The adoption fee is 350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.   Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.   *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2241911##

Charlie is very energetic dog who loves people. He sometimes forgets how big he is and can be a little clumsy. He has had basic training and excels at sitting, staying, shake, and spins. Walks well with a no pull harness however fetch is not his choice of playtime. He’s done well with children around toddler age and above, we just think he needs more attention

Story
Meet goofy Rex! He was born 7/24/24 and weighs about 39 lbs. He’s an adorable Shepherd/Lab mix full of playfulness and love. He’s a fun little pup that is outgoing and loves to explore, play with toys, chew bones and get attention from his people. Rex is hard at work with potty training but will need this reinforced in a new home. He is also learning how much fun the backyard is. He is crated trained, eager to learn, and a great snuggler. He loves other dogs and is good with kids. If you’re ready for puppy training and a forever BFF, please apply for Rex today at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org Baby Rex is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on preventives, and will be neutered by our vets when age appropriate. His adoption donation fee is $400.  PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! December 13, 2024, 10:35 pm

Story
Hey! Danny (DOB 9/21/2020) here! I am Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix who's looking for a new, active home. I have been with my foster family for a while and whereas they are pretty wonderful, I am ready to leave the nest and find my own place. I am almost 3 years old now and have outgrown the puppy-mouthing phase but still love some one-on-one snuggle time on the couch with my favorite human. My crate is a cool place to hang out in when my foster fam can’t take me in the car with them, especially when I have my special bone or a puzzle to work on to keep me busy. My foster dog siblings are cool to hang out with so a dog brother or sister would be okay although being an only (dog) child would be okay too. I'm okay with the felines if they leave me alone. And I am a little nervous meeting new people and dogs so apartment life still isn’t meant for me. New things can be a little scary but continual self-improvement is a lifelong goal of mine so who wants to learn some new things together? For example, I have learned car rides are fun and there are these things called drive throughs where people hand you yummy treats. I would love to find someone to explore some new places (i.e. drive throughs) with. I love to explore new places on walks too so we can get some exercise in together after visiting the drive throughs. Who's up for some new adventures? Before applying to adopt Danny, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Danny is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1107116##

Story
Hurley is a Chocolate Lab, b. Aug 2010.  Hurley is a great family dog and gets along with everyone.  He has lived in an apartment all his life, but loves to be outdoors and would really enjoy a yard with room to roam.  He loves tennis balls, bones and toys.  He does good with other animals.  Can you provide Hurley with his furever home? The suggested adoption donation for Hurley is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $300,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1808163##

Story
Terrified in a bustling kennel, quivering in a corner, bewildered by the situation, stood the endearing baby Armani. His moments seemed numbered, nearing what could have been his last hours. Thankfully, a compassionate Muddy Paws Volunteer intervened just in time, bringing him into her care. Serendipitously, luck was on his side. Born in July 2022, Armani is a Lab Mix now seeking a forever home filled with unconditional love. While initially timid and wary of new faces, he warms up quickly with patience and affection. Armani, the epitome of cuteness and affection, craves the company of his humans, whether snuggled on the sofa or frolicking outdoors with his toys. His happiness knows no bounds as long as he is by your side. Given his timid nature and ongoing journey to regain trust in the world, Armani would thrive in a child-free environment, preferably where he is the center of attention, and a fenced yard would offer him a secure space to release his energy. Preferring to be the sole canine, Armani revels in being the ruler of the roost. He displays remarkable intelligence, making great strides in his training, nearly mastering commands like Sit and Lay Down. To help ensure Armani has the smoothest transition into his furever home, he will require a couple of sessions with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers. Lucky for him, every dog adopted out through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue comes with lifetime free behavioral training with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers! The suggested adoption donation for Armani has been partially covered by a group of animal lovers who want to see Armani in a safe, loving home, his adjusted adoption donation is $150. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Koa came into SNAFU Rescue via a shelter release. To no fault of his own, Koa found himself Heartworm + and therefore was on the euthanasia list. SNAFU stepped in and made Koa a “friend” of the rescue and offered him the treatment he needed to kill those awful worms. Koa is an overly happy, smart, playful, active, social, loving energetic Lab. He is overly enthusiastic when meeting new people and thinks everyone is his best friend! You can often find Koa searching his foster home for his beloved bone in hopes one will be lying around for him to easily snag for a nibble. He fancies all toys, still learning all his favorites (no stuffies for this boy; he will immediately destroy them) and adores his chew bone whilst sitting on a soft comfy nibbling away. Koa can entertain himself for hours nibbling on his chew bones; he really hasn’t had much choice since he has been on strict rest during his treatment. Now that Koa has some limited activity added back to his day (versus NO activity) we know he would love a family that is willing to play with him (constantly) and introduce him to some new durable toys, hiking, and maybe even swimming too! Koa very much is the “people’s” Lab. He looks for his humans as he settles in for a snuggle session, belly rub, or just chilling in a comfy spot watching his favorite TV shows. After some cuddle time with his humans, you can occupy his time in the backyard with some backyard walks, some neighborhood watching, sniffing all the smells in the yard looking for his favorite sticks. When he isn’t following his humans around the house, you can locate him quietly exploring every inch of his foster home. He is quite smart, and curious, and wants to know where everything is so Koa must be supervised when wandering the home as he doesn’t know danger. Koa is still acclimating to pet life and will need firm leadership, and consistent correction to help him learn proper dog behavior, learn proper dog manners, and know what is expected in his adoptive home. He is extremely smart so we know Koa will be eager to learn and receptive to positive reinforcement. Koa absolutely gets along well with every human he meets (big or small)! He is a social butterfly and is very much of the opinion that humans > dogs. Koa’s foster family believes he would be best in a home with dog-savvy, gentle, children 5 years or older; this is not a hard/fast stop but he can get overly excited and his size and lack of proper manners could knock down the smalls. As mentioned, Koa favors humans over dogs but he does VERY well with other animals and would be okay with a furry pal and equally okay as an only pup. As with all of our dogs, we recommend slow introductions between dogs AND supervision around children when introducing a new dog in your home to make sure both he and they are kept safe. Koa is fully potty trained! He quickly picks up on things and does his business when he is asked. As with all of our dogs, any adopter will need to be able to and willing to offer him a consistent schedule and work with him on a proper signal for potty. Koa is fully crate-trained. He is crated when his humans are away from the home for work, errands, and at night as long as he has a safe chew bone to keep him company. Koa is a MASTER cuddle bug. He does so well in a human bed showing love to each of those he cuddles with. For his safety, we recommend a similar crating/sleeping schedule be kept for him. Medically, Koa seems to be in great health! He has been neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! As mentioned, Koa was diagnosed with Heartworms, received treatment, and tested Heartworm negative. He must receive a follow-up Heartworm test in one year. Koa would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard due to his explorative curiosity, his desire to run/chase things, and his nosey nature about the goings on of the neighborhood (as opposed to a multiple-floor apartment-style dwelling with no yard). Koa would do just fine in an apartment-style home (he is great with stairs) but his adoptive family MUST be committed to offering him 2x daily walks and plenty of exercise. Once he can be 100% active (October 1st) we know this boy will beg for exercise! He has so much energy to burn off and a large yard to run and play would be the best fit for this fun-loving boy! Koa enjoys a jaunt around the neighborhood to show off his mastered leash skills. He loves to get out and about to burn off some energy! We know he would thrive in an active home with lots of people to love on him, one with an overall busy family that can include him in all their adventures. We also think Koa would love to go to the office with his new family; he loves being everywhere his people are. Koa will need some basic training before entering an office environment but he is a quick study and will catch on fast! Even better, Koa would love a family that has a family member with a flexible home/work schedule as he desires to be around his people as much as possible! You can’t take him to the office or you don’t have the availability to stay at home all day- that’s okay! He would happily sleep the day away in his crate as long as he has a comfy blanket to lay his head on, and a safe chew bone to nibble on as long as his people can arrange a mid-day potty break for him. Ultimately, Koa is quick to make friends, super affectionate, playful, enthusiastic, and adorably social. He thrives in a structured environment where is offered outlets to burn off his energy. He is looking for a family that will guide him into proper dog manners/behaviors, including him in family activities, vacations, and day-to-day adventures. Koa will forever be a loyal, loving companion to any family! If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Koa, please submit an adoption application for him today!!
