Story
Rosie!     DOB: 1/2022     Weight: 40lbs    Rosie is a gorgeous black lab mix who is now available for adoption! She’s currently in foster where she gets along fine with the other dogs. Likes to pester the cats, but overall does well with them. Loves her people! She came into the kennels as a stray, but after looking at her we realized something was a bit off. Rosie is blind/very poor vision. Despite this issue, she has learned the house and now gets around just fine. Her head is either stuck to the ground or up in the air, checking stuff out. She’s very playful and loves to chew on her toys and snuggle up with her fur buddies on the couch. She’s house trained. Doesn’t care much for the crate though and would much rather sleep in bed with her humans.  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 1/2023. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. Story
Houdini!     DOB: 1/2022     Weight: 55lbs    He’s handsome, sweet as can be, walks like an angel on the leash, has a craving for adventure, and his name is Houdini! Appropriately named after dodging people left and right for several days on a running spree, then once caught and handed to us, busted out again . No worries though, he’s still here with us and doing fine! In fact, he’s become a favorite among regulars for being well mannered and easy to walk now. Houdini loves people, especially when they feed him lots of treats. He’s good with other dogs and cats! Rides well in the car. This sweet fella has no resource guarding issues, knows how to sit, takes handouts nicely, and tends to walk in a nice heel when out and about. His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Gertie!     DOB: 7/2019     Weight: 50lbs   Sweet Gertie has changed a lot from the scared emaciated dog we got awhile ago. She’s now healthy and very lively! Gertie is house and crate trained (although she prefers to sleep next to her humans than in a crate). Her foster says she’s very smart and quick to catch on to things. She knows sit, lay down, and shake. LOVES treats and playing with her foster siblings. Gertie is a pointer/lab mix and does have some of the typical pointer qualities. Will point and stare at small wildlife, sometimes taking off after them. She also does this with cats. Should live with a confident dog as she get carried away and needs to be told off sometimes   Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Buddy!    DOB: 2/2022     Weight: 55-60lbs    This is Buddy, but honestly, we probably should’ve named him wiggles. Always in a happy mood. Buddy loves everyone and makes the best out of every situation. He’s currently in foster where he enjoys running around the yard and playing with the other dogs. He’s loves having the company of another dog so an home with a playmate is ideal. We think he’d do ok with cats, but hasn’t been officially tested with any. He’s been well behaved in his kennel, knows how to sit, takes handouts gently. Picky with his treats, only the finest will do of course! He is house trained. Likes to chew so needs plenty of toys and needs to be crated when gone, until he becomes used to the place and can be trusted   His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Sugar!     DOB: 2/2022    Weight: 55lbs   Sugar was surrendered to our care with little info. She’s a young chocolate lab/pit mix who is spent her first two months absolutely terrified at the kennels. We’ve been working with her on the regular and she now comes up to the kennel door to get her leash on and go out for a walk. Once she’s out of those kennels, she’s a different dog. Happy as can be, wants everyone to love on her. She enjoys going for long walks and has done ok with other dogs here. She is SO food motivated, knows how to sit. She’s house trained too!  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. Story
Hey there, I'm Dennis, lovingly nicknamed "the menace" due to my goofy nature. I'm ready to tell you a little bit about myself. My walker has described me as having high energy, which means I'm always up for a good time! The more I've been in the shelter the more I've settled into my routine and have gone to more of a medium energy, especially when that first bit of excitement is done and over with. While I'm a shy guy in my kennel, out of it I'm playful, sweet, and am all about being social! I love treats an they are the best way to get me to focus when I get a little distracted. Speaking of being distracted, I absolutely love meeting new canine friends and can't wait to say hello. I tend to be pretty passive and let the other dogs take the lead when I first meet them, and if they are up for a good play session I'm all in!Oh, and did I mention I have a thing for sticks? There's just something about them that I find irresistible - they're the perfect toy for a pup like me. Overall, I'm just a happy-go-lucky boy looking for a family to call my own. If you're looking for a furry friend who's full of energy and always up for an adventure, then look no further - I'm Dennis, and I can't wait to become your loyal companion. Let's make some memories together - I promise, you won't regret it!

Story
Hi there! My name is Percy, and I'm a 5-year-old black Lab and Shar-Pei mix with a heart full of love to give. I had to say goodbye to my last home because my owner couldn't take care of me anymore, but I'm ready to find a new family to share my goofy, bashful self with. I'm known for being a bit shy at first, especially around new people and new things, but once I warm up, I become a loyal and constant companion. I love playing with stuffies and balls, and I'm crate trained, so I feel secure and comfortable in my own little space. Car rides are one of my favorite things, and I get really excited whenever I get to go on an adventure with you! When I'm out on a walk, I might seem a bit nervous at first, but with a little patience and positive reinforcement, I quickly get into the groove. I'm a gentle soul who loves to explore and sniff around, and I promise to make every walk an enjoyable experience. I might pull back or hesitate if I encounter something new, but with your encouragement, I'll learn to face the world with more confidence. I can be a bit of a goofball once I feel at home, bringing lots of smiles and laughter to those around me. My playful side really shines when I feel safe and loved. I'm not just looking for a home; I'm looking for a best friend who understands that I might need a little time to open up. Once I do, I'll be your most devoted and loving companion. If you're looking for a gentle, fun-loving dog who just needs a bit of time to show his true colors, I'm your guy. Come meet me, and let's start our journey together. I can't wait to find my forever home with you!

Story
Rowdy!    DOB: 10/2019     Weight: 60lbs   Rowdy is a 4 year old Golden Retriever mix who was surrendered to us after his owner died. He’s spent his entire life as a yard decoration on the end of a chain in the yard. So at first he wasn’t the biggest fan of us and would growl and get snappy. He’s gotten a lot better though. He’s met plenty of new people and gets out to go for walks with volunteers. He’s usually quiet in his kennel run, stands and observes. He’s not all that interested in treats, but he does like a good squeaky toy and some yard time. He is house trained! He was adopted and returned recently due to being protective over his family members. he needs to be put up when guests come over and worked with to accept people.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial.
