You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sonya came to the shelter from the city pound when her hold was finished and no one had claimed her. She appears to be around a year old and looks like a black lab/pit bull type mix. There could be some other breeds in there, too. She's very loving and full of enthusiasm. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $150. Sonya does know how to sit (most of the time) but will most likely need some basic training. She is a very energetic young dog who will require regular exercise. We do think she would do best as the only pet in the home, at least until she gets some good training and socialization under her belt. She will need some time to decompress from the shelter environment as it has been causing her a lot of stress. An adult only home would be best (teens are fine). NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. He was born in March of 2022 - we think :) He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. He isn't overly fond of the other dogs here, so he might do better as a single dog until he gets used to being in a home setting again. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. She is very friendly and loves to stay by your side or in your lap. We believe Lollipop would do well with all ages and other animals with a proper introduction. Lollipop has a bunch of energy and would make an excellent companion for someone with an active lifestyle. Lollipop will need to learn the routine of a new household including potty training. Velvet came to us with her 2 sisters from up north. Born in January 2024, she was the shy girl of the 3, but has really come out of her shell. She is a happy, beautiful young lady who would be great for a quiet home. Velvet loves to be petted and loved with lots of tummy rubs. She still is a bit shy around strangers, but gets over it quickly with positive interactions. She loves her sisters, so should be fine with other dogs with a proper introduction. Roog is a great dog, loves kids and people. He would be best in a home with another dog, I think he would really benefit from having a friend. But he also sometimes doesnt understand his size with small children , he doesnt watch when hes running. He doesnt mind cats, he either just watches or tries to play. He does need someone with more time to train. He is potty trained. He can sit, shake, lay down, take it nice and is okay on stay But he does need training on a leash, he was only on it for the vet or else he has free roam of house and big fenced in yard. He does get hyper as a 3 year old boy would. But he is also very chill and calm and just wants to lay by you and get all the loves. Life has unfortunately just been changing and I will no longer have the time for him anymore, I wont be home and he absolutely deserves to have someone and or a fur buddy. You;d be so lucky to be his new mama/daddy. He has been the best companion for me.

We didn't put him up for adoption right away as he was very shy and shutdown. Some of our wonderful volunteers have been working with him, taking baby steps, and we think he's ready to transition into a forever home. However it will have to be a very special, secure, and patient home. Forest has been fully vetted and his fee of $125 is sponsored. Forest originally came to rescue from a Reservation in South Dakota. He was on the run for quite a while before he was live trapped. He's a mature adult who could now be close to 7 years old. He is still extremely shy but responds well to treats and kind words. He's learning to go for walks and enjoys it. We think he would be okay with a well mannered, somewhat confident dog. Due to his shy nature, he's looking for an experienced ADULT only home (teens are fine). We have no way of knowing about cats. SECURELY FENCED YARD REQUIRED.
