She has a history of being malnourished, so she’s a little timid at first—but with patience, trust, and love, she blossoms into a joyful, affectionate companion. Saylor is a “dog’s dog” and would thrive with a playful canine sibling to show her how wonderful life can be in a loving home. She also gets along with cats and is gentle with children, though she would do best with older kids due to her sensitivity to sudden movements and loud noises. This sweet girl loves cuddles on the couch, playing with toys, and lounging in the sun. She’s currently learning potty and puppy manners, and she has a fear of cars, so a home with a fenced yard for safe play is ideal. She is friendly with kids and enjoys the company of other dogs, making her a nice fit for a social household. Cats are currently unknown. Based on what we’ve been told and what we’re seeing, Elfie appears to be a Labrador Retriever / Belgian Malinois–type mix. This combination often produces dogs that are smart, athletic, and people-oriented. Elfie is expected to mature into a medium to large adult dog, likely in the 50–65 lb range. Elfie is still very much a puppy and will benefit from continued training, structure, and regular exercise as she grows.
