Story
**ADOPTION FEE FULLY SPONSOREDPugly joined the FFAA family with 5 other littermates at the tender age of 4 weeks. He had been found orphaned in a shed and had to be bottle fed! Now a healthy, strong, and energetic young dog who just had his first birthday at the shelter, he deserves to finally be chosen and have a home and family of his own. He's been here for over 365 days - almost his ENTIRE life save the first 2 months. Pugly is a black lab mix, and just like most black labs, he is full of bouncy and exuberant energy. Compound this with the eternal frustration and boredom of living in a kennel environment while you grow up, and you get a dog who has an explosive burst of excitement at the chance of getting to escape his kennel! However, especially lately as he ages and matures, Pugly runs out of steam in about 10-15 minutes (shorter if someone is playing fetch with him), making us think that once he is in a stable environment with regular attention and exercise, he will be a reasonably calm and pleasant family dog. He loves going on walks with volunteers, and he LOVES fetch and making new human friends. Kennel staff do our best to make Pugly's life the best that it can be no matter how long his stay lasts. However, we can all tell that he is eager to go out and explore the big wide world beyond the shelter -- the zest with which he lives and breathes ensures that every second that he will get to spend outside the 4 walls of his kennel or his short playtimes outside will be relished with a reckless and blissful abandon. Pugly is asking for one chance to make a connection with you and show you all of the potential that his eager and loving soul contains. Will you give him that chance?

Story
**ADOPTION FEE PARTIALLY SPONSOREDMr. Belvedere is a handsome young lab mix with a sparkling personality. If you like labs, you will LOVE Mr. B! Mr. Belvedere and his littermates were found at around four weeks of age. Thankfully, fosters bottle fed and cared for them until they were big enough to come back to the shelter. Now, it's just Mr. Belvedere and one littermate, Pugly, left over. They don't understand why their littermates all got to home but they're still stuck here, spending their entire puppyhood inside a kennel. Sure, they get to make friends and have lots of people who give them affection all day long, but it's just not the same as having a home and family of their own. Having just celebrated his first birthday -- and having spent over 11 months at FFAA -- Mr. Belvedere wants desperately to find freedom and a family of his own. Mr. Belvedere has adopted a policy of "holler first, investigate second"-- his big, booming "awoowoowooooo" seems ridiculous coming from a dog his size, and even more ridiculous is how once he's in touching distance of whatever he is yelling at, he quiets up immediately. Having grown up in a shelter, Mr. Belvedere is chronically bored. He loves his walks (his best opportunity to go stick hunting), and he is having a great time making new friends during playgroup. But he's a smart boy who knows that the world is a lot bigger than what he can see in front of him at the shelter. All his littermates but one (Pugly) have gone on to find wonderful homes with other dogs, cats, and children in their lives. All Mr. B needs is one chance to show you how good of a best friend he can be.

Story
His name may be spooky, but Jack Skellington is not! This little mixed breed boy was dumped at FFAA at the end of October, so we don't know much about him other than what we've observed ourselves. J. Skelli is a mild-mannered, affectionate, and submissive puppy who is eager to please. We are guessing he is going to be a medium sized dog; he's slender, leggy, and has adorable ears that can't decide if they'd like to stand up or flop over!

Story
Nami is a beautiful, young lab mix who has been in our shelter for over 100 days now. This girl is SO smart and would absolutely thrive in an active home with someone who enjoys training or going on adventures outdoors. Nami already knows sit, down, and shake, and she walks well on a leash too! She is still very young and has a lot of energy so her ideal person should be patient and understanding and willing to work with her while she adjusts to life outside of the shelter. She is so so sweet and very kennel stressed in our facility, we would love to see her get out of here asap!Nami has been patiently waiting for her forever family since July, and despite her sweet nature, no one has shown interest in her yet. This 2-year-old beauty was brought in by animal control after being found as a stray, and the shelter environment has been hard on her. She weighs about 40 pounds, the perfect medium size for snuggling, walks, and adventures! She adores people and is always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. She’s dog-friendly, indifferent to cats, and takes treats from your hand with the sweetest, softest touch.Nami deserves a life where she can truly shine, so if you’re ready to welcome an amazing companion into your home, please fill out an adoption application using the link below or come meet her in person during our open hours! She’s here, waiting for her second chance at happiness… could that be with you?Adoption Application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScbRHljwkHKaRSHgBuiT-m-SEsXLGHNRcfimGECvqxBeBSplQ/viewform

Story
Truman has been growing up in the shelter for far too long. Remember the 11 tiny puppies that were dumped in a container at Kellogg Lake? Truman is one of the last 2 pups from that litter that is still waiting to find a home. Him and his 3 other siblings have been at the shelter for over 200 days now (8 months). Puppies should never have to grow up in a shelter… They need families to love that can show them how amazing and beautiful life can be outside these shelter walls. It's beyond heartbreaking that they have never known what it feels like to be a part of a family. All they know is the busy, loud, stressful shelter environment. They deserve so much more than this. Please don’t let him continue to grow up here. If you can provide a loving home for him or any of his other siblings, please come meet these sweet babies during our open hours (Tuesday-Saturday 12-4pm). They are such lovable, sweet and very smart boys. You can also call the shelter at 417-358-6402 if you have any questions.
