Story
Hello this is Tobi. Tobi will be 7 in June. I am very sad to be writting this for him but I am no longer able to care for him due to housing situation. Tobi is very active so he tends to bite on things like kids toys or couches for example if he is very bored. I know Tobi is bored and needs more attention. Tobi loves walks and loves loves the dog park! During the summer I was able to take him out every other weekend but he deserves more. He was sent to a training camp for 2 weeks when he was 6 months old and he recalls most of it like heel, down, sit but he does need a bit of re training. He only uses the bathroom outside unless he is sick or someone doesnt not take him him out on time. Cage trained. Tobi needs someone as active as him and someone who has time for him. He grew up with kids so he does okay with them. Tobi needs patience as well. He has always been active and playful. Hes a sweet boy. If you have other dogs it may take him a bit to get used to it but he will!

Story
Meet Blitz! This 9 month-old Labrador mix is an ultimate goofball and lover looking for his forever family! Blitz is looking for a home that will allow him to meet his energy needs while giving him a safe space to cuddle at the end of the day. While a young guy, he’s made tremendous strides since being in rescue and is eager to keep learning how to be a dog!Blitz adores being around other dogs and is always game to play. He is very excitable when meeting new dogs in public and wants everyone to be his friend! He’s great at picking up on dog’s cues and meeting them at their level when interacting. Blitz has not done well around the cats he’s met so far and it’s not recommended he is around them long-term. Due to his breed and age, his prey drive plays a factor when interacting with smaller critters! As far as kids go, he’s a bit more hesitant than he is with adults but does okay. We recommend a meet and greet prior to adopting to a home with children and continued training with child interactions. He’s been doing well with crate training and spending time alone. He’s been known to let out the occasional bark or howl, so a home with shared walls may not be ideal but is still possible. He’s been used to a fenced yard and it would be a major bonus if his forever home has one too! Blitz prefers a medium to high activity level and will appreciate it if he can utilize a fenced yard to let off some additional steam.Blitz is a very lovable guy who learns very quickly! His ideal forever home will be one that’s dedicated to his continued training and can give him the daily enrichment and socialization he needs. If you’re interested in learning more about Blitz and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes his family will feel lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Tank is an 8-month-old male Lab mix who loves belly rubs! Currently weighing 55 pounds, he’s an affectionate, smart, and playful pup who loves being part of the action, whether it’s playing with squeaky toys, going on walks, or snuggling on the couch. When Tank joined his new foster family, he felt right at home! He immediately claimed his napping spot on the sofa, and all his favorite toys were carried into his kennel for safe keeping. Tank is house-trained, vocal when he needs to go outside, and crate-trained—he’s so comfortable with his kennel that he goes in on his own. Tank listens to commands like "kennel" and "sit," so learning a new routine will be easy for everyone. He doesn’t bark at strangers or doorbells, making him a great roommate, but still has some funny quirks like being absolutely convinced everything in your hand—especially if it’s edible—is for him. Tank adores meeting other dogs and cats because that means there's more playmates for him! He is always curious and playful without showing aggression. He’s been great with kids, including a 10 and 12 year-old, although he may need to tone down his excitement when he meets smaller children. If Tank could talk, he'd quote Ricky Bobby and say "I wanna go fast!" He loves long walks or runs (1–3 miles twice a day) and backyard play sessions with sticks or his favorite squeaky toys. While he doesn’t need a fenced yard, Tank would love one for extra playtime. If not fenced, he’s good on a tie-out and stays within boundaries when supervised. He’s low-maintenance when left alone, preferring to nap or watch squirrels, but he’d thrive in a home with another dog to play with! He’s ready to bring love and laughter to a forever home! Story
Stash is a sweet pup who loves people and other dogs. He gets along with everyone he meets, whether it is a child or a 5# puppy. He is so well socialized and nice. He and his siblings were born on September 20 to a homeless dog who sheltered under a deck to have and care for her puppies. A Good Samaritan started feeding her and made arrangements for her and her little family to come into the PUP rescue program. While mommy was certainly on the slim side, puppies were not. They arrived fat and happy. Mommy and Stash's story we featured on Christmas day in the Pioneer Press. https://www.twincities.com/2024/12/25/pooches-united-with-people-jeanne-weigum-dog-rescue-st-paul/?share=1rwiilw2s2opwsseuaer We believe Stash will be in the very large breed category when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on one of the litter and there are 19 breeds in his DNA including Shepherd, lab, Saint Bernard and Chihuahua. Yup. a mixed breed dog. Stash is house broken in his foster home. He is crated at night for 7-8 hours and 4-5 hours at a stretch during the work day. He will need to earn his adopter's trust in his new home. Puppy loves his outdoor time playing with the other resident pup and foster pups. Stash needs to go to a home without shared walls and with another canine. He briefly went to an apartment where he was the only dog and he was too noisy for comfort. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Stash has been vet checked, vaccinated including rabies, and de-wormed. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the neuter is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. Video link https://youtu.be/m1uLvJW2R7U

Story
Do you have time, space, and a fenced in yard for a big girl to run and play? That girl would be me, Willow! I`m a Labrador Retriever/Anatolian Shepherd mix female who is 12 years old. As you can imagine, I am a large and lovely lady, weighing 80 pounds. I came to Animal Ark from St. Paul Animal Control. The staff has found me to be a playful and friendly gal. It`s not known how I would do with other animals or children, so a meet and greet with another canine and the whole family would be in order. Because of my size and strength, I might be too much for small children. If you think you have the room and resources to care for me, let`s get to know each other!
