Story
Hi, I'm Jack! I'm an 12 year old (mostly) Lab, looking to become part of a family and provide them with lots of love and companionship. My foster says I have a great personality and easy-going nature. I'm hoping to find a family that will provide a safe fenced yard for me to run around in, but I also enjoy long walks and do well on a leash. My foster will tell you how quiet I am, and while I don't like vacuum cleaners or the sound of lawn mowers, I'm not scared during thunderstorms or 4th of July fireworks. I do have to see my 'dog'tor a lot, but I am a really good patient! She calls me a lemon, but I just don’t see the resemblance to the yellow fruit. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to a lot of stuff, so I have to get allergy meds and shots, and I eat a special dog food. No matter how cute I make myself look, I do not get any treats, because my foster and 'dog'tor say they will make me itchy. I'm a really good boy for getting my paws wiped when I come inside, because the grass can make my feet itchy when my allergies are bad. Sometimes my ears get really uncomfortable and I have to get them checked, cleaned and medicated. I have had some painful infections in the past, so my ears can be sensitive. I'm housebroken and good about signaling when I need to go outside, but it would be great to have my own doggie door so I can go outside on my own. I’m embarrassed to say that I do have accidents on occasion; my old bladder can’t always hold it until I can get outside, so hard floors and puppy pads are my friends. I know and follow a few commands and I get along fine with kids, cats and kittens, but I'm not much for getting along with other dogs. Most important, I'm calm and loving and I very much like to snuggle! Even though I need a bit of extra help, I have more than enough love to give to make upfor it. My foster or 'dog'tor can tell you more about what I need to support me in my golden years. I'm one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I look forward to meeting you and showing you how much love and companionship I have to offer! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our application here: http://www.rchsks.org/our-animals/adopt-a-pet/adopting-a-dog. Story
Mia Mae is an almost 1 year old mix of all the things. You’ll fall in love with her blocky little head, spotted tongue, perky ears and curly tail. She’s a one of a kind! Due to some recent health issues, her family is no longer able to keep her and is hoping to find her a new forever home with people that will spoil and love her. Mia is a bit of a velcro dog and loves to be where her people are. She thinks you need her help with everything that you do! She LOVES to play in water, a game of fetch, a good bone to chew on and car rides! While she may be sweet and cuddly at times, she still has a lot of puppy in her and sometimes her orneriness gets her in trouble. She is still working on some of her manners, like not jumping on people when she meets them, stealing the remote or chewing on shoes. She’s’s so smart, and learns things quickly tho! She knows touch, sit and down and is completely potty trained. She also goes straight to her kennel when you tell her it’s bedtime.
