Story
🐾 Meet Kosmo: Your Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold! 🐾 Are you ready to welcome 123 pounds of pure love into your life? Say hello to Kosmo, the four-year-old gentle giant who’s here to melt your heart and maybe raid your fridge. With Kosmo by your side, you'll have a loyal companion who’s equal parts goofy and gentle. Kosmo's Cool Credentials: * Gentle Giant: At 123 pounds, Kosmo is a whole lot of love wrapped in fur. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart. * Medical Marvel: Kosmo has had seizures, and is currently on medication to reduce the frequency of these episodes. He’s a champ at taking his meds, especially when they're disguised as gourmet "meatballs" with grated cheese. * Leash Pro: Kosmo walks gently on a leash. He might amble a bit—he’s probably still getting the hang of it—but he’s a polite walker. * House Trained & Well Mannered: No accidents here! Kosmo is house trained and knows his manners, though he does have a penchant for checking the fridge, freezer, and ice cube maker. (He’s just making sure everything is safe for you, of course.) * Treat Taker Extraordinaire: Kosmo takes treats gently and will even sit and give you his paw. He’s all about those belly rubs and back scratches too. * Calm Companion: Give him time and he’ll settle in, ready to relax with you. * Car Enthusiast: Kosmo loves car rides! Sometimes he enjoys them so much he might not want to get out. A snack usually does the trick. * Quiet but Mighty: Kosmo doesn’t bark often, but when he does, you’ll know it. *Friend to all: He’s good with dogs of all sizes, kids, and cats, too. * Pup Cup Connoisseur: Kosmo has a taste for the finer things, like pup cups and chicken. Treat him to one of these, and you’ll be his favorite person. Ready to add a giant dose of love and laughter to your life? Kosmo is waiting to be your gentle giant and loyal companion. Come meet him today, and prepare for the best protection detail and fridge inspection services around! 🐶❤️ __________________________________ If you are interested in finding out more about Kosmo, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Kosmo is being fostered in Salem, MA. The adoption fee is $400. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Ivy! Rescued: 10/22/2022 Age at the time of rescue: 4 months Current weight: 54 pounds Currently receiving training. Ivy is an athletic, happy, goofy and laid back girl who loves her people. She is nervous when meeting new people, but with encouragement from a trusted handler, she makes friends FAST! She will seek out attention from her people, wants to please, and checks in with her person frequently for approval. She loves to play and especially time with other dogs. This athletic girl would love a yard where she can get out some of her her zoomies. She rests in her crate beautifully, and happily chews a bone or naps while crated. She would love some walks, cuddle time, and canine friends to play with. Her pictures don't do her justice, she's more beautiful in person. This sweet girl was living on the streets and after her evaluation, her body told a story of struggle and survival. Evaluation and X-rays showed that both her rear legs had been fractured and healed with calcification on all fractures. She was most likely hit by a car as a puppy and survived! She is a beautiful and loving girl who is a shelter favorite. Smart and playful best describe her.

Meet SKIPPER Born & Rescued: 3/13/2023 Current weight: 46 pounds Skipper is being fostered in NH with several other dogs, and loves it! He is very affectionate, and is outgoing and affectionate. Skipper is good in the car, good in the crate, walks great in the leash and rides well in the car. He would love to be your lap dog, even though he's much bigger than most laps! Rescued as a newborn with mom Patsy on St. Patrick's Day in 2023. They were found living in the ruins of an abandoned home and were clearly in need of immediate help. Patsy made it safely to the states and was adopted into a loving home and now it's time for her pups to make their big move stateside. If you live in the New Hampshire area, we hope that Skipper is the right pup for you! He's happy, playful and loves other dogs. He's been cat tested and is submissive around them.
