Story
Meet Cooksi! This sweet 4-year-old, 45lb Lab mix is a gentle girl with soulful eyes and a heart that’s slowly learning just how good life can be. After spending most of her life in a quiet, rural setting, Cooksi has recently landed in the big, noisy city—and while that’s been a lot to take in, she’s adjusting beautifully. She can be shy at first, especially with new people or environments, but if you give her a calm hello and a little patience, she’ll quickly flop over and politely (then not-so-politely) demand belly rubs, complete with a paw tap or two to make sure you don’t forget she’s there. At home, Cooksi is an absolute dream. She’s fully housebroken, crate-trained, and happily sleeps through the night or a full workday without issue. Her crate is a cozy, positive space where she eats and rests, though she may occasionally remind you—with a soft little cry—that she’d rather be out hanging with you. She loves lounging on the couch or her dog bed, chewing on bones, and collecting toys… and sometimes random items like gloves or laundry, just to keep things interesting. She’s not a velcro dog, but she does like being nearby, quietly keeping you company while she naps (which she does expertly).Walks are still a work in progress for Cooksi. She enjoys calm, low-key strolls where she can sniff around and keep an eye on squirrels and birds, but busy streets, loud noises, and lots of activity can feel overwhelming. When things get hectic, she’d much rather do her business and head back to the safety of home. She’s treat-motivated, eager to please, and gaining confidence every day—especially when she has another dog around to help show her the ropes. Cooksi would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands her sensitive nature and is happy to let her blossom at her own pace. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate, toy-hoarding best friend who just wants to be near her people. ??If you’d like to take this pupper home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $300 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heart

Story
Mac is a 4 year old pure breed Black Lab. We got him from a breeder in Pennsylvania at 8 weeks old. He is very friendly around people. He is reactive around other dogs but not aggressive. He will just sniff them. He will run after cats and squirrels and possibly other animals. Unknown as to what he will do because he has never caught any of them. He is a goof ball, he knows the basic commands like sit, stay, lay, come, down etc. but he seems to not listen to us when he is distracted. We have picked up second jobs because we have college age kids that need tuition paid. With everyone being gone throughout the day, he is crated and that is not fair to him. He went from having someone home to just being in a crate all day long.

Story
Bugsy is lab mixed with german shepherd and plott hound. He is loyal to his family and will stay by your side. He loves to be with family and running really fast when he goes outside, so he will need a fenced yard. He will be 2 years old July 1st. Bugsy was raised side by side with his littermate sister and two cats. He has not shown any aggression but will bark non stop at intruders and is cautious of people that don’t live in the home when they approach family. He is house trained but needs set bathroom times so he knows what to expect. Bugsy is crate trained and loves bones and eating good food. He was raised on a partial raw diet along with kibble. Bugsy loves playing in water and will hunt rabbits and squirrels (but has not caught any). He is looking to be rehomed at no fault of his own, but because I am pregnant with my third baby and unfortunately do not have enough energy to care for two children under 3 and two dogs. He can be rehomed with or without his sister, Biscuit.

Hey! I'm roscoe, I’m 50% fluff, 40% lover, 10% attitude and 100% done with your nonsense. A senior gentleman looking for a quiet retirement where I can judge passersby from a comfortable window seat. I'm calm, easy-going and all the shelter staff and volunteers say I'm a "good boy"!! I give the best cuddles, enjoy sun-bathing (summer body is LOADING) but my favortie thing to do is anything with my human! I do well with fur-companions like other dogs and cats. People love saying hi to me on walks, I think it's the face that get's them everytime but little do they know I'm happier to see them than they are to see me! I'm a very smart, relaxed senior guy who thrives with a simple routine! Let's enjoy my retirement together!

Story
Gloria is a kind-hearted dog that needs someone with more time to spend with her. We would love to give her to a home with people who like to be outdoors so she can go on more hikes and walks. She is about 6 years old, but has puppy energy in all the best ways. She loves to run around the backyard and chase squirrels. Gloria can hike for many miles and loves climbing up rocky terrain. She is cuddly and loves to stare at you longingly with her sweet brown eyes. Gloria is great with cats and children. She is crate trained, trained to pee on pads and will let you know when she needs to be let out to go potty. She knows basic commands and overall is a very intelligent dog. We are sure she can learn more difficult commands with due time and effort. As much as we love Gloria, she does suffer from separation anxiety, and due to our busy schedules, we’ve found it harder to manage. She needs a family that will take the time to care for her specific needs and love her just like we have.

Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾💙 Meet Mickey — Your Future Best Friend (and Professional Joy Bringer) 💙🐾 Male • ~4 Months Old • ~28 lbs (expected 55–60 lbs full grown) Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees Mix (best guess) If happiness had four legs and a wagging tail… it would look a whole lot like Mickey. 💛 At just 4 months old, Mickey is already mastering the art of being the perfect mix of playful puppy and snuggly sweetheart. He’s the kind of pup who greets life with a happy heart, a curious nose, and a “what are we doing next?!” attitude. Currently around 28 pounds, Mickey is on track to grow into a big, lovable, adventure-ready companion — the kind of dog who can keep up on the trails and then happily crash at your feet (or in your lap… he hasn’t quite figured out his future size yet). Mickey is: • Wonderful with people of all sizes • Great with other dogs • Doing fantastic with house training (smart boy alert!) • A total lover of life and all things fun Cats are still unknown, but at his young age, with proper introductions, he should do just fine. Now let’s talk about his specialties — because Mickey is a certified puppy professional: • Zoomies (fast, frequent, and slightly dramatic) • Toy collecting (sharing optional) • Exploring everything like it’s brand new (because it is!) • Giving you that look that says “I’m cute, you forgive me, right?” • Falling asleep mid-play because being this adorable is exhausting He’s a little sponge right now, soaking up the world and learning all the good stuff — routines, manners, and how to be someone’s very best friend. Mickey would be the perfect fit for a family who wants a dog that will: • Be active and playful • Love deeply and snuggle often • Join in on adventures big and small • Bring daily laughs (and probably a few “what are you doing?!” moments) Mickey isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his people. The ones who will laugh at his puppy antics, love him through his growing-up phase, and cherish him for the amazing dog he’s becoming. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Mickey bring the love, the laughs, and the puppy magic into your life. 🐾💛
