Story
Meet Cole! COLE HAS BEEN WITH US SINCE MARCH! PLEASE GIVE HIM A CHANCE! Cole is a captivating two-year-old Labrador/Pyrenees mix who is ready to say so long to the kennel life and find his forever family! All 80 pounds of him is waiting to make you his new best friend! Cole is currently living it up with a new foster family and he is quickly making himself at home. He spends his days hanging out with his two fur brothers and is loving every minute of it! He naps in his chair while his foster mom is working from home and then enjoys a fun-filled wrestle with his fur brother. Cole is a big goofball so another dog will have to be accept his puppy-like playstyle. Not only is Cole house-trained and crate-trained, he's eager to learn and treat-motivated. Cole already knows "sit" and "shake" and his foster family is teaching him even more! Although he is crate-trained, he prefers to be included in daily activities and would do best with a family that is home a lot or will take him with them on adventures. He LOVES the water on a hot summer day and will never miss an opportunity to take a cool dip. Just look at his photos of him in the kiddie pool! A lover of peanut butter kongs and his jolly ball, Cole is a guy who just wants to be a part of the action. He's good in the car and is always excited to meet new friends, both furry and human alike. His leash skills are improving everyday, and after a enjoyable day in the yard, Cole is more than happy to join you on the couch for a snuggle. When it's time for bed, he sleeps quietly through the night (though he'll take up your entire bed if you let him!) Cole thrives on social interaction and will no doubt be loving and loyal companion years to come. Who wouldn't want to hang out with this fella??? As he is still a young man, Cole will benefit from continued training. He will need an active family who will keep him exercised daily and include him in their adventures . A large yard for Cole to enjoy (preferably fenced) is a must for this fun-loving boy. Imagine all the good times you'll have together! Based on our evaluation, we feel Cole will do well in a home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. We think he has the ability to live with other dogs of a similar size who have the same playstyle as he does. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Cole could be the right pup for your family, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and fill out an application for lovable lab!

Story
Meet Beck! Hubba hubba here he comes! Beck is a one-year-old lab/plott hound mix who's 60 pounds of pure love! Beck is hands down one of the most affectionate pups you'll ever meet. He is very timid around new people, but once you've earned his trust, he makes no secret his goal in life is to be close! He actively seeks affection and gives the best hugs in town. His new family will need to be very patient and encouraging with him. We promise you he's worth the wait. Once you're in, you're in for life! As he is still a young man, Beck will benefit from continued training as he grows. His new family will need to keep him active and engaged and a fenced-in yard for him to enjoy is a must for his handsome boy! Training with Beck will be an excellent way to form a lifelong bond with this fabulous boy! Some of our volunteers took Beck on an outing and absolutely raved about him. He's good on a leash, though he does stop often to ask for hugs. Beck does excellent with other dogs and wasn't bothered by passing bikes. He also enjoys the water! After a nice three mile walk, they ended their outing with a delicious ice cream which Beck was more than happy to gobble up. Check out his pics! Based on our evaluation, we feel Beck would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He enjoys hanging with other dogs and we feel he would be a great buddy for another pup. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Don't spend another day without this lovey-dovey boy! Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our bubbly Beck!

Story
Meet Tootsie! This darling 45-pound lab/hound mix is a kind-hearted as they come. She's 11-months old and is hoping for a family that can show her just how wonderful life can be. Tootsie is a timid girl who is longing to trust. While it takes some time to get her to relax, we promise it's well worth the wait when you get to see her playful personality shine through! Tootsie will need a caring, patient family that will encourage her while she gets acclimated to her new home. As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from daily exercise and continued training as she grows. This will be a great opportunity to strengthen your bond and help build her confidence. She is a very capable girl and we can't wait to see her thrive! Some of our volunteers recently took Tootsie for an outing. The car ride was a bit overwhelming for her, but we think with time and repetition, she will get more comfortable. She enjoyed a nice three mile walk on the trail and even hopped in the water to explore! When she came across other pups, she didn't seem bothered at all. Tootsie didn't seem too interested in her pup cup, but we look forward to finding out what her favorite treats are. Based on our evaluation, we feel Tootsie would do well in an active, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She tends to find comfort with other dogs and we feel she could do great with another pup who teach her just how much fun being a dog can be. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like the opportunity to show Tootsie what true love is, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for delightful dog.
