Story
I am a playful guy who can be apprehensive around new people. I have been known to bark at new people and need time to accept them. I enjoy treats, One of my favorite treats are peanut butter, I really like the Jif Natural Creamy...I can't get enough of it! Treats have really helped me learn that new people are good and trustworthy here at the shelter. And once I trust you get ready for PLAYTIME! I love running and playing in the yard, and will run up and hug you showering you with kisses! At first I wasn't sure about the other dogs here at the shelter, but after traveling and going through obedience training with Molly I am more interested in seeing and meeting other dogs. I do like kids, sometimes I can get carried away and knock them over when I get really excited. I completed basic obedience training with Molly on January 14th, I know how to sit and am able to stay for a few seconds, I'm very good with "leave it" too. If you think you have it in your heart to welcome me into your home, you should apply for me today! Story
Hi all, I came to Safe Haven from another shelter and I'm quickly becoming a favorite to visit. I'm a happy-go-lucky guy who wants to just cuddle with everyone I meet. I have a reputation for being quite the loudmouth here, I really don't like being left alone and will bark and howl when left alone. But I am very happy to go outside and play or even settle down for some time for indoor cuddles and play. I really love balls, if I could I would gather all of them up and keep them for myself. I am really looking forward to meeting you, please put in your application today. Story
Cheerio! Whose personality matches exactly that as his name implies, and is SERIOUSLY as sweet as honey! Cheerio boy is as velcroey as can be to ALL people, BUT the best part is he's not often so excited that he will jump up. (& weighing a little over 60 pounds at 3 years old, it is LOVELY) He loves nothing more than playing some ball and then coming in to get loved on! Before you know it, he's everybody's best friend, and has TRULY never met a stranger- just someone who hasn't loved on him yet! He has gotten along with all other dogs, and kids! He is such a sweetheart! Not to mention, this young man knows all of his basics; crate-trained, house-broke, AND has amazing manners. He's quite honestly that perfect 50/50 mix between brilliant and a goofball, who's willing to join his person in just about anything, and makes ANY activity fun! Or of course, is perfectly content chewing on a bone, eating the treats out of a kong, or napping while his people are away! Cheerio is an absolute snuggle bug, very quickly placing his head in laps for some pets, and making his best attempts at being a tiny-little lap dog! We know he will do amazingly in just about any loving home, that is well prepared for some playful traits, loving Labrador traits!!

Story
Meet Abby!Abby is a young Lab mix that was found as a stray, and brought to our shelter for a safe place to stay. After no one came forward to claim her we started getting her ready for adoption. We are estimating Abby to be 1 - 2 years old, and she currently weighs 45 - 50 pounds. She is a very sweet, active girl that is looking for a family that can spend time exercising her, taking her for walks/runs, and working her mind with basic training and commands. Abby is a very smart and is very willing to please for treats, and toys. She has done well meeting all people, but due to her energy level, and needing to work on some basic manners her ideal home would be one with out kids. Abby does have a docked tail, but we are unsure if she was born that way or if it was done by a previous owner. Either way it gives her a unique look! Abby has spent some time in a foster home, and we have noted that she seems to thrive as the only pet in her future home without other dogs, cats, or other small animals. Abby truly just needs a home that can work her mentally, and physically to make her the amazing dog that we know she can be. She has the drive to please, and combability to be a dog that would do great at number of jobs in the right home.Abby's adoption fee is $200, and she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and she will be kept up to date on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm while in our care.
