Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Lil Johnny has spent his first year in rescue and is wondering if he will ever find his forever home. Johnny is potty trained, kennel trained, neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. He is great with dogs, cats, and kids. Johnny loves with his entire body- when he is excited to see you, his whole body wags! Johnny knows sit and shake (and sometimes down). He loves to cuddle with you at night- often times with his head right next to yours on the pillow! Johnny will make a loyal companion and would love some kiddos to grow up with. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Candace wants what every dog wants: a safe and comfortable home where she can be loved and well-fed. Candace has come a long way since coming to Rescue Network. When she arrived, she had 6 puppies, a severe skin infection, 2 infected teeth, a growth on her head, and was severely underweight. Her skin has now cleared up, she has put on 25+ pounds, had 2 teeth removed, and 2 masses removed. Throughout her medical trials, she has continued to be a happy, friendly dog, who is done raising her puppies and looking to be a young excited lady living life to the fullest. She is a brilliant girl who is eager to learn more of her basic manners and will work hard when rewarded with a tasty treat. She can sit, does well on a leash, knows gentle, and is good with getting baths. Candace is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves playing with her toys independently and with her foster family. She is house-trained and kennel-trained. She does prefer her dog bed to staying in the kennel. When she gets bored she can chew up items, which happened when she was in isolation for her skin infection. Candace's foster home currently has cats; she does well with some and is curious about others. Candace could live with cats that is not bothered by dogs. She has met other dogs; however, tends to resource guard with food and treats so would do best as an only dog. Candace's forever home would have a fenced yard so she could run and chase her balls. She would love an active family that would take her on walks and other outings. She will need a family that continues to work on her training and resource guarding. Candace is also looking for a family that will look beyond her breed and know she has nothing but love and cuddles to give. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: St Francis, MN Hello! My name is Oliver :) I was rescued from wandering around a trash site on my own. I am a very sweet boy once I get comfortable around you. I love all of my resident siblings of all shapes and sizes, even the cats. Sometimes I'll chase them but if you tell me you "leave it" I generally move on and play with a toy or my resident dogs. I love to play, especially rough housing with the resident dogs but I'm also not opposed to lounging around and snoozing during the day. I will sometimes whine because I'm not sure what I should be doing if my foster moms are up and about or the resident dogs are sleeping but eventually I'll calm down and either play with toys by myself. I love to chew on stuff so I have lots of toys and I especially love bones. I am potty trained as long as I'm let out on a regular schedule or my foster moms pick up on my queues that I need to go out. At first I was pretty hesitant about my kennel but now I do very well overnight or when my foster moms are gone. I can be a bit shy around new people but I warm up pretty quickly. Overall I'm pretty low maintenance for a puppy but I think I would do best in a house with another dog or two as I lean on the resident dogs for comfort and guidance. My foster moms tell me I'm pretty cute and a little dopey but they say they love me so much already. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Buffalo, MN Noel came from a reservation so not much is known about her history other than assuming she was hit by a car which resulted in her needing to get her leg amputated. She is the sweetest, most playful girl that doesn't let her past get to her. She is great with little human kids, dogs, and cats. She is kennel trained and never had an accident in the house! She may be a little shy at first but once she warms up, she loves to be pet and get your attention. She is happy to join you on the couch or the dog bed. She's a great girl that deserves to be happy after what she has been through! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Cottage Grove, MN Hi! I’m Maiya and you’ve heard of puppies stealing and chewing socks, right?! Well you haven’t really lived until you’ve had your socks stolen with your toes still in them! (insert diabolical giggle here) My siblings and I got to leave the freezing cold outside and take a car ride to the warm homes of our foster families just in time to start the new year out right. New year, new me, right?! We’ve been learning how to live inside and potty outside. I’ve found I love to sleep on the big fluffy bed on the floor with the big dogs at my foster’s house. I had to get used to my crate at this new house, but now I think it’s a fine place to have my dinner, sleep at night and hang out when foster mom has to go to work. I also love to snuggle in the pillows on my foster mom’s bed! She thinks I’m so funny that when I jump into bed with her I head dive right into the pillows and root around to find a comfy spot. Foster mom says I’m just a big furry noodle with the way we slip and flop running around the house. She also laughs at me when I try to steal her slippers and socks while she’s still wearing them. In my defense, they’re all fuzzy just like my toys! I live with one of my sisters, two big dogs, two teenagers, and sometimes two elementary age kids come over - they are fun! Since I’m still essentially a toddler, I’d probably be better with a little bit older kids who can manage the reactions to my playful nibbles and jumping while I’m learning how to be a model citizen. My new foster sister (the big girl German shepherd who looks a lot like my mom did) taught me that our foster mom pays the ice tax and I can collect too! Every time she goes in the freezer, if we come running we get ice cubes! At first the leash was scary, but I’m getting the hang of it because going on adventures are really fun! Riding in the car is still kind of scary, so I just lay down and wait it out until we get to the fun places we’re going to. My sister and I like to entertain our foster humans with our reenactments of WWE RAW. We typically have matinee and an evening show, and then like to crash out in the laps or the couch with our adoring fans. I like to play fetch and learning new tricks to earn treats. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
