Story
Meet Bert, a 4-year-old, 57-lb handsome free-spirit who truly goes with the flow. In Play Group, he’s the calm, cool, and collected dog who stays out of the drama. He’ll politely greet a few dogs, give a friendly sniff, and then wander off to enjoy his own little adventures. He’s respectful with other pups and appreciates the same in return. If another dog gets too bouncy or in his space, he communicates gently and appropriately. Bert is an independent explorer with a heart of gold. He has some hearing loss and may need a little patience with indoor habits as he settles into a new routine, but he’s smart and eager to learn. And while he’s mostly a do-his-own-thing kind of guy, he absolutely enjoys quick cuddle moments with the people he trusts.

Story
Meet Juniper: The Velvet Princess Juniper is the quintessential "gentle soul"—a sleek 3 yo 82lb Black Labrador with a heart of gold and a personality as sweet as the treats she adores. While she has the athletic build of a Lab, she firmly believes she was destined to be a lap dog. If there is an open lap within her vicinity, Juniper will gracefully claim it as her own. The Ultimate Family Companion Juniper is a dream in a busy household. She is exceptionally gentle with children and currently thrives in a foster home with kids aged 2, 4, and 9. Whether it’s a toddler’s chaotic energy or a 9-year-old’s playtime, Juniper remains a calm, steady presence. Unsure of experience with cats, but was friendly with the dogs at the shelter where she was surrendered. House Manners & Training She is a "polished" house guest who makes living together easy: • Potty Trained: Juniper is a professional communicator. She will politely wait by the door to let you know when it’s time to head outside. • Crate & Roam: She is fully crate trained, but she has earned her "roaming rights" too. As long as she gets a potty break before you head out, she is perfectly content to stay out and guard the couch while you’re gone. • On the Leash: She is a dream on the move, walking perfectly on a leash whether she’s in a harness or just a collar. The Three S’s: Snuggles, Snacks, and Sleep • The Quiet Princess: Unlike many of her peers, Juniper is a girl of few words. She rarely barks, preferring to communicate through soulful stares and gentle nudges. • Food Motivated: To say she is "food motivated" is an understatement. She knows several commands and is always eager to learn more—provided there is a treat or a good bone waiting for her at the finish line. • The Couch Connoisseur: Her favorite throne is the living room couch, where she spends hours perfecting the art of the afternoon nap. Juniper came to rescue a very pregnant mama and had her precious babies the very next day. She has taken the best care of them and now it is her turn to be the princess and get all the pets. Juniper is being fostered in Union MO Her adoption fee is $325 Apply at istodaymydayrescue.org

Story
Beatrix is a young spayed, 45-pound chocolate-colored lab mix with exotic yellow-gold eyes. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and leash-trained. Beatrix has a sweet and playful personality that comes across in everything she does! Don't be intimidated by her weight; this short little lady is only about 22 inches from the top of her shoulder to the floor. She loves life with such enthusiasm that she has earned the nickname BeBe Wiggle Butt since she wags her entire back end and tail when she's happy. Beatrix loves all people; with a proper introduction, she also loves other dogs. She currently resides with two foster sisters and two foster brothers, and she plays with them all day long. Beatrix is also a cuddle bug who loves the couch and putting her head on her foster mom's lap. BeBe Wiggle Butt has learned some basic manners such as sitting and waiting for her dinner or a treat. Treats are her absolute favorite thing in the world! Since she is treat-motivated, she can easily be trained by her adopters for a variety of commands. She already goes into her crate on command! BeBe would be a wonderful dog for an active family as she already loves hiking and swimming, and she would love you with every ounce of her being! Beatrix is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Due to some generous donations, her adoption fee is $100. Want to learn more about this wiggle butt? Fill out an adoption application at istodaymydayrescue.org, and one of our team members will contact you.

Story
Freya is a beautiful 4-year-old, 60-lb yellow Lab mix with the kindest soul and the most loyal heart. She spent far too long in a shelter, quietly wondering if anyone was ever coming for her. Now that she’s out, she’s ready for what she’s always deserved, a forever family. Freya is fully potty trained and leash trained, making her an easy companion right from the start. She absolutely lives for the outdoors whether it’s playing fetch (balls are her favorite!), splashing in the water, or just soaking up the sunshine. She also loves car rides and is always happy to tag along for errands, adventures, or road trips. She takes treats so gently, a little sign of just how sweet and respectful she is. Freya forms deep bonds with her people and is incredibly loyal once she feels safe. She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those who are calm and respectful, and would do wonderfully with a canine friend who matches her energy. Crates and kennels scare her, but the good news? She doesn’t need one. Freya does best when she’s trusted to relax and feel at home, she rises beautifully to that trust. Freya’s Perfect Home 🏡 • A fenced-in yard where she can safely run, play fetch, and enjoy the outdoors • A family or person who understands that trust and patience go a long way • A home where she can be kennel-free and treated as part of the family • Respectful dog companions are a bonus, but not required • Someone ready to offer stability, love, and a forever commitment Freya has waited patiently for her happy ending. She’s ready to give her whole heart to the person or family who chooses her. All she’s asking for now is a chance, a couch to curl up on, a yard to play in, and a forever home to call her own.
