Story
Approx. DOB: 8/23/20                Approx Weight: 51 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Rocky is very sweet, a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He can be goofy and silly sometimes. He is housebroken and crate trained, however if left alone for 8+ hours in a crate he becomes very stressed and will have accident. He has been started on a anti depressant that really helps his anxiety when left alone. He is calmer now and has had no accidents since starting it. He gets along well with other dogs, but does not care for large male dogs that try to dominate him. He is a lover and really doesn't want to fight so he tries to bluff his way out of them. He has done well with children at our Petco events but there are no children in his foster home.  He will need a fenced yard and would do best with someone that works from home or has someone at home most of the time. Rocky is a love bug and really enjoys being brushed, snuggled with and just hanging out with the family. Rocky is going to make some family a wonderful companion. I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Approx. DOB:  6/17/24    Current Wht(as of 8/29/24): 10pds Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness.          Matt , Mitt, Mike, Miles are brothers  Matt and his brothers were thrown out a car window on a 2 lane state hwy in a smaller town area (along with their mom and 2 other siblings who were rescued by his Samaritans). A woman witnessed this and got a description of the vehicle but could not get the license plate number because of trying to save the momma and pups.  These 4 little boys came to us with bellies full of worms , flea covered bodies and so thin. Thank goodness for the wonderful people that grabbed them all up. We were called about the 4 boys needing our help and of course we said yes we can help. Our supporters make this all possible.  Thank you!  All the boys are normal,  playful, loving little guys.  They have long legs,  tiny heads and they look like mini labs with their fold over ears.  It's really hard to even guess what their breeds could be. The caregivers of the 4,  think they won't get over 30pds...... of course this is just a guess. All the boys love to be held and cuddled. Matt can be the shyer one of the boys.    Get your application in for one or 2 of these precious little guys.   Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.   Meet Roxy!  Roxy is one unique girl who’s had a rough go being in our boarding facility for several years now, which is never good.  That said, her personality is still that of a smiley happy dog, who loves to go on walks with our volunteers.  Roxy was recently fostered in a home for the holidays where she did very well, having no accidents and behaving like an angel!  Roxy can be a little nervous and unsure of men, which just means men should give her time to familiarize with them, and respect her by moving slowly, and not acting like an idiot or aggressive (I’m a guy btw, I can vouch we are idiots at times).  Roxy needs someone patient, but once she connects with you, she will be your best friend and love you in the most special way.  If you think you are that unique opportunity for Roxy, she’s been waiting!    Approximate Birthdate:  Oct 2017 Adoption Fee: Roxy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Kansas City Crime Lab! TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.   For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org November 4, 2024, 9:18 pm

Story
Atwood is a playful three-year-old pooch who would love a quiet home to call his own. He spent some time in a noisy shelter environment and is so over that noisy chaos! All those dogs yap yap yapping all the time and all he wanted was a nap, darn it. He loves to pose for pictures and play with his toys, especially his stuffies. He would also like some peanut butter, by the way. Atwood prefers a peaceful existence in an abode with no kids and no other pets, please. Most of all, though, Atwood wants to be with people who love him. He's such a lovely, sweet boy. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info. Atwood is in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home, foster or permanent. #thepetconnection

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Meet Sabrina!  Sabrina is a pittie mix, and she’s a firecracker of energy who would make for a sweet companion for an active household.  She walks well on a leash, and she does simmer down once she gets some energy out. Her energy level is in part because she’s in a boarding facility where her time to play is always limited, so we believe she would settle into a home environment very nicely. Sabrina’s good with most other dogs but would would need some time to get used to sharing her home with another pet as she hasn't had to since being in our program. She does have a tendency to chase cats, so her ideal feline friend would be an older, more laid back cat.  She’s friendly with everyone, but as she can be so excited at times, she would be best suited for a home without very small children that she might knock over with kisses!  Sabrina wants to remind you that it’s not easy to find a home when you’re a black dog, and she would love an opportunity to meet you and melt your heart.        Approximate Birthdate:  July 2022 Adoption Fee:  My adoption fee is sponsored by a generous volunteer! Story
Want a total goofball in your life? One who also is practically certified in snuggling? You need to meet Beau! This handsome boy is great on leash, willing to work for kibble and/or praise, AND does his business outside. He's a gentleman in the house when left alone. All good stuff, right? Here's more good news if you have another dog in your life: Beau generally loves other dogs and was best buddies with the one he lived with in his last home. Now, Beau is a chill pooch who prefers a low-traffic, adult-only home, so he's not a great fit for someone who has a mini Grand Central Station going on in their house, but otherwise he can be pretty flexible. In addition to adding a really great guy to their lives, whoever takes Beau will get ongoing training support from The Pet Connection! To foster or adopt Beau, please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. He's in the Kansas City metro but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DogLover #KansasCityDogs #FosterDog #DogTraining #ChillPooch #GoodBoy #DogRescue
