Story
Spur is a sweet, playful boy who has gone through professional training and is ready to show his skills off to the rest of the world with his forever family! Spur in his "big boy" body but is still a playful puppy at heart. Spur got to fly on a plane with his mom Ruby when he was 6 months old to go from Texas to Minnesota where he will have a much better chance in life. It was the first time spur had ever been out of a shelter and he had a lot to learn about life on the outside. He has made so much progress! He went to professional board and train at liberty K9 where he graduated his obedience class. He is a favorite of his trainers! He is super food motivated and eager to please and learn. Although he has come so far he can still have his skittish tendencies in certain circumstances, there is still so much experience. Spur hasn't been around many children and is little afraid of them, so he would be best in a home with older calmer children or no kids at all. He has been venturing out into the world a lot and experiencing parks and trails where he has done an amazing job exploring and learning about everything around him. Spur has a great nose and loves to sniff everything. Spur is a happy playful puppy and loves to play with people or dogs. Although he is still learning boundaries and may need some guidance while he continues to work through what is and is not appropriate. Luckily for any adopter Spur comes with the tools and training plan to work through his teenage phase (thanks Liberty!). He knows Sit, down, place, leave it and he walks well on a leash. Spur loves his people and enjoys following them around the house throughout the day and getting in some cuddles on the couch! Do you have a spot on your couch?

Mari is such a dream girl, she's a great size, loves dogs, cats, kids all adults. She's better not in an apartment as she does like to let her voice be heard. She's very agile as you can see, she likes to stand on things and watch the squirrels. She would make a great addition to any person or family that doesn't share walls with others.

Story
Meet Boots! Boots is one happy boy that is looking for a family to love. He's estimated to be about 1 year old and weighs about 65 lbs. His breeds? Well, your guess is as good as ours! He's a mix of some sort, but his personality is all love. He was found as a stray and has quickly adjusted to life in a foster home. He's crate trained, but has proven to be trustworthy to sleep in the living room with the other dogs. He is doing very well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. He does great with the two resident dogs in his foster home, and with children over 8 (younger kids are unknown as he hasn't met any yet). Boots is currently learning some basic training with his foster family. He's treat motivated and is eager to please. He loves to play with his foster family and then settle down with a chew bone. He also enjoys cozying up to his foster family. Boots pays close attention to noises and sounds outside, so living in a busy area may take longer for Boots to get used to. If Boots sounds like he'd be a great fit for your family, please consider applying! Boots' adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

Story
Meet Rambo, a resilient sweet boy who has overcome a lot in his short life.. Once a stray, he arrived at a shelter in Texas underweight, lethargic, and with a matted coat. Despite his challenges, Rambo's spirit remained unbroken. With love and care, he began to heal, both physically and emotionally. While his past may be a mystery, it's clear that Rambo faced significant hardships. He underwent kidney removal surgery but has bounced back remarkably. Now, he's a happy, healthy boy who loves to soak up affection. Rambo is a gentle giant with a low to medium energy level. He enjoys leisurely walks, treats, and plenty of attention. Despite his past, he's incredibly sweet and affectionate. If you're looking for a loyal companion who has proven his resilience, Rambo might just be the perfect fit. Rambo's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. Kai, a heartthrob from Texas, is more than just a dog; he's has been an incredible ray of hope and healing for the kids at a juvenile detention center in Texas. Because of his exceptional willingness to learn, he was selected to be part of the Canine Leadership Program where the kids learn the skills of teaching the basics of the Canine Good Citizen test requirements. Kai has an infectious smile and his warm, inviting presence easily melts away stress and worry with every wag of his tail and his lean in hugs. This lean, lanky boy, approximately 2 years old, boasts a striking brindle coat. Kai's gentle nature and unwavering love had earned him the title of "shelter favorite" in Texas.
