Story
Hi my name is Sissy. I am a 5.5 year old Lab mix and I originally came to Almost Home as a stray. I was adopted out and recently returned because I decided I know longer wanted to share my home with another dog and cats. I would love a home where I can be an only pet and be a princess. I am very nervous meeting new people. When I get super excited or nervous I smile and it scares a lot of people, but it is harmless. I love toys and you can usually find me carrying one around in my mouth. I am spayed, current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped.

Story
Sugar is a 9mo old lab bully mix..alot more lab than bully and she's a big girl! She was loved but never exposedto the world outside of her home resulting in alot of fear..her go to is to drop to the ground and hope to the heavens that no one can see her. We are working on just walking with a leash and that's a huge ask for her..she does make progress every day. She needs a family that can help her..the biggest need is time and patience. Of you can give her alot of time fo4 a few months she will be perfect havi g a guide dog (calm and confident dog to lead her and help her learn normal dog behavior) she loves peopleand kids but does not know her size and she is very strong especially when frightened and her flight instinct kicks in. Sh3 needs a family ready to help her and give her the best life. Please contact us for your adoption application she has 6 siblings also looking for homes.

Story
**Meet Chase!** He’s a loving and sweet boy just looking for a forever home to share his affection. Chase came to us as an owner surrender; his previous family could no longer care for him, and understandably, he was upset when they left. However, it didn’t take long for him to bond with our staff, who quickly became his new friends.Chase is incredibly food motivated and eager to learn, making him a trainable companion. He thrives on affection and attention, so he needs someone willing to give him all the love he deserves. This adorable pup enjoys cuddles, kisses, and endless playtime with his favorite toys. As he continues to build his confidence, Chase is learning new tricks every day. If you’re looking for a sweet companion to share your life with, Chase might just be the perfect match! Come meet him and see how he can brighten your days!***All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested before adoption.******We can not guarantee that a dog will be good with children, dogs, or cats. You'll need a meet & greet if you currently have a dog.******To do this safely and effectively, your dog will need to be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations before approval of a dog adoption through Boone Area Humane Society.***All animals have been spayed/neutered, have been tested for heartworm/feline leukemia, have had age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, is on flea and parasite prevention and has been microchipped.

Story
My name is Lenny and I am a black labrador retriever mix. I am a neutered male and I am 2 years and 3 months old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 02/21/2025 due to the fact they just didn`t have time for me. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am potty trained. I am a high energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. The shelter staff is not sure if I am used to being crated during the day. I am great about walking nicely on leash. I would do well with simple obedience training to help us bond and for us to learn how to communicate with each other. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home or yard, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally get out a door or escape the yard. I would like a standard height fence to help keep me inside the yard. I do not do well with children I can be good with men, women, and children. I cannot live with other dogs, and staff are still learning how I do with cats. All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.

Story
Hello, my name is Peanut. I am almost 8 year old Chocolate Lab. I have a white spot on my chest that looks like the Yellowstone symbol. I love to run so whoever adopts me will need to have a fence, I can't stop the urge to run and smell all the things. I like to be on the go.
