Story
This is Luna Jean. My former partner and I adopted her while we were living in NC at just 10 weeks old. She is a very sweet, lovable girl who needs someone who can care and love her better than I can do right now. I have had to have her live with my parents for the last year and half since where I currently live has dogs, which has unfortunately caused her to gain weight. She is 8 years old, and has been through a lot in the last few years. Before moving to Vermont, she was living with two other large male labs whom she did not yet along with - they would tease her and this sometimes turned into fights. She should be someone or a family that does not have another dog or cat in the home. She has had TPLO surgery on her left leg and her right leg has a sprained CCL, which is gets around fine on. She loves to go on walks and recharge her battery by laying in the sun in the backyard at my parents house. All she wants is the love and attention that she deserves forever.

Story
Meet Waffles! A loving five-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from New York, NY, whose heart is as big as her 68-pound frame. Wrapped in a sleek black coat that glistens under the sun, Waffles is an energetic, playful companion with a deep affection for plush toys and cuddle sessions. If you’re looking for a constant companion who thrives on affection and companionship, Waffles just might be the perfect addition to your family! Waffles is a dog who knows her way around obedience, thanks to her formal training. She’s mastered commands like sit, stay, come, down, paw, and up, making her a well-mannered lady in many situations. But she’s not just about obedience; Waffles has a high-energy zest for life, making her an ideal partner for outdoor adventures in a spacious yard or open land where she can run to her heart’s content! However, Waffles’ journey hasn’t been without challenges. She’s selective with her canine friends and hasn’t had much interaction with cats, so her new family should be ready to manage these introductions carefully. Waffles also has exhibited some behavioral challenges, including biting incidents, and she requires a home with a guardian who is experienced, patient, and dedicated to continuing her training, ensuring she feels safe and secure in her environment and manage her triggers, such as strangers in the home. Despite these challenges, Waffles’ capacity for love and loyalty is immense. She’s happiest when she’s by your side, soaking up pets and cuddles, ready to bring joy and laughter into your life every day! Waffles needs a home where she can be the focus of attention, with a family that understands her needs and is committed to providing the stability and training she requires. If you’re an experienced dog lover with a large yard and a lot of love to give, Waffles could be the perfect match for you! To make sure that Waffles has a great start with her new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Are you ready to welcome this sweet, playful girl into your life? If so, Waffles is eager to find a new loving home where she can continue to grow and thrive. Could it be with you? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing Waffles into your family!

Story
Meet Sabrina! A charming five-month-old Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix from Greenwich, CT, whose creamy coat with delicate beige patches is complemented by captivating amber eyes. Sabrina is a sweetheart with a zest for life, whether she's chasing down her chew toys, prancing around the yard, or soaking up belly rubs with uncontainable joy! This girl has all the makings of a beloved companion, especially for a dog-loving person looking for a new best friend to share in life’s little joys. As a young pup, Sabrina is in her teething phase, so you might catch her mouthing things here and there, but she’s never one to hurt a soul! She’s still learning, but her gentle nature shines through. A natural socialite, she adores meeting new people and happily mingles with other dogs, embracing them as playmates rather than rivals. While she hasn’t met many cats yet, her easygoing and friendly disposition suggests she’d adapt well given time and gentle introductions. Sabrina’s favorite pastimes are simple yet endearing. She loves working her way through chew toys and bones, exploring the yard, and melting hearts with her signature move: rolling over for belly rubs after softly sitting by your side! Despite her puppy energy, she’s also picked up some mature habits, likely from spending time with older dogs. When left alone briefly, she might give a few initial whimpers but soon settles in for a cozy nap, displaying an independence that’s quite impressive for her age. Fully vaccinated, spayed, and house-trained, Sabrina is ready for a nurturing home where she can keep learning, playing, and spreading joy. Her ideal family is one who cherishes her gentle spirit, is patient with her puppy energy, and is excited to watch her grow into the wonderful dog she’s already becoming. Could Sabrina be the perfect match for you? This affectionate, bright-eyed girl can’t wait to meet her forever family. If you’re ready for love, laughter, and plenty of belly rubs, reach out at adopt@joyfulpets.com to bring Sabrina home today!
