Story
Duke is 2 year old rescued from Mississippi. He is a snuggly sweet boy with a big personality. He is full of energy, loves to swim or hike in the woods followed by snuggles on the couch. He is a fiercely loving dog to his owners, and in many ways is the best dog we have ever owned. Duke struggles with children (his exposure currently is kids age 1-10), and has experienced fear aggression several times with kids. Dukes future home must be child free, and ideally he is the only dog in the home. We are trying to start a family in the next year which is why we must rehome him. Duke would thrive with outdoor space. He is very sweet with adults and will be your #1 companion as he has been ours.

MEET LOANIE! SEE VIDEO!!!! - Loanie is in a foster home, please make an appointment to meet her!Loanie is one of the dogs who came to us directly from a shelter in the Bahamas. She is a shy but very sweet and playful girl who is new to life here in New England. She started her life at a shelter in the Bahamas living with a bunch of other dogs and being well cared for by the caretakers at the sanctuary. She has learned so much since she`s been with us, and is getting more comfortable with staff + volunteers everyday! We are starting to get an idea of her likes/dislikes and have come to realize she really is still very much a puppy at heart!A quiet/rural environment is best as she has no experience living in an urban environment and can be fearful of lots of noises, cars and bicycles. A fenced yard is a requirement due to her still learning to be on leash. If she has an opportunity to run, play and use the bathroom in a yard situation she can then slowly acclimate to leash walks at her own pace. Though she has her quirks, Loanie truly is a sweetheart. Please contact our Dedham branch to schedule a time to meet her - she`s easy to fall in love with!Loanie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. Brody is a handsome 2 year old boy looking for a home where he can spend time playing with his toys, playing with another dog, hanging with his family or simply chillin` in the sunshine! If you live in a more urban environment and enjoy hiking through the woods or any other outdoor activity he would be happy to tag along. If you feel like relaxing on the couch watching Netflix Brody would happily curl up beside you for the day. Brody came to us because his owners had to move into housing that would not allow dogs. They were very sad to say goodbye to him but did what they could to ensure he had another opportunity to bring joy to someones life. He is a bit fearful of new things but comes around very quickly with the help of high value, delicious food treats and toys. Having another dog is not a requirement but a bonus for him. Ace is already house-trained and is currently working on crate training - he's a total champ at overnight crating and is actively making progress with daytime crating.A perfect day for Ace starts with a nice walk (where he loves to say hello to new people with a friendly howl!) and then he spends the rest of the day chilling on the couch with his chew toys and his family. He's highly motivated by food and will do just about anything for a tasty treat, so further training should be a piece of cake. He also thrives on routine, so having a schedule will help him settle into his new environment.Ace is the ultimate companion animal - he feels much more confident and comfortable when he's around his humans so he has some separation anxiety, which is slowly improving in his foster home! Because of this, he would do best with a family that is home more often than not. Additionally, he tends to be vocal when anxious (and even when he's happy and excited - this chatty boy loves to say hello!). Ace is best suited for a single-family home.Ace is a fantastic dog who is eagerly waiting to meet his forever family!Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
