She loves to dip her head in her water pail, too. Farrah has been with the rescue since she was about 2 months old. She crate trained, potty trained, and knows some commands. She loves to go and visit other dogs. Great dog for a dog park. She does have some prey drive with cats and other small animals. Farrah loves her people very much that she reacts protectively when new people enter her home space. She does take medication for her anxiety which is working wonderfully.  Farrah is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am

Story
**Meet Winnie!** Winnie is a resilient, joyful Lab-Shepherd mix with a heart of gold and boundless puppy energy! This sweet girl absolutely loves being outside, where her curiosity and playful spirit shine. She’s made incredible progress after her accident and now uses her back legs most of the time—though sometimes she needs a gentle reminder to take it easy when she's zooming around and goes faster than they can handle at the moment. she's still very fast lol. Winnie is crate-trained and sleeps like a champ through the night. She’s working on her potty training that was delayed due to her injury and will thrive with a patient, loving family to help her continue her progress. She’s fantastic with kids and other furry friends, making her a perfect fit for an active, caring home that can give her the love, guidance, and playtime she craves. If you’re ready for an affectionate, unstoppable little companion, Winnie’s ready to meet you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, please let me introduce myself, my name is Sarah and I am a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard.  Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was abused by her first human family, so she finds it hard to trust new people and has fear aggression. It will take time to gain Sarah's trust and multiple meetings.  She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command.  A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog.  Please come and meet me,  I need is a chance to find my permanent home. Older children only pleas e.    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Finn, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Finn is a Lab/Mountain Cur mix, he’s 2 years old, and he weighs 41#. He’s a very sweet, quiet, and friendly dog. When Finn first arrived, he was afraid of meeting new people, and he would cower to protect himself while we leashed him up for his walks. But over the last three months, Finn has worked very hard to regain his trust in people and he has been doing quite well with our 40+ person volunteer team. Finn has never snapped at anyone or done anything wrong, even when he was scared. We took Finn to the Vet for all of his vaccinations, a physical exam, heart worm test, and he has been neutered. Finn is at a healthy weight for his size and he’s been eating well since his arrival. He loves riding in the car now and he becomes excited when he encounters another friendly dog. Because of Finn’s fear of change, I am looking for someone who would like to start bonding with him out here and building his trust with the hope of adopting him once he’s feeling more confident and prepared to make the transition. We’ve seen other dogs come in just as afraid as he is and, based on those experiences, it’s just a matter of time until he will come around in a new home. We will commit to investing the time to bring Finn to your home for short visits until he feels confident enough to stay. If you would like to meet Finn with the hope of adopting him, please message me through the Mikey & Me Community FB page. Or you can submit an adoption application under Finn’s name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org and, once approved, I will reach out to you to coordinate a meet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome dude is Diesel.  Diesel has a sad backstory, but we want to focus on his new life that began when he came into care with HDDCR.  Diesel is a big boy at about 75 pounds and about 5 years old.  He came into care in bad shape, flea infested with very long nails and a large mass on his hip.  His rescuer immediately addressed his condition, and Diesel enjoyed a spa day where he was pampered and loved on. Then it was off to the vet to address the mass which turned out to be a ruptured cyst, not cancer.  Diesel is heartworm negative, UTD on his vaccines, neutered, and will be microchipped before going to his adoptive family.  Diesel is a strong dog, but also gentle when taking treats.  He knows some commands and previously lived with a Chihuahua and a cat.  Diesel is a laid-back boy that deserves a family who will never abandon him again. If Diesel sounds like a great addition to your family submit your application because we don't think he will be with us long.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Poppy looks like a mini-lab and she has short round snout and floppy ears. She has a cute underbite a a white patch on the tip of the chin. We do not know what her background is but we do know it was not good. She is a fearful, shy dog that needs to build confidence. She can be skittish but does want love and attention and will come for pets when she feels brave enough. She has even jumped up in her foster's lap once or twice. She  does get along with the other dogs in her foster home and likes to be around them. It gives her confidence and helps her feel safe.  She does sleep on her Foster's bed with the other dogs in the home. She is better with women than men. She is scared of loud noises and quick movements. If she is outside in the yard and becomes scared of anything she will come in  immediately  Poppy will need a quiet, calm, home and requires a fenced in yard .She would also do better with another friendly dog in the home. In new situations and with new people she is fearful  and is skittish. She will need an adopter who is willing to continue to help her as she learns about living in a world with people who are kind. She’ll do best with a person who can be patient and give her positive experiences to help her come out of her shell. She is coming along and continues to make gains. If you think you can be Poppy's hero, fill out an application at Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption.
