Meet Beau! This boy is a pure bred yellow lab who found his way to PCHS when he needed a change of scenery. Beau is coming up on 5 yrs old and is a big boy weighing over 100 pounds. Overall, this boy is a gentle giant. He loves to be with people and get attention. He walks well on leash and would enjoy being a leisurely walking partner. Beau was not getting along with the other dog in his original home and does not enjoy the company of other dogs. He would prefer to be the `one and only` in his new forever home. ***Beau would be best suited in a home as an only pet. He would also prefer a home with older kids or no kids as he does not always realize his size***If Beau sounds like he could be a good match for you, apply online today! Story
Meet Sam!This handsome young boy came to us through a valued rescue partner when he was found as a stray and never claimed. We do not know for sure what he is mixed with, but he may have some lab and/or collie mixed in. He is just over 60 pounds and is ready to find his forever home!Sam is full of fun and energy. He really enjoys being out in the fenced yard running, playing, and getting attention. Sam appears to be a herding mix breed and he would benefit from a home that has herding breed experience. This boy has an active mind and would love a `job` to do. Working on a hobby farm or doing agility would be ideal for him. Given his herding breed characteristics, he would do best in a home with teenage children or no children as he has been known to try to `herd` people. Sam does well with other dogs his size or bigger and enjoys playing/wrestling. He has lived with cats and done well but does not seem to be well suited for small dogs. Sam feels the most comfortable around women but can get along with men as well, he just is slower to warm up to them. Sam would make a great dog for someone who needs a herding dog on their hobby farm or wants to get into agility work! If you think Sam could be a good match for you, apply online today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Meet Rocco! ✈️🐾 From the beaches of Puerto Rico to the snowy trails of Minnesota, this adventurous pup is on a mission to find his forever home! Rocco is an energetic dog with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. He’s always ready to go for a walk, explore new sights, and soak up every bit of love and attention you have to give. Whether it’s a hike in the woods or just a jaunt around the neighborhood, Rocco is your go-to walking buddy. He does pull on the leash but is working on that. This sweet boy has already overcome a big hurdle—he was treated for heartworm and came through like a champ! To keep him healthy, Rocco will need to be rechecked for heartworms in September to ensure there are no new or residual worms after treatment, and he will also need to stay on monthly heartworm preventatives for life, but he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. Rocco is looking for a home with an active person or family who will embrace his playful spirit and keep him moving. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of gratitude and paws ready for adventure, Rocco might just be your perfect match. Rocco isn't a fan of his kennel and does bark, if you have shared walls. He would LOVE a fenced yard to run. Let’s help this island boy find his Minnesota happily ever after! 💙 Rocco would do best as the only pet in the home Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Saison is about 2 years old and already has an incredible story of resilience. She showed up at a home in northern Kansas, had a litter of puppies, and during her spay it was discovered she was heartworm positive. She bravely went through treatment and is now finished, happy, and ready for her forever family. Despite everything she’s been through, Saison has shown us glimpses that she may have once been someone’s beloved pet. She: - Walks nicely on leash (though she’ll need practice when seeing other dogs). - Hops right into the car and LOVES going for rides 🚗 - Is crate trained and housebroken - She does have a recall, she currently lives on 8 acres and will stick around unless a bunny or cat runs by. - Loves cuddling up in bed with her humans 🛏️💞 - Saison is wonderful with kids and adores people. She does well with most dogs, especially medium to large males, and would be happy in a home with or without another dog. ⚠️ A few things to note: - She cannot live in an apartment or townhome and that is because of her reactivity on a leash. She does have some leash and barrier reactivity that will need continued training. - She cannot live with cats or chickens. She was brought into our rescue because she killed chickens and she will try to kill the farm cat. She shouldn't be with small dogs, mainly because her pray drive is so intense we want small dogs to be safe. - Saison has been out and about on Mayo Clinic grounds, she's met staff and patients and loves them. Saison truly is a lover and while her barrier/leash issues need work, she is a sweet, sweet dog. 👉 As part of her lifelong care, Saison will need to remain on monthly heartworm preventatives and have yearly heartworm tests. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
With his big, soulful puppy dog eyes, Rick is impossible not to fall for. He has all the charm and sweetness you could ever want in a companion. When he is happy, his ears perk into little “heart ears,” as his foster mom lovingly calls them. He even has a “lucky paw,” just like Nemo’s fin. Rick is one of the absolute sweetest companions you could ask for. He is deeply bonded to his foster mom and dad, always waiting by the door for them to come home and following them everywhere. His biggest goal in life is simply to make his people happy. Because of past trauma from being kenneled, Rick does best when left out during the day. He mostly naps, but anything tempting to chew such as straws, remotes, or glasses should be kept out of reach. Rick can be nervous with new people and needs slow introductions to visitors. He is improving with the resident cats but still gets the occasional urge to chase, so dog savvy cats are best. He enjoys playing with dogs he knows and trusts, and his gentle, easygoing nature shines through once he feels comfortable. Because fast movements and unpredictability can make him anxious, Rick needs a home without small children. Rick is ready to bring love, loyalty, and plenty of cozy moments to his forever family. Whoever adopts him is one lucky human. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org .
