Story
You can call me Vinny if you'd like! I came all the way from Texas where I was on the euthanasia list. These nice people saw my post asking for help and they saved me. I have the nicest foster family. It's because of them I am here. They really are taking the bestest care of me and say I'm really sweet. Here's what my amazing foster mom has to say 'bout me: He is very friendly and social and loves your attention. (He's a hugger but not in an aggressive way- I am working on telling him down.) He knows sit and is treat motivated so I bet he will love to learn more tricks. He comes when called and listens well. Walks well on leash and so far has kept his crate clean and no accidents. His tummy is going through some food changes and I am impressed he has not had an accident in my house- I am also being consistent on letting him out. He gets along with my dogs and is interested in my cat but backed off when the cat said no thank you! He slept in his crate the last couple nights, but he does cry in the very beginning. I think he just misses people, but he's quiet the rest of the night. No issues with my kids or their friends however, but he doesn't know his size so may need to be cautious around smaller kiddos. He is a bag of bones at 50 pounds right now so once he packs on some weight, he will be a pretty good sized boy. I gave him a bath and he tolerated it just fine. He does need a grooming to just sort of get his coat evened out, but I think his coat will be easily maintained after that. He doesn't have that real tight curl so regular brushing and an occasional groom will suit him. He gets up in the car easily and seems to want to ride, but I think he gets a bit spooked during. I think he will be fine after settling in, he has had a lot of trauma and traveling lately. He did great at vet today and was a friendly pal to all people and dogs!

Story
Pretty girl Lola was dumped in the country with one of her six week old puppies. This was several weeks ago, and the puppy has since found a home, so now it's Lola's turn! She is about 50 pounds and friendly with kids, dogs, and cats. She is potty trained and sleeps all night quietly in her kennel. She loves to cuddle, and would be happy to play fetch and run in the backyard (when it's not too hot!)

Story
Approx. DOB: 8/23/20                Approx Weight: 51 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Rocky is very sweet, a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He can be goofy and silly sometimes. He is housebroken and crate trained, however if left alone for 8+ hours in a crate he becomes very stressed and will have accident. He has been started on a anti depressant that really helps his anxiety when left alone. He is calmer now and has had no accidents since starting it. He gets along well with other dogs, but does not care for large male dogs that try to dominate him. He is a lover and really doesn't want to fight so he tries to bluff his way out of them. He has done well with children at our Petco events but there are no children in his foster home.  He will need a fenced yard and would do best with someone that works from home or has someone at home most of the time. Rocky is a love bug and really enjoys being brushed, snuggled with and just hanging out with the family. Rocky is going to make some family a wonderful companion. I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
