Story
Kody is an absolute love. He wants to be petted and follow people around. He does well with other dogs and enjoys going for walks. He is a sweet, affectionate puppy that will make a great best friend. Kody is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, had a vet exam, and is current on heartgard and nexgard. His adoption fee is $375 to help cover vetting costs. He is six months old and doing great at housetraining. He sleeps in a kennel through the night or would also cuddle up to someone. He likes playing with toys and does well offleash on acreage. He does well on a leash in town for walks, too. He has met a few cats and is curious, following them around. He's a smart boy that learns new things quickly. Please email us at landoflakesdogrescue@aol.com with any questions, or submit an application at the below link. Thanks for considering Kody! https://form.jotform.com/200117732210033

Story
Parker is playful dog with a heart of gold. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, from humans to fellow dogs, and he loves to make new friends at the park. Parker is very sweet, is a lover, and will cuddle with you for hours but also loves to go on long walks or adventures. He is kennel trained and house trained, but can be left outside of the kennel and not be destructive. Parker has always lived in a house with another dog, so he would do best with another animal in the home. Parker would love a backyard to run but he also loves to go on long walks, and play fetch with his favorite tennis ball. Parker would thrive in an active household where he can get plenty of exercise and love. He would be a perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fallon is a wise, old soul. He is a Lab/Shepherd X with an approx DOB of 1/20/2022. He’s taking in new experiences as if he’s done all this before! Nothing is too urgent, except for meal time! He loves play time with other dogs and older children. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to children under the age of 10 so slow, controlled intros are advised. He has a nose to hunt and playfully enjoys chasing the chipmunks out of their hiding spots around the yard. He's quite an outdoor explorer, never quite ready to come inside. That being said, he quickly learned the underground fence boundaries and is no longer pushing the limits. He is crate trained, but as he gets older he's more and more comfortable outside of his crate and sometimes needs treat motivation to go in on his own. He loves hugs and snuggles and is always open to curling up in an available lap. Fallon is a medical needs dog. He has urinary incontinence, which requires him to wear belly bands at all times. He is on a strong dose of Proin 2x per day and a monthly testosterone injection, which helps some but he will always be a leaky boy. Changing his pads in his belly band a couple times per day is going to be very important to maintaining his hygiene to avoid urine scalding (burning of the skin due to prolonged exposure to urine). Commands he has learned include “sit”, “down”, “inside”, “outside” and “kennel”. He is making progress with stay, wait, stop and come. He has been with Wags & Whiskers since he was about 10 weeks old but as you can imagine it has taken the rescue a while to figure out what was "wrong" with him. He is now finally ready to find his forever family and we are hoping that his anotomical issues won't deter him from finding a home. He really is a sweet boy that will need a special adopter that is home often and willing to work with his leaky faucet Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a Lab X  with a DOB of 10/22/22 (approx. 50lbs). I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my home, but it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.   I would like to mention a few characteristics I have that make me stand out from the doggie crowd. -  I hop like a bunny around the yard. -  I patrol the yard for squirrels, rabbits & cats. No one gets past this girl’s watchful eye. -  I am non-reactive with other dogs – I just want to play with them. -  I have a 4’ 5” vertical jump.  6’ fence is recommended -  I Pounce on tennis balls while I play with them. I like to ride a shotgun when it comes to car rides. They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open.  I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes. I love toys, but I don’t share them with other animals. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony.  I have been known to escape my kennel. Because of this I now have my own “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I am not a fan of the kennel, but I settle down quickly.   I tend to pull on the leash, so my foster mom bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now) and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters.  I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood.  I am still working on potty training.   What kind of home would do best for me: -  Active home that can release my spirited energy and have dog stimulation toys. -  I am food motivated and this works great for training. -  Be patient as I am still young and learning. -  Love me with all your heart as I will do the same.      Are you my forever home?      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello Future Family- My name is Chaya.  My estimated date of birth is August 21, 2023.  I am listed as a black lab mix. The most important thing you should know about me is that I love spending time with my people and playing with my toys. I’m working on kennel training. I eat in my kennel and can stay in without crying but I do not go in on my own, I need food or treats to get me inside. I am potty trained.  I love to cuddle and be by your side whenever you need me. I love being the center of attention and always will come to you for ear rubs and a back scratch.  Currently I am working on jumping up when I get excited. So, no young kiddos in my house.  I do best with slow dog intros and prefer calmer dogs to play with. Let me know if you would like to meet to see if we are a perfect fit.  Chaya NOTE: Chaya tested positive for Lymes disease (tick borne illness) and will need to be monitored the remainder of her life.   Many dogs that test positive for Lymes never become ill or require treatment.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
Meet Verde- Isn’t Verde a beautiful puppy?! With her light green eyes, chocolate, silky coat and dipped white front legs, it looks like she’s wearing socks.  Verde is social, friendly, playful, curious, smart and affectionate. She’s been around dogs, cats and children and is fabulous with all. Verde is a ABSOLUTE sweetheart that loves anything with a heartbeat and gives lots of kisses to show it!  She loves chewing on collagen bones, toys and playing fetch. Verde enjoys going for walks, car rides and meeting everyone that comes along her way. Verde is house trained, takes naps and sleeps in her crate at night. She is such a smart pup that already knows the words, ‘go potty’ and ‘sit.’ Quite the scholar already sitting before her food bowl and anytime you say, treat.’ She’s eager to learn and grow with her new family! Verde really loves other dogs and loves to play, so another playful dog in the home would be great. She would also be fine in a home without other dogs, but as long as there are opportunities to play and socialize with dogs. Verde is taking applications and interviewing for her forever family now! Don’t miss this out on this sweetheart! If you would like to meet Verde, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.
