Story
Mari is such a dream girl, she's a great size, loves dogs, cats, kids all adults. She's better not in an apartment as she does like to let her voice be heard. She's very agile as you can see, she likes to stand on things and watch the squirrels. She would make a great addition to any person or family that doesn't share walls with others.

Story
Meet Boots! Boots is one happy boy that is looking for a family to love. He's estimated to be about 1 year old and weighs about 65 lbs. His breeds? Well, your guess is as good as ours! He's a mix of some sort, but his personality is all love. He was found as a stray and has quickly adjusted to life in a foster home. He's crate trained, but has proven to be trustworthy to sleep in the living room with the other dogs. He is doing very well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. He does great with the two resident dogs in his foster home, and with children over 8 (younger kids are unknown as he hasn't met any yet). Boots is currently learning some basic training with his foster family. He's treat motivated and is eager to please. He loves to play with his foster family and then settle down with a chew bone. He also enjoys cozying up to his foster family. Boots pays close attention to noises and sounds outside, so living in a busy area may take longer for Boots to get used to. If Boots sounds like he'd be a great fit for your family, please consider applying! Boots' adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

Story
Meet Rambo, a resilient sweet boy who has overcome a lot in his short life.. Once a stray, he arrived at a shelter in Texas underweight, lethargic, and with a dirty coat. Despite his challenges, Rambo's spirit remained unbroken. With love and care, he began to heal, both physically and emotionally. While his past may be a mystery, it's clear that Rambo faced significant hardships. He underwent kidney removal surgery but has bounced back remarkably. Now, he's a happy, healthy boy who loves to soak up affection. Rambo is a gentle giant with a low to medium energy level. He enjoys leisurely walks, treats, and plenty of attention. Despite his past, he's incredibly sweet and affectionate. If you're looking for a loyal companion who has proven his resilience, Rambo might just be the perfect fit. Rambo's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Kai, a heartthrob from Texas, is more than just a dog; he's has been an incredible ray of hope and healing for the kids at a juvenile detention center in Texas. Because of his exceptional willingness to learn, he was selected to be part of the Canine Leadership Program where the kids learn the skills of teaching the basics of the Canine Good Citizen test requirements. Kai has an infectious smile and his warm, inviting presence easily melts away stress and worry with every wag of his tail and his lean in hugs. This lover boy, 2 years old, boasts a striking brindle coat. Kai's gentle nature and unwavering love had earned him the title of "shelter favorite" in Texas. Whether you're seeking a loyal companion, a furry therapist, or simply a big bundle of joy to brighten your days, Kai is the perfect fit. His ability to provide emotional support and unconditional love makes him a truly remarkable dog. Kai has kidney disease and requires a special diet. To know more, please fill out an application. You wouldn't have even recognized this boy a few months ago, his fur has grown back, he's healthy and ready for his forever family. He's great on leash, doesn't pull at all. Very gentle and listens well. He likes to get to know you for a good 5 minutes before coming out of his shell. He's such a great size dog, super mellow. He adores kids and other dogs- cats aren't suggested as he likes to chase them a bit too much. Get your application in for this sweet boy!

Meet Frankie! This handsome 3-year-old pit mix is a bundle of playful energy and sweet affection, just waiting to find his forever family! Frankie is a true gem – he's got fantastic house manners, loves car rides (who doesn't?!), and is a total water dog! Just picture him splashing and swimming with pure joy! This energetic boy walks well on a leash, is perfectly kennel trained, and even has e-collar training. Frankie is a social butterfly when it comes to people – he adores everyone, young and old, male and female. He's a inquisitive and playful pup who gets along well with other dogs, though his playful invitations might sometimes be misinterpreted as a little "provocative." He's just an active guy who loves to play! Sadly, Frankie's not a fan of feline friends, so a cat-free home is a must. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and well-trained companion to join you on all your adventures, Frankie is your guy! Come meet this amazing boy and see if he's the perfect fit for your family! Frankie's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
