Story
Hi there! I'm Pup, your future best friend. I'm an adult, but I've got the spirit of a pup! My heart is full of sweetness and friendliness, and I'm always ready to play. I've got smarts, too. I'm also energetic and love to go for walks or runs. I'm always up for a game of tug-of-war or chase. I can't wait to meet you and bring a whole lot of joy into your life. Why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to fill your days with laughter, love, and plenty of fun. Let's make memories together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2194580##

Story
Hello there, I'm Roman. The people who brought me to the humane society said my friend Feller and I were left behind. Therefor, I might be a little shy at first, but give me a moment and you'll see my sweet, gentle soul. I've always been the loyal type, sticking by those I care about through thick and thin. My intelligence is something that often surprises people. I can figure out puzzles quickly and I'm always eager to learn new tricks. I've had to be smart to navigate the twists and turns of life. Now, I'm looking for a new family, one that will appreciate my loyalty, gentleness, and intelligence. I promise to be the best friend you've ever had. Will you give me a chance? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
Most of you may already know me, my name is Honey!  I’m a pretty big deal around Needy Paws, quite well known!  I came up from southern Missouri with my ten puppies. Unfortunately I became very, very sick and almost lost my life!  I’m a mature girl, and far too old to be a momma.  I would definitely be more aged as a grandma.  The vet says I’m probably 10 years old, and have had a hard life.  You can say that again, 10 babies at 10 years old, is hard on the body!  I developed gangrene mastitis after suffering from a heat stroke, I was so ill I could no longer move!   With a great medical team, and the TLC from my foster momma, I have made a full recovery! I lost most of my mammary glands and my belly now looks like a road map, but what a story to tell with my scars!   I am told I’m the perfect dog!  Despite being in incredible pain, I rolled with flow, Daily bandage changes and trips to the vet!   I am quite spoiled and my foster mom says only the best for me!  I learned how great McDonalds cheeseburgers tasted after our vet visits!  I enjoy riding in the car!  I do not know a stranger- I soak up all the love and pets from everyone!  I like my dog friends I’ve made!  I enjoy going for walks when it’s not blazing hot.  I sleep in my foster moms bed most of the time and love to cuddle! I have incredible house manners and never potty in the house.   My foster momma says this is a bittersweet time for her!  Exciting that I made a full recovery and have a zest for life, yet she and I are thick as thieves!  She told me I deserve to be the queen of a castle and get an opportunity to be someone’s number 1! If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
Hello fellow dog lovers! This adorable guy needs a good home! His name is Ranger, he is 8 months old and he is reported to be a Lab/Mix from the center he was rescued from. With my work schedule and rental contract I'm not able to keep him much longer, let alone provide him the love, attention and stimulation he most certainly deserves... but really hate the thought of sending him back to the shelter he was saved from months ago. Ranger is very good with kids, other dogs and even cats! He loves to go on walks/runs and is house broken as well as crate trained! He has been great at learning new tricks and has a good recall. This is a VERY GOOD BOY! If you are able to add a sweet guy to your home please contact me, Thank you!

These pups are in Saint Louis, Missouri too!

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Ally - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hello...everyone out there!! My name is Ally and I'm here looking for a home, a family, one to call my very own. And since you're reading this, could it possibly be that it could be with YOU?!! I am around 3 years and am very loving, affectionate and ready for playtime. I love to be on the go exploring this big ole world and would do best with an active family that would want to include me in their activities and adventures, anything from the mundane daily to the weekend exciting. I love going for car rides and also meeting people, there's no strangers out there for me. So FYI, I'm just gonna come right out and tell you...our walks may take a tad bit longer as I love to greet everyone!! I come in at about 55ish lbs. A pawsomely perfect medium size for those long walks, nature hikes and of course those belly rubs I absolutely adore getting. I have that innocent spirit that loves living life to the fullest, that energy that loves exploring the world around me and that playful demeanor that finds joy in everything!! Oh and guess what?! I'm already house trained! We can get right to the fun stuff...right away!! I'm good with people both tall and small and other doggies! I would make a great playmate to either a 2 or 4 legged 'sibling' or a terrific sidekick as your one and only! But I do have to tell you that every once in a while I get a little excited and may accidently topple a wee little one. I am so looking forward to being your FBF (furry best friend), your constant in this world, your heart beat at your feet!! If I sound like a perfect match for your home and lifestyle please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. It can be found at haydudeequine.org
