved. I can be quite jumpy though so proper introduction is strongly recommended so I am not too overwhelming. I can be jumpy with my human friends too. As long as the kiddos (if any) know I may knock them over by accident I`m sure I could go to a home with people of all ages! I am so excited to find my place in someone`s home and heart.

Story
Come visit me at PAW - Adoption fee $390 - Hi, my name is Hunter! I am a young lab mix who is eager to start my training journey and wind up being the best boy in the whole universe! I will need help with my confidence, handling, stranger danger, and my jumpiness. I am treat motivated with the right treats so that will definitely help you and me! I am very happy-go-lucky most of the time, and LOVE to play! I am up for adventures outdoors, and I am looking forward to mental stimulation inside as well on those too chilly days. I would be best suited in a home with no children because I am fearful with handling, and meeting new people. We need to take things very slow. Someone who understands I will need time & patience would be perfect for me! I am also... well... don`t tell the other dogs... but... I am scared of cats. They just freak me out okay? You don`t know what they`re thinking, they`re super quick to react, and that hissing they do... not normal. I want a home with no cats please. They scare me way too much. Dogs are okay if they have the same type of energy I do. I am picky when meeting new friends so an interaction before going home with any dogs is what needs to happen for sure. I am looking forward to the future and finding my perfect family that will take their time with me, get me the training I need, and keep me active! I am super optimistic I will flourish in the right setting!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.SPIKE was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought his mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. He was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with his siblings, his mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. SPIKE was neutered on 25 September, he is current on his vaccinations, although he will require his rabies as he is currently too young for that vaccine. He is microchipped and at the time of his neuter surgery weighed 13.40 pounds. We do not know what breed he is mixed with, but can confidently say his mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. SPIKE is a young pup and so his personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how he behaves as he grows up. There is no reason for him to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make him fearful or hurt him. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. SPIKE will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing him to as many environments as possible, but in a way that he is comfortable, safe and happy. H is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands he will be teething, s=he will be going through his "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Spike has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
