Story
Kilo is a 2-year-old retriever mix who came to us as a stray on 12/08, and he’s been winning hearts ever since. This sweet boy sits quietly with a wagging tail, happily gives kisses, and will often roll over in true submissive fashion. He has a loose, relaxed body and calmly accepts all pets and interactions—he’s a total love bug.Kilo walks easily on leash and has plenty of youthful energy to burn. He knows sit (especially when treats are involved!) and is eager to engage with his people. When re-assessed with other dogs on 12/14, Kilo showed that he enjoys canine company. He greeted dogs appropriately, took corrections when needed, and initiated play. He’s best described as social with a push-and-pull play style and would do well with compatible dog friends and proper introductions. If you’re looking for an affectionate, energetic companion who’s equal parts playful and cuddly, Kilo is ready to bring the love (and the kisses) to his forever home.

Story
Darla is a 5-year-old retriever mix with a loving heart, a smart brain, and a whole lot of devotion to her people. Darla is great with dogs, kids, and people and truly thrives on companionship. She rides wonderfully in the car, settles nicely once she feels secure, and is described by fosters as a fast learner, very smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. She knows come, no, and leave it, enjoys walks, cuddles, and being right in bed with you. Toys aren’t her thing—but treats, tennis balls, and bones absolutely are!She has lived as both an indoor and outdoor dog and is reported to be house trained (though some reinforcement may be needed in a new environment). She walks on leash for bathroom breaks and overall does well, though continued leash and crate training would benefit her. Darla does struggle with separation anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone—she may cry at first and can be a bit of a chewer, especially if food is involved. With consistency, structure, and a patient home, she showed noticeable improvement in just a couple of days in foster care.Important notes:-Loves dogs & kids-Unknown with cats-Can be a bit of an escape artist if fencing isn’t secure, so a secure yard or leash walks are preferred! -Enjoys chew toysDarla would do best in a home with a flexible schedule, possibly multiple people, and a willingness to continue training and confidence-building. With a few weeks of consistency, she has all the potential to be an incredible, loyal companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, social, affectionate girl who just wants to be loved and included—Darla is ready to meet you.

Story
Meet Daisy Mae — a 7-month-old, 31-pound sweetheart with a gentle soul and a playful spirit, once she feels safe. While she may be shy at first, this lovable pup has so much love to give to a patient and understanding family.Daisy Mae is thriving in foster care and continues to show just how smart and adaptable she is. She is fully house-trained, kennel-trained, and leash-trained, and knows commands like “sit,” “paw,” and “kennel.” While Daisy Mae previously lived with four dogs of various sizes and got along wonderfully with all of them. She has shown a gentle and submissive play style in the past, and would likely enjoy the company of a friendly, well-mannered dog. She’s also been around cats and, though initially excited, learned to respect their space and became more neutral over time.Daisy Mae can be fearful of new people and loud noises. She may bark or retreat when meeting strangers, but don’t let that fool you — once she warms up, she’s incredibly snuggly, silly, and sweet. Her favorite toy is a stuffed dog plushie, which she sleeps with every night like a security blanket. After a long day, Daisy Mae loves nothing more than curling up under the covers with her person. She’s attentive, sensitive, and a quick learner. With time, patience, and lots of gentle encouragement (and treats!), she will truly shine.Daisy Mae would do best in a calm, quiet home with a patient family, and ideally, a confident dog friend to help her build trust. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give her the time she needs to blossom, Daisy Mae might be the perfect fit. She’s currently in foster care outside of the shelter. He loves cuddles, attention, and quiet companionship, making him a perfect lap dog for someone looking for a low-key, loving friend.Ozzy enjoys toys of all kinds—bones, squeaky toys, plush toys, and chew toys—and is motivated by treats. He has a relaxed body, wags his tail, sits for treats, and walks fairly well on leash, though he may need guidance around other dogs. He loves to sniff and explore, but he prefers to take things at his own pace, especially around new people or animals.Ozzy is house-trained and kennel/crate-trained and knows commands like sit, lay, come (sometimes), and cage. He’s happiest in a calm, quiet home where he can chill, cuddle, and feel safe. He has previously lived with a toddler, and can be spooked by sudden/fast movements. Ozzy is heartworm positive, but with proper veterinary care, he can live a happy, healthy life. He loves affection and will reward a patient, understanding adopter with loyalty, love, and companionship.-Energy Level: Moderate (6/10)-Likes: Cuddles, attention, bones, squeaky toys, plush toys, chew toys, sniffing-Commands: Sit, Lay, Cage, Come (sometimes)-Special Considerations: Can be more nervous around dogs, strangers, loud noises, and children; needs a calm, patient homeOzzy is a sweet, loving boy who just wants a peaceful home, gentle affection, and someone to relax with him.
