Story
Moose is a very active dog! He loves to play fetch, playing in snow and creeks in the summer. He is close to 90 lbs and thinks he is a lap dog. He craves lots of human interaction, but only does well with older kids and adults. We are having to rehome him due to unpredictable aggression towards small children that do not live in our home. He seems anxious/protective around them. We are hoping to find him a home that will give him lots of space to run/ play! He has not been kenneled since he turned 1, we have a bed for him in our hallway when we are gone for the day and he sleeps on the floor in our bedroom at night. He can be such a sweet boy and we are so sad we can’t keep him.

Story
Rowena is a 9-10 year old lab mix (we did a DNA test and it came back lab/chow/golden retriever/pointer and several others) - about 60 lbs. She is house/kennel trained, and definitely wants to learn how to dog! She was found in 2019 living in a wood pile in Oklahoma protecting her puppies, so has some trauma there that needs worked through and a dedicated adopter will do so much for her. She needs a very structured living environment and a strong dog-savvy owner. She loves to be outside so would enjoy a nice physically fenced yard (no invisible fencing with her history, sorry). Privacy fencing will be preferred as she guards her territory. She will not do well in an apartment setting since she has a fear of strangers and needs muzzled on walks in strange places. She has been through heartworm treatment and will require an adopter who will keep her on preventatives and regular testing. She does well with dogs as long as they aren't tiny/can't be mistaken for squirrels or rabbits. She chases cats. She is food protective with other dogs, so will need to be fed separate / in kennel as a precaution. Once she is comfortable with you, she likes to snuggle and give kisses and hugs -- but it may take a few weeks for her to warm up fully. No kids for Roe -- fast movements and small creatures with her don't mix. Her adoption fee is $250. If you have an easy-going and patient lifestyle that will give this girl the structure she needs and are interested in meeting Rowena, please put an application in at www.foreverhomedogs.org and we will set up a meet with you!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Busy pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep his body and brain busy - Excited to accompany you on lots of adventures; loves going on walks and does best with a harness - Enjoys meeting new people and will make sure he gets to say hi to everyone in the room; will greet you with some happy wiggles - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in his new home All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 60.5 Age: 3yrs 1mths 2wks
