Hagan A17044065 lb. neutered male, approx 2 years old -He’s a very big puppy!-He’s super playful and loves toys! Flips them all over and chases them. He’s a fun guy!-He will need space as his tail alone will knock stuff over 🤣-He likes to do zoomies and run outside-He’s strong on leash and needs some practice-He loves treats and quickly learned he only gets the snack if all four are on the floor. He’s smart and a quick learner.-He loves pets and giving kisses-He’s a big, fun dope who will make you laugh!-He needs a little bit of training. He can be jumpy, but is treat motivated and smart. He’s already making improvements but will need his new humans to continue working with him.-Good boy!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Meet Bruiser! Bruiser is a five year old black lab German shepherd mix. Bruiser is the sweetest, most affectionate dog in the world. He was adopted from a local shelter into a loving home but unfortunately his family has had to make the extremely difficult decision to put him up for adoption as Bruiser does not do well with their other family dog due to his food aggression issues. Bruiser is a sweet, extremely cuddly boy. He loves going on walks and spending time with his humans. Bruiser is a great companion who would strive in a home as the only dog with kids 6 years and up. Adopt Bruiser, the sweetest boy who will love nothing more than to cuddle on your couch with you and fill your home with his warmth, joy and loyalty. ****Please note, we marked not good with kids out of abundance of caution. Due to his food aggression with other dogs, we checked “not good with kids”. He has been around kids and has never had any issues.

Story
Brody had a rough start to life, I don't think he was given much time or handled kindly by his first owner - because of this he didn't know how great people can be, but he has worked very hard to build relationships and dog skills. He's immaculate in his kennel, no messes, loves enrichment - but will obliterate pillows, orthopedic beds and stuffies with exuberant glee 😬😬😬. So....I suggest we don't give him those. I'd say he's "mostly" good for walks - once you get in the flow, and he WORKS hard for that food. He loves people, loves to be petted, and will lay by your feet all day. Brody just wants to be by your side because he loves attention now that he trusts people and is a happy fellow. He will require a fenced yard, children over 13, no cats. If you want a loyal and lovable companion Brody is the perfect dog to meet! Fosters and adopters must live within an hour of metro Detroit. Birthdate 1-29-17

This gentle giant was found on the streets of Detroit and is looking for a new home to call his own. Gino is a very good dog that is laid back but also loves going on walks. He currently lives with other dogs big and small at his foster home but also would be fine as an only dog. Gino has a fenced yard and is microchipped. Birthdate 12/30/15
