Story
Meet Beck! Hubba hubba here he comes! Beck is a one-year-old lab/plott hound mix who's 60 pounds of pure love! Beck is hands down one of the most affectionate pups you'll ever meet. He is very timid around new people, but once you've earned his trust, he makes no secret his goal in life is to be close! He actively seeks affection and gives the best hugs in town. His new family will need to be very patient and encouraging with him. We promise you he's worth the wait. Once you're in, you're in for life! As he is still a young man, Beck will benefit from continued training as he grows. His new family will need to keep him active and engaged and a fenced-in yard for him to enjoy is a must for his handsome boy! Training with Beck will be an excellent way to form a lifelong bond with this fabulous boy! Some of our volunteers took Beck on an outing and absolutely raved about him. He's good on a leash, though he does stop often to ask for hugs. Beck does excellent with other dogs and wasn't bothered by passing bikes. He also enjoys the water! After a nice three mile walk, they ended their outing with a delicious ice cream which Beck was more than happy to gobble up. Check out his pics! Based on our evaluation, we feel Beck would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He enjoys hanging with other dogs and we feel he would be a great buddy for another pup. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Don't spend another day without this lovey-dovey boy! Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our bubbly Beck!

Story
Meet Tootsie! This darling 45-pound lab/hound mix is a kind-hearted as they come. She's 11-months old and is hoping for a family that can show her just how wonderful life can be. Tootsie is a timid girl who is longing to trust. While it takes some time to get her to relax, we promise it's well worth the wait when you get to see her playful personality shine through! Tootsie will need a caring, patient family that will encourage her while she gets acclimated to her new home. As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from daily exercise and continued training as she grows. This will be a great opportunity to strengthen your bond and help build her confidence. She is a very capable girl and we can't wait to see her thrive! Some of our volunteers recently took Tootsie for an outing. The car ride was a bit overwhelming for her, but we think with time and repetition, she will get more comfortable. She enjoyed a nice three mile walk on the trail and even hopped in the water to explore! When she came across other pups, she didn't seem bothered at all. Tootsie didn't seem too interested in her pup cup, but we look forward to finding out what her favorite treats are. Based on our evaluation, we feel Tootsie would do well in an active, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She tends to find comfort with other dogs and we feel she could do great with another pup who teach her just how much fun being a dog can be. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like the opportunity to show Tootsie what true love is, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for delightful dog.

Story
Meet Kiara! This 50-pound, one-year-old mixed breed beauty has a dazzling smile and cheerful disposition that can't be beat! Before coming to GLDR, Kiara was in foster with other dogs and cats and did great with all of them. She lived with another GLDR pup Poppy, and the two are good buds. Not just a pretty face, Kiara knows "sit" and is capable of learning so much more. She is eager to learn and we know she will make you proud. Continued training will make her the best girl she can be! Kiara has a great time in the yard and her new family will need to devote time to keep her exercised daily. She will thrive with enrichment and being part of day to day activities. A yard for her to enjoy is a must for this upbeat pup! Kiara recently had an outing and did fabulous! She is great in the car and did an amazing job walking on her leash on the trail. She enjoyed taking in all of her surroundings and even explored the water! Kiara is the perfect girl for you to take on your next adventure. She enjoyed her very own pup cup and was so appreciative of her time away from the kennel. Based on our evaluation, we feel Kiara would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. We feel she has the potential to live in a home with other dogs and cats as she has done so in the past. We are happy to go a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like the chance to make Kiara a part of your clan, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application today!

Story
Meet Chris! This adorable one-year-old old lab mix weighs in at 35 pounds and ready, willing and very able to be your best bud! Chris is currently loving his time in his foster home and his foster mom can't get over how impressive he is! He is very well-mannered, house-trained, and crate-trained! He will go to the door to let you know when he needs to go out. Chris looks forward to his daily walks and is great on leash. He will thrive on regular exercise and routine in his new home. Chris is a very capable pup and will benefit from continuing to training as he grows. His favorite treats include dried liver and chicken jerky. His eager optimism makes him an excellent student. What a great way to spend your time hanging out with this charming boy. A yard for him to enjoy will be a great way to keep him happily engaged. After his exercise, Chris likes to slide into his crate for a nice nap. Throughout the day, he enjoys keeping himself entertained and will toss a kong around for his amusement. Don't worry though, Chris always makes time for some cuddles! Up for a road trip? Chris is also great in the car. Before bed he enjoys a brief zoomie session and then it's off to bed, thankful for the time with his foster family. Based on our evaluation, we feel Chris will do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the ability to live in a home with other animals. Story
Meet Tank! This three-year-old handsome hunk of a lab is the missing piece you've been waiting for! He's 77 pounds of good time goofiness that will brighten anyone's day! An explorer at heart, Tank's curious and fun-loving nature makes him the ultimate companion. He's good on leash and will make an excellent walking/hiking buddy. Tank loves to spend his time sniffing every inch of the yard and running the fence with his canine companions. Due to his adventurous nature, our boy will require a tall (6 ft) fenced-in yard in his new home. Not just a handsome face, Tank is so much more! House-trained and crate-trained, Tank aims to please. He was lucky enough to spend a few days away from the kennel and had a blast. He gets along well with other dogs his size, though he does tend to chase cats and other small animals, so he'll need to go to a family without any small furry friends. Check out his pics! Some of our fabulous volunteers whisked Tank away on an adventure, and let me tell you, he was living his best life! Tank was the ultimate co-pilot, rocking it in the car like a champ! They explored the stunning Metamora State Park with a three-mile stroll! When they encountered other pups or people on the trail, Tank was a total gentleman on the leash. And oh boy, did he love the water (typical Lab)! To top off the fun, they treated Tank to a pup cup that he devoured with pure joy! These volunteers couldn't stop gushing about Tank's sweetness and smarts! Tank is a very capable guy, who knows "sit" and is ready to learn even more. He's very food-motivated which will be a benefit when training him. He always takes his treats gently and is so much fun to be around. As he's still a younger pup, he will thrive on daily exercise and mental stimulation in his new home. Based on our evaluation, we feel Tank would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the potential to live with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Tank is your kind of pup, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this lovable lab!
