Story
Grumpy – The Sweetest “Grumpy” You’ll Ever Meet Don’t let the name fool you — Grumpy is not grumpy at all. He’s about 2 years old and is one of the biggest love bugs you’ll ever meet. His favorite place is right next to his person, whether that’s on the couch, in a chair, or curled up in bed. He just wants to be close and loved. Grumpy has been in a foster home since August and has a very calm, affectionate personality. He would do best with someone who wants a loyal companion and constant cuddle buddy. We are told he was previously trained as an emotional support dog, and he truly seems to love being with his person and relaxing together. Grumpy is vaccinated and healthy. He does need a home without cats. He’s a sweet, loving dog who just wants a forever home where he can be someone’s best friend.

Story
We have a very special dog for you to meet. His name isn't unique or outstanding but his story and his personality certainly are! This is Buddy. Buddy arrived into foster care 12/7/24. No, thats not a typo. Buddy has been in foster care for over a year. He was 6mo old when we got him and sadly, Buddy had Anaplasmosis. Anaplasmosis; also known as tick borne disease; caused Buddy to have dangerously low platelet counts. He was one of those special babies we just wanted to wrap in bubble wrap to keep him safe but Buddy had other plans. He wanted to dog. He wanted to play. He wanted to run with his foster siblings. Carefully and under the very watchful eye of his foster mom; he did! Buddy got to be a dog. Buddy has fought to get healthy for a year. A year of prednisone and sometimes other meds when he had complications to be healthy enough to safely neuter and live a normal life. Buddy WON!! He took his meds like a champ and he learned every day! We are ecstatic to say Buddy is finally healthy! His blood counts have held without the meds!! On the outside he looks like a normal dog. Ok, maybe a little chunky but prednisone does that. On the inside he's steel from fighting his hard won battle. Buddy is officially ready to find his forever!! Here's what's most important to know about Buddy's future forever home. He's a very determined boy who needs a home that can not only set but maintain boundaries!! This is non-negotiable for him. He's a big boy and sometimes stubborn. Buddy is good with other dogs of all sizes. Buddy is very gentle when taking treats from children, when hes told to and his boundaries are in place. Cats are a hard no. Buddy is house trained and pretty good on a leash. He does still pull but he didn't get much practice as a pup because of his health issues. It was to risky to expose him to potential bites ect. When Buddy came to us his counts were so low that trimming a nail to short could be life threatening so he wasn't taken for many walks. He will need practice. Buddy is an amazing dog and has fought so hard to get to this point. He deserves the world!! Buddy does get along easier and faster with women than men but he loves everyone. Buddy is a special case. But he will forever be your Buddy if you let him.

Tiny (neutered male)3 years - Labrador Retriever mix (56lbs) Enrolled in Puppies for Parole obedience programHousebrokenBasic obedience (walks on leash, sit, stay, down, come)Dog friendlyOwner surrenderedDescribed as active - playful Pros: Rides in car - playful Good w/ women, men, children, other dogs and catsFrom the staff:Tiny literally gets along with EVERYTHING! Cats and dogs all the way around, we haven’t found a dog he doesn’t get along with. Super submissive! The only problem he would have with kids is jumping and being mouthy, but once he calms down, he does really well with new people! He was potty trained before he even went out to the prison so I’m sure he’ll be excellent once he comes back with that as well. Was definitely staff favorite and we’re so proud of how far he’s come!Adoption Fee: $20(sponsored by generous donor)____Tiny has been selected for Puppies for Parole - an 8 week obedience training program where he will learn basic commands and be potty trained. He leaves March 27 and can be adopted at any time. Tiny`s adoption fee is $20 and includes his neuter, up-to-date vaccinations and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and on a monthly preventative.

Socks (spayed female) 2 years - Labrador mix (49lbs) - stray Adoption Fee: $20(sponsored by generous donor)From foster:Socks is the most gentle puppy I have ever seen! I have 6 children, aging from 1-17 and she’s so gentle. She’s playful and enjoys to cuddle! She really has a great personality all around! She gets along with other dogs and has never shown signs of aggression. She likes to chase my cats but doesn’t hurt them. We are working on not doing that. We are also working on potty training. She will make someone an amazing pet!
