Despite his playful nature, he has a soft side and loves to curl up in the tiniest of dog beds, making himself cozy for a nap. Story
Life goals?? To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 4 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her previous foster family had shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love!   Luna's biggest obstacle is that she is dog reactive, so she needs to be the only pet in a home with a fenced yard.   Luna is currently in boarding and working on training, but really needs a home to call her very own.   More about Luna:  50lbs 100% potty-trained  crate-trained  a well-mannered girl who is a good listener!   LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? )  will show off her tricks for some yummy treats!  affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! )  would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her!   continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day!  ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements:  A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content!  Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Luna can be anxious around younger kids.  So a home with kids 12+ is needed for this girl.  Luna is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, so please reach out if you think she possibly sounds like a good fit for you. APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Luna’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1817860##

Story
We have another Poppy—and we hope she is just as popular as the Poppy we posted earlier this week. This Poppy is about one year old and is a 50 lbs pittie mix.   She is an active playful girl who would do best in a  home with a fenced yard  or a very active family who will take her running or hiking regularly.    She could also do well on a farm where she has a job and something to keep her busy.   She loves to explore! Poppy is completely housebroke and goes right in her kennel when given the command.   She loves to chew on bones!  She does well with other dogs. She loves to go on walks, but can still pull a bit on leash. Poppy needs a family who is experienced with dogs and will commit to socializing her safely.   She can bark and lunge when meeting new people on leash.   In the home, she also barks and is not a fan of guests, but if given time and space warms up.   The key is just having the guest ignore her and let Poppy decide  who and when (or if) she wants to interact.  Treats help a lot. She will often come up and sniff the new person She is working on muzzle training, which will help her family to have more socialization for her in a healthy and positive way.   She does seem to prefer women over men.  She has not been around kids or cats. If you are an experienced dog owner/handler and have the time to help Poppy overcome some of her fear of strangers, we would love to talk to you.   She is a great dog with so much love to give.If you’re interested in adoption, please private message us or APPLY HERE if you haven’t yet: https://newleashdogrescue.com ##2050554##

Story
Harper, FKA Tilly from Jenny's litter, was adopted at 8 weeks old but was recently returned due to no fault of her own. She's currently around 35-40lbs and 4 months old. We believe she is a lab/shepherd mix. She is FULL of playful energy but loves people and other dogs. She would benefit from basic manner training as would any 4 month old puppy.  ##2222301##

Story
Meet Abby!Abby is a young Lab mix that was found as a stray, and brought to our shelter for a safe place to stay. After no one came forward to claim her we started getting her ready for adoption. We are estimating Abby to be 1 - 2 years old, and she currently weighs 45 - 50 pounds. She is a very sweet, active girl that is looking for a family that can spend time exercising her, taking her for walks/runs, and working her mind with basic training and commands. Abby is a very smart and is very willing to please for treats, and toys. She has done well meeting all people, but due to her energy level, and needing to work on some basic manners her ideal home would be one with out kids. Abby does have a docked tail, but we are unsure if she was born that way or if it was done by a previous owner. Either way it gives her a unique look! Abby has spent some time in a foster home, and we have noted that she seems to thrive as the only pet in her future home without other dogs, cats, or other small animals. Abby truly just needs a home that can work her mentally, and physically to make her the amazing dog that we know she can be. She has the drive to please, and combability to be a dog that would do great at number of jobs in the right home.Abby's adoption fee is $200, and she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and she will be kept up to date on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm while in our care.
