Story
You can call me Vinny if you'd like! I came all the way from Texas where I was on the euthanasia list. These nice people saw my post asking for help and they saved me. I have the nicest foster family. It's because of them I am here. They really are taking the bestest care of me and say I'm really sweet. Here's what my amazing foster mom has to say 'bout me: He is very friendly and social and loves your attention. (He's a hugger but not in an aggressive way- I am working on telling him down.) He knows sit and is treat motivated so I bet he will love to learn more tricks. He comes when called and listens well. Walks well on leash and so far has kept his crate clean and no accidents. His tummy is going through some food changes and I am impressed he has not had an accident in my house- I am also being consistent on letting him out. He gets along with my dogs and is interested in my cat but backed off when the cat said no thank you! He slept in his crate the last couple nights, but he does cry in the very beginning. I think he just misses people, but he's quiet the rest of the night. No issues with my kids or their friends however, but he doesn't know his size so may need to be cautious around smaller kiddos. He is a bag of bones at 50 pounds right now so once he packs on some weight, he will be a pretty good sized boy. I gave him a bath and he tolerated it just fine. He does need a grooming to just sort of get his coat evened out, but I think his coat will be easily maintained after that. He doesn't have that real tight curl so regular brushing and an occasional groom will suit him. He gets up in the car easily and seems to want to ride, but I think he gets a bit spooked during. I think he will be fine after settling in, he has had a lot of trauma and traveling lately. He did great at vet today and was a friendly pal to all people and dogs!

Story
Pretty girl Lola was dumped in the country with one of her six week old puppies. This was several weeks ago, and the puppy has since found a home, so now it's Lola's turn! She is about 50 pounds and friendly with kids, dogs, and cats. She is potty trained and sleeps all night quietly in her kennel. She loves to cuddle, and would be happy to play fetch and run in the backyard (when it's not too hot!)

Story
Leo has a tough story that unfortunately we will never have access to every chapter to. He is a 4-5 year old Cane Corso mix. We think. He was in Wichita on the euthanasia list for heartworms. He received treatment last spring and is heartworm NEGATIVE!! He was found as a stray last February and his owner did not reclaim him. Leo has exhibited a fair amount of fear reactivity. He bonds hard with the right person but he needs a routine. Change can be upsetting for anyone but it seems to hit a sensitive guy like this harder than usual. He needs to know what to expect. Leo NEEDS to be able to trust that you know better than he does. If you're uncertain, he is too. Leo is big on the communication scale. He is extremely expressive with his body language, eyes, ears, face, noises. He's giving us a lot of hints that people who hold things up in his direction are scary. People that corner him are very scary. I can't say I blame him obviously but it's been a long road to get to know him and gather information. Leo is looking for a specific stubborn, strong willed, kind, understanding person with no kids or animals. He has been indifferent towards many animals but within the home he is very protective of his things. He loves car rides, couch lounging and to sun bathe in the backyard. I know this type of home is a STRONG reach so we need YOUR HELP!!! Share far and wide please, please! K911foundation.com/adopt  November 3, 2024, 9:07 pm
