Story
Magdalena is not just any dog; she is a testament to the resilience and the unwavering spirit of a survivor. This beautiful 5-year-old Labrador mix has faced challenges that would have deterred many, yet her spirit remains unbroken and her heart full of love. Magdalena's journey has been a tough one. Due to a human-caused incident, she tragically lost one of her legs and, heartbreakingly, her puppies as well. Despite these hardships, Magdalena has shown incredible strength and determination to heal both physically and emotionally. The last picture was taken during her early healing stages, you can see her courageously taking each step forward, supported by her indomitable spirit. Today, Magdalena is fully healed and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life - one filled with love, compassion, and the security of a forever home. Her gentle demeanor and loving nature shine through every interaction. Magdalena adores human companionship and has a special affinity for belly rubs and leisurely walks. She is known for her playful antics and happy face. Magdalena's ideal home would be one where she is cherished as a member of the family and the only dog in the home. She does well with dogs her size or bigger but hasn't been around small dogs much and doesn't do well with smaller dogs. She has also never been around cats but given her reaction to small dogs, she probably would do best in a home without cats. She thrives on affection and is eager to return it tenfold. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or exploring the great outdoors, Magdalena is up for any adventure as long as she's by your side. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who has overcome adversity with grace and love, Magdalena is waiting to meet you. Help us give this incredible survivor the happy ending she deserves - a forever home filled with kindness, warmth, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Could you be the one to give Magdalena the loving home she's been waiting for? Reach out today to meet this special dog and discover the joy she can bring to your life.

Snapshot of Sabrina: Size? Still growing, most likely medium! Activity Level? I have lots of puppy energy! Noise Level? I bark when I play! Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Unknown Good with Kids? Yes! Good with Strangers? I can be shy at first but warm up fast Potty Trained? Almost there! Crate Trained? I'm a pro Shedding? Minimal About Sabrina: Hi, my name is Sabrina. I am shy at first, but once I learn the layout of my home and come out of my shell, I love to play! I am teething right now, so chew toys and rope toys are my favorite (and shoes, but my foster parents don't let me chew them)! I get random bursts of energy and then love to lay around with my foster family. I enjoy going outside to sniff and explore my surroundings. I don't shed a lot right now, but that could change as the seasons do and I grow out of my puppy fur. I currently live with a lab puppy and older small dog. The lab and I play great! I leave the smaller dog alone because she doesn't like to play like I do. When I am around cats I am cautious, and don't play with them much but like to watch. I am also great with kids! I am shy when brought to new places or meeting new people. New people often call me "calm and "quiet, but my foster parents know that I can be spunky and occasionally bark when playing with friends. Overall, I am sweet and curious. I am fully crate trained, and go in when told "kennel, but I am still working on getting fully potty trained. My foster home uses bells and I learned those quick, but use them to go outside and hangout more than a signal I have to pee. If brought out often, I don't have accidents. I love food and am very food motivated. I will "sit on command, and especially for a treat! I would do great in a home with another dog my size (medium or large) who can keep up and wrestle with me. I would also love a yard to explore, or somebody that will take me out on walks often. I need somebody active that will be patient with me as I am teething and still learning to potty outside. I can't wait to meet you! Sabrina is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. Adoption Fee: $600 + applicable tax Training Requirement: Obedience Level 1 Required MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! Snapshot of Trixie: Size? I'm still growing but most likely medium. Activity Level? I have lots of puppy energy! Noise Level? Sometimes I whine when you leave but I'm generally very quiet. Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Yes Good with Strangers? Yes, I just need a bit of time to warm up. Potty Trained? Almost there! Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Minimal, but this may change once I grow out of my puppy fur. About Trixie: Hi, my name is Trixie! I am a 6-month-old puppy with a ton of personality already. I am a sweet girl who loves attention and will give back affection. It takes me a bit to feel comfortable around people but once I'm used to them, they will be my forever best friends. I enjoy playing all the time and love going on adventures on a leash. I usually get the zoomies when I'm playing and I am a huge fan of tug-a-war! I'm perfectly fine with both dogs and cats, and people of all sizes! I'm still working on becoming potty-trained and I've improved so much and haven't had many accidents in a while. My crate is my safe spot and I enjoy sleeping in there when it's time for bed. I usually sleep through the night and am very well-crate-trained. Although I dont like when you leave and might whine hoping you come back. I'm a growing girl and I have a normal appetite for a puppy of my size in order for me to play the games I enjoy! My most favorite thing to do is to be chased around with a toy in my mouth as well as tug-a-war with other people or dogs! When it is time to settle down, I can become relaxed and ready to snuggle up on the couch next to someone. The perfect home for me would be a big yard in order for me to run around in. A fenced in yard would also be ideal so I can be off leash and free to roam around! I also wish to have a family with people constantly around so I'm not alone. I still need to work on being fully potty trained, so having people around all the time with patience will allow me to learn and become your best friend! Trixie is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. Say hello to Cici! This adorable pup is a 6 month-old Shepherd mix, weighing in at approximately 30lbs. Cici is looking for a home to call her own where she can be her playful self while learning how to be the best dog possible!Cici loves to be around other people and dogs! She loves the teenagers that she lives with currently, and due to her gentle nature will likely do well with younger children. She is curious and friendly when meeting other dogs and would do great with a resident pup in her forever home. We aren’t sure how she’d do around cats, and a meet-and-greet may be necessary prior to adoption.Cici is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys taking naps in her crate and does in the crate when home alone. She may whine or bark for a minute when put in the crate but settles down quickly. For this reason, she’d likely do well in a home with shared walls given the right fit!Cici prefers a medium to high level of activity. She adores playing fetch and is doing well learning recall. She aims to please and finds training a fun game given treats are involved! She’d appreciate a fenced yard to burn off extra energy, but this isn’t a requirement. She’d do best in a home where her people are dedicated toward giving her a steady activity routine.Cici is the sweetest girl who’s eager to find her forever family so she can continue developing into the best dog possible. Whoever becomes her forever family will feel lucky to have her! If you’re interested in learning more about this adorable pup, fill out an application using the link below!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Say hello to GusGus! This 1 year-old Black Labrador Retriever is one that will be sure to steal your heart! If you are looking for a dog who believes he is half fish, look no further! Water is GusGus’s favorite thing in life and, as long as he’s got a puddle to play in, he’s not hard to please. This sweet boy has had quite the journey since coming into rescue. GusGus is completing his recovery from an orthopedic surgery on his shoulder to mend a congenital condition that was affecting his growth and mobility. Fret not, this surgery was able to resolve this condition and GusGus is returning to normal activity. Long-term, GusGus will be happy to have regular exercise, but high impact activities such as hunting aren’t ideal. Due to GusGus’s size and activity requirements, it’s ideal that he have access to a fenced yard.Despite this obstacle, GusGus has made great progress in training and has blossomed into a very good boy! He’s full house-trained and knows how to let you know he's gotta go! He’s crate trained and does well at night and when home alone. He’ll bark on occasion if he’s in his crate and knows people are home. He wants to be a part of the action!GusGus does great with other dogs and enjoys their company, whether that includes playing or cuddling on the couch! We aren’t sure how he’d do around cats, but given his gentle nature he’d likely do well with a dog-savvy cat. As far as kids go, he loves to play and snuggle with them but has to be reminded of his size from time to time. This boy has a heart of gold and is ready to meet his forever family! If you’re interested in GusGus and would like to learn more about how he’d fit in your home, fill out an application using the link below.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Blitz! This 9 month-old Labrador mix is an ultimate goofball and lover looking for his forever family! Blitz is looking for a home that will allow him to meet his energy needs while giving him a safe space to cuddle at the end of the day. While a young guy, he’s made tremendous strides since being in rescue and is eager to keep learning how to be a dog!Blitz adores being around other dogs and is always game to play. He is very excitable when meeting new dogs in public and wants everyone to be his friend! He’s great at picking up on dog’s cues and meeting them at their level when interacting. Blitz has not done well around the cats he’s met so far and it’s not recommended he is around them long-term. Due to his breed and age, his prey drive plays a factor when interacting with smaller critters! As far as kids go, he’s a bit more hesitant than he is with adults but does okay. We recommend a meet and greet prior to adopting to a home with children and continued training with child interactions. He’s been doing well with crate training and spending time alone. He’s been known to let out the occasional bark or howl, so a home with shared walls may not be ideal but is still possible. He’s been used to a fenced yard and it would be a major bonus if his forever home has one too! Blitz prefers a medium to high activity level and will appreciate it if he can utilize a fenced yard to let off some additional steam.Blitz is a very lovable guy who learns very quickly! His ideal forever home will be one that’s dedicated to his continued training and can give him the daily enrichment and socialization he needs. If you’re interested in learning more about Blitz and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more!
