Story
Hi, I'm Jack! I'm an 12 year old (mostly) Lab, looking to become part of a family and provide them with lots of love and companionship. My foster says I have a great personality and easy-going nature. I'm hoping to find a family that will provide a safe fenced yard for me to run around in, but I also enjoy long walks and do well on a leash. My foster will tell you how quiet I am, and while I don't like vacuum cleaners or the sound of lawn mowers, I'm not scared during thunderstorms or 4th of July fireworks. I do have to see my 'dog'tor a lot, but I am a really good patient! She calls me a lemon, but I just don’t see the resemblance to the yellow fruit. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to a lot of stuff, so I have to get allergy meds and shots, and I eat a special dog food. No matter how cute I make myself look, I do not get any treats, because my foster and 'dog'tor say they will make me itchy. I'm a really good boy for getting my paws wiped when I come inside, because the grass can make my feet itchy when my allergies are bad. Sometimes my ears get really uncomfortable and I have to get them checked, cleaned and medicated. I have had some painful infections in the past, so my ears can be sensitive. I'm housebroken and good about signaling when I need to go outside, but it would be great to have my own doggie door so I can go outside on my own. I’m embarrassed to say that I do have accidents on occasion; my old bladder can’t always hold it until I can get outside, so hard floors and puppy pads are my friends. I know and follow a few commands and I get along fine with kids, cats and kittens, but I'm not much for getting along with other dogs. Most important, I'm calm and loving and I very much like to snuggle! Even though I need a bit of extra help, I have more than enough love to give to make upfor it. My foster or 'dog'tor can tell you more about what I need to support me in my golden years. I'm one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I look forward to meeting you and showing you how much love and companionship I have to offer! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our application here: http://www.rchsks.org/our-animals/adopt-a-pet/adopting-a-dog. By filling out the application you are not committing yourself to adopting; it's a screening process that must be completed before you meet the dog. Please do this BEFORE calling. Our voicemail is only checked periodically and you can reach us much faster via dog-coordinators@rchsks.org. Thank you!
