Story
Layla is about a 1 year old lab mix full of energy and love. She still has the typical puppy energy and behaviors, she is crate trained but can still bark a bit when left alone. She can be a pretty rough player with other dogs hasn’t quite learned manners even though we have tried to train her. so if you have another dog in your home they need to be okay with rough play or know how to correct other dogs. She can not be around cats as she chases mine and tries to bite at them I believe trying to play but its to much for the little cats as she could hurt them I’ve tried correcting this but she’s just to playful. Our work schedule have changed and we Are not able to give her the training or exercise she needs she needs a home that can give her attention time and patients with her. She would make a great dog for an active house who has the time to help her get all this puppy energy out she’s a great dog and a great cuddle buddy!

Story
Casper is 3.5 years old (dob 2/23/20). Weve had him since he was 10 weeks. Unfortunately we have to rehome him. He is a super lovable companion. He loves to play in our fence backyard but also loves his lounging time as well. Casper loves to bark. He barks at strangers at first but once he gets to meet you, he’s a lovable boy. He spends about 3 hours of the day outdoors. He is allergic to chicken. He does require to be on a leash while outside because he runs away. We haven’t had time to get him in a training. But he does listen to some commands while indoor (sit, stay, lay down). He understands when we ask if he wants to go outside, treats and time to eat/water😊. We’re looking for a loving family for Casper!

Story
*You must already have a friendly, confident dog to adopt Copper!* Copper is a 1-year-old Labrador with a heart full of love and a touch of shyness. This sweet, gentle boy is a certified cuddle enthusiast who bonds deeply with his people once he feels safe. While the world can be a little overwhelming for him, having a confident dog friend by his side makes all the difference. Copper must go to a home with a friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes and give him the courage he needs. With a buddy by his side, Copper blossoms-he's more willing to meet new people and even enjoys playful adventures. On his own, he's quite timid and may hide until he feels secure. At home, Copper is house trained and loves to relax with his family, soaking up all the affection he can get. Once he's comfortable, his playful, energetic side shines-he's a big fan of hikes and other outdoor activities. He is house trained as long as he is kept on a routine. He is nervous of young kids and would likely do best in a home with teens and up. We do not know how he is with cats. If you have a welcoming dog and a patient, loving heart, Copper might just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to trust, love, and thrive with the right support! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter

Story
Meet Waffles! A loving five-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from New York, NY, whose heart is as big as her 68-pound frame. Wrapped in a sleek black coat that glistens under the sun, Waffles is an energetic, playful companion with a deep affection for plush toys and cuddle sessions. If you’re looking for a constant companion who thrives on affection and companionship, Waffles just might be the perfect addition to your family! Waffles is a dog who knows her way around obedience, thanks to her formal training. She’s mastered commands like sit, stay, come, down, paw, and up, making her a well-mannered lady in many situations. But she’s not just about obedience; Waffles has a high-energy zest for life, making her an ideal partner for outdoor adventures in a spacious yard or open land where she can run to her heart’s content! However, Waffles’ journey hasn’t been without challenges. She’s selective with her canine friends and hasn’t had much interaction with cats, so her new family should be ready to manage these introductions carefully. Waffles also has exhibited some behavioral challenges, including biting incidents, and she requires a home with a guardian who is experienced, patient, and dedicated to continuing her training, ensuring she feels safe and secure in her environment and manage her triggers, such as strangers in the home. Despite these challenges, Waffles’ capacity for love and loyalty is immense. She’s happiest when she’s by your side, soaking up pets and cuddles, ready to bring joy and laughter into your life every day! Waffles needs a home where she can be the focus of attention, with a family that understands her needs and is committed to providing the stability and training she requires. If you’re an experienced dog lover with a large yard and a lot of love to give, Waffles could be the perfect match for you! To make sure that Waffles has a great start with her new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Are you ready to welcome this sweet, playful girl into your life? If so, Waffles is eager to find a new loving home where she can continue to grow and thrive. Could it be with you? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing Waffles into your family!

Story
Available for Adoption: 10/12/2024 Applications need to be approved before a meet and greet will be set up for any Fetching Hearts Rescue dogs. Meet Ms. Piggy!!! Miss Piggy is one loving girl who came in to the rescue along with all her siblings. We named them after the Muppets. They are all just amazing, big, and loving. Miss Piggy is one of the smallest siblings, but has a heart of gold. She enjoys running around with her friends and siblings. Miss Piggy does not care for toys currently, as she is all about her people. Loves getting pets, kisses and cuddles. She is a typical pup who will run around and be a typical pup, but then will take a nap. She cannot wait to have a home to cuddle up on a couch or with her humans. Miss Piggy would benefit from training classes, as every pup does. She would love to learn commands and how to be the best girl ever going forward. We take pups seriously as they cannot be left alone for longer periods of time during the day. We require socializing, fun time, napping, training and attention. Apply for Ms. Piggy today or one of her siblings. She cannot wait to find her forever family to grow up with and make all kinds of amazing memories. She is up for adventures and family trips.
