Story
Sweet, handsome Roosevelt is hoping his forever family comes for him soon so he still has time to enjoy these last bits of summer. This boy would love nothing more than a car ride down to the river to take a dip and to feel the breeze in his face. He'd love to nap outside to enjoy the warmth of the sun and the soft grass in his very own yard. A stroll through the prairie, a visit to the Whippy Dip for a Pup Cup, or a hike through the woods-Roosevelt would make the perfect buddy or family dog!! At around six years old this boy still has a lot of love to give and a lot of living to do. For more information on sweet Roosevelt or to fill out an adoption application visit www.hsnei.org/adoptabledogs today!!

Story
Roog is a great dog, loves kids and people. He would be best in a home with another dog, I think he would really benefit from having a friend. But he also sometimes doesn’t understand his size with small children , he doesn’t watch when he’s running. He doesn’t mind cats, he either just watches or tries to play. He does need someone with more time to train. He is potty trained. He can sit, shake, lay down, take it nice and is okay on “stay”. But he does need training on a leash, he was only on it for the vet or else he has free roam of house and big fenced in yard. He does get hyper as a 3 year old boy would. But he’s also very chill and calm and just wants to lay by you and get all the loves. Life has unfortunately just been changing and I will no longer have the time for him anymore, I won’t be home and he absolutely deserves to have someone and or a fur buddy. You’d be so lucky to be his new mama/daddy. He has been the best companion for me.

Story
Life goals?? To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 4 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her previous foster family had shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love!   Luna's biggest obstacle is that she is dog reactive, so she needs to be the only pet in a home with a fenced yard.   Luna is currently in boarding and working on training, but really needs a home to call her very own.   More about Luna:  50lbs 100% potty-trained  crate-trained  a well-mannered girl who is a good listener!   LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? )  will show off her tricks for some yummy treats!  affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! )  would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her!   continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day!  ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements:  A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content!  Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Luna can be anxious around younger kids.  So a home with kids 12+ is needed for this girl.  Luna is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, so please reach out if you think she possibly sounds like a good fit for you. APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Luna’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1817860##

Story
This cutie is Kira! She is a happy-go-lucky 1 year old girl who is labeled as a lab (+ probably pittie) mix. She weighs-in right around 45lbs, so is just the most perfect medium-sized pup! Kira (female) joined the New Leash family from North Carolina, and has been learning all about the ins & outs of home life since her arrival! Some of her favorite things include belly rubs and attention + spoils from her humans. She loves going for walks, but is also A-OK with a good ol’ lazy day @ home. Her foster mom works from home, and Kira makes the most perfect office mate. She doesn’t bark, curls up in a cuddly ball, and settles in for the day! Kira is crate-trained; she kennels-up easily when her humans leave, and sleeps in her crate throughout the night. She does very well with other dogs (of all ages, sizes, etc.), but does like to roughhouse/play…so can sometimes be a little “much” for senior and/or smaller dogs. She would do best with a pup-friend who can keep up with her + reciprocate her play! She does ok with the resident cat, but again can be a bit rough…so would do best in a home with dog-savvy kitties who are able to hold their own. Of note: she’s never mean, she just wants to play! Kira is completely potty-trained (win!) and has done an amazing job adapting to a schedule. Once settled into this routine, her accidents have been next to none. Another perk: she’s also familiar with a doggy-door! Kira knows how to sit, is working on “down,” is very food motivated (& gets SO excited for food/treat time! ), and loves toys. She is still a young gal, and is continuing to work on all of her good-girl manners! She tends to get excited and displays some herding behaviors (feet nipping) when her humans are going down the stairs. And while having improved greatly, does still occasionally jump up on people when excited. Because of this, we’d recommend kiddos in the home who are past the toddler stage! She can also pull on walks, and does much better walking with a harness vs a collar. While Kira continues to learn every day, we know she’d benefit immensely from some training classes! She is smart and catches onto things quickly, so will undoubtedly thrive once her fullest potential is unlocked! She is seriously an amazingly loving girl…with such a kind heart + zest for life! And we can’t wait to finally introduce her to the forever life she’s ever so deserving of. If she sounds like the one for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Kira! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Kira’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2203462##

Story
Meet Abby!Abby is a young Lab mix that was found as a stray, and brought to our shelter for a safe place to stay. After no one came forward to claim her we started getting her ready for adoption. We are estimating Abby to be 1 - 2 years old, and she currently weighs 45 - 50 pounds. She is a very sweet, active girl that is looking for a family that can spend time exercising her, taking her for walks/runs, and working her mind with basic training and commands. Abby is a very smart and is very willing to please for treats, and toys. She has done well meeting all people including kids! Due to how excited she can be to meet new people she may be too much for little kids but she just can't contain her outgoing, bubbly personality sometimes. Abby does have a docked tail, but we are unsure if she was born that way or if it was done by a previous owner. Either way it gives her a unique look! We have not tested Abby with other animals yet, but a meet and greet with any current dogs in the home is recommended before finalizing an adoption.Abby's adoption fee is $200, and she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and she will be kept up to date on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm while in our care. Story
LuLu came to our home because of a very abrupt change in her previous owner's life. LuLu is a very sweet, energetic dog who would do well with other energetic family members of any kind. She has done very well around my small elderly dog, by 2 cats, and my kids. She's an all around really great dog. I took her in temporarily so she wouldn't have to go back to the humane society where she originally came from, but I am unable to give her Her forever home. I am hoping to find a loving family that can provide that for her. She deserves it!
