Story
Joplin loves other dogs but likes to play rough. He takes correction well and has been to doggy daycare. When it comes to kids, he can be kinda rough when excited so maybe not small children. He will steal food from kids if the opportunity presents itself. Joplin is potty trained and goes into his kennel easily. He is a people please and listens when you say "no. He knows commands sit, down, kennel, shake, and spin. Joplin has come pretty far with his indoor manners. He hasn't had an accident inside in months, hasn't chewed any shoes lately, not generally destructive indoors. I buy him large beef cheek rolls to chew on because smaller chews do not last very long lol. He is a very active dog and can be obsessive over things like the squirrels and birds in the backyard. I have a 6 foot privacy fence that he used to try to dig under but has not lately. He still digs holes in the yard if not watched though, he loves to dig! He really likes to hang out in the yard no matter the weather. Joplin is kind of hard to walk as he gets distracted by anything that moves and will cross in front of and behind you. Its better to walk him on a quieter path, not near traffic and loads of people. He is extremely friendly but does get spooked by unexpected things on walks, will bark and put up hackles. When he's excited, his manners go out the window. He will start jumping on people and sometimes will get your hand instead of the toy if playing. When we wind down for the night, Joplin loves to cuddle. He has no boundaries and wants to be in your lap or sleeping as close to you as possible. Definitely likes the company of other dogs around the house. He's a pretty big sweetie in general, not at all aggressive. I think he would appreciate a home with more activity than mine (more people to play with and also a dog that likes to play)

Story
Miss Kirby was adopted as a puppy and recently returned into care due to adopters not having time to work with her. She is underweight and has a leg issue that we are going to be looking into. She is settlng right in. She is enjoying the soft blankets, lots of chew toys, and new foster brothers. She is already learning to sit. Her walk is kinda wonky but this girl has a heart of pure gold. She is cat and dog friendly. She loves to cuddle with my male resident dog. And when her zoomies fade out she passes smooth out for 10 min or so and ready to play again. We will continue to work on manners and getting her up to weight. I cannot wait to see her bloom into her full potential.

Story
Are you looking for that perfect senior pet? Meet Chicago! Chicago is a 15-year-old male McNabb mix and is one of the sweetest old farts that you will ever meet. He gets along with everyone and everything he meets, except for those icky annoying fluffy squirrel things! Your yard will forever be squirrel free if he is on the job! "" Just like other senior citizens, Chicago has a few minor health issues and is on a daily medicine regimen. The most visible issue is his tremors. Some days they're really noticeable, other days you'd never even know he has them. These are due to his arthritis BUT they do not stop him from enjoying life one bit. This boy is ACTIVE!! He literally runs circles around my resident husky! He loves to run around the yard, chase his tail, chase the icky squirrels, and basically is a totally goofy boy. He makes us laugh quite often with his antics. When it's time to settle down, he absolutely adores his cuddles!! He is perfectly content laying right next to your lap getting scratches all night while you watch TV or read a book. Bedtime is no different. His favorite spot is at the foot of the bed curled up by your feet. He's had a long hard time in life but now he is enjoying living out his best life as a Beauties & Beast Alumni. Interested in meeting Chicago? He's interested in meeting you!

Story
Bruce is such a sweet boy but it takes a little bit of time for him to trust new people and relax. Bruce is smart and thrives with good leadership. He will always need a strong leader and proper introductions to new people. He knows sit, shake, and wait. His boarding buddy has been working with him on not pulling on leash as well as how to handle strangers who may be near him on walks. Bruce enjoys playing with other dogs in doggy daycare. He has some separation anxiety when left so he needs to be crated when the humans are gone. Bruce needs a quiet home without a lot of visitors and without children. He is waiting in boarding and we hope this sweet boy gets the family he deserves soon! Bruce was deemed a potentially dangerous dog (PDD) by the city and must have an adopter or foster out of Wichita city limits.

Story
Sadly Apollo's owner died and the next of kin stated that he's been aggressive with family members and no one wanted him. He was placed on the euth list at the Wichita Animal shelter with a deadline. Thankfully a Beauties foster wanted to give this sweet old guy a chance and heal his broken heart too. He left the shelter and was introduced to his new foster brother Chicago, also available for adoption! He also received a much needed nail trim and restored some pep in his step, the long nails must have been so painful for him. The foster said he has been the sweetest boy.

Story
Loki came to us from the shelter in Ponca City, OK in late spring 2021. Loki is super sweet on walks. He is a typical herding breed and gets excited and can nip at times which is why no children in the home would be best. He needs consistent training and he corrects well verbally or with a water bottle. He sits like a champ for a treat and loves to shake. He will need a structured home and strong leader to bring out his best qualities. He is a smart boy and would benefit so much in a foster or adopter's home so that he can have the love and attention he deserves. Loki has not done well meeting other dogs and at this time, will need a home without other dogs to be safe.
