Story
Duke is 2 year old rescued from Mississippi. He is a snuggly sweet boy with a big personality. He is full of energy, loves to swim or hike in the woods followed by snuggles on the couch. He is a fiercely loving dog to his owners, and in many ways is the best dog we have ever owned. Duke struggles with children (his exposure currently is kids age 1-10), and has experienced fear aggression several times with kids. Dukes future home must be child free, and ideally he is the only dog in the home. We are trying to start a family in the next year which is why we must rehome him. Duke would thrive with outdoor space. He is very sweet with adults and will be your #1 companion as he has been ours.

Story
Meet Butters! Butters is a 1 year old lab mix that is on the search for her forever home! Butters currently weighs about 35lbe but will continue to grow as she gains more weight. Butters was rescued from a high kill shelter where she was next on the list to be euthanized. We knew is our hearts that she needed our help to make it out alive. Butters does great with dogs of all sizes but does have plenty of puppy energy so mah annoy older sir smaller dogs. She would love a home where she is the center of attention and go on all of your fun adventures. She loves running in the yard with her toys and dog friends. She is getting used to knowing what life is like in a home so she isn’t her house broken but working on her best manners. Since she’s very excitable, she loves her people so much that she cannot help but jump up, her foster is working on breaking that habit since Butters doesn’t realize she isn’t a small chihuahua! Story
Meet Duncan, a handsome 5-year-old male Lab/Hound mix with soulful eyes and a heart full of love! Duncan is on the lookout for his forever family and promises to be a loyal and loving companion. This sweet boy currently lives with 2 adults and 2 teenagers(every other weekend for the teenagers) and provides pure joy to everyone! Younger kiddos may make him nervous so kids over 10yrs would be best. Duncan loves receiving big hugs, belly scratches and cuddling on a couch with his loved ones. He’d do amazing in a peaceful home and would make an excellent walking partner. Duncan is best suited in a home with a fenced backyard to play and with a family who can appreciate his gentle and loving nature. Duncan is so friendly but gets anxious meeting new dogs. Slow and thoughtful introductions would be the best for him to warm up to other pups. He is treat motivated and easy to train!

Adoptable in: MAGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes (13+)Crate trained: Working on itHouse trained: YesAce is an adorable pup who adores snuggling, playing tug of war, and hanging out with his humans! Anyone who meets him falls head over heels for this gentle and silly little goofball. He gets along well with many dogs, especially older and calmer ones who can match his mellow energy level, and he has a blast at daycare with his furry friends. Ace is already house-trained and is currently working on crate training - he's a total champ at overnight crating and is actively making progress with daytime crating.A perfect day for Ace starts with a nice walk (where he loves to say hello to new people with a friendly howl!) and then he spends the rest of the day chilling on the couch with his chew toys and his family. He's highly motivated by food and will do just about anything for a tasty treat, so further training should be a piece of cake. He also thrives on routine, so having a schedule will help him settle into his new environment.Ace is the ultimate companion animal - he feels much more confident and comfortable when he's around his humans so he has some separation anxiety, which is slowly improving in his foster home! Because of this, he would do best with a family that is home more often than not. Additionally, he tends to be vocal when anxious (and even when he's happy and excited - this chatty boy loves to say hello!). Ace is best suited for a single-family home.Ace is a fantastic dog who is eagerly waiting to meet his forever family! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.November 5, 2024, 1:17 am
