Story
Meet Jackson!Jackson is a 4-year-old pup with a spunky personality and the cutest wiggle butt you’ve ever seen! His happy energy is contagious, and he has a way of making everyone around him smile.Jackson came to us through a transfer from Animal Control, just like a few of our other dogs. Since arriving, he’s been settling in well and showing everyone what a fun and lovable guy he is.He does well with other dogs and has also done great with kids, which could make him a wonderful addition to many different types of families.Jackson is currently finishing up treatment after testing positive for Lyme disease, but he’s doing great and otherwise has a clean bill of health. Once his treatment is complete, he’ll be ready to start the next chapter of his life. Now all Jackson needs is a forever family who will love his goofy personality and those adorable wiggles. If you're looking for a happy, playful companion who will keep you smiling, Jackson might just be your perfect match! An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
Like smiles?? Meet Walker Texas Ranger (a satirical name, but one that fits his bold personality) is a spirited dog with a bit of mystery behind him. He was found as a stray and taken to the Butler holding pen, where both police and the humane shelter attempted to contact his owner—but there was never any response. With no one coming forward and no records to go on, his age is estimated to be around 4–5 years old.Much like his name suggests, Walker Texas Ranger is full of energy and always ready for action. He’s a spunky guy who loves to run and explore, making him a great fit for a home with plenty of space and an active lifestyle. He’s less about sitting still and more about “patrolling” his surroundings and enjoying the freedom to move.He seems to get along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to share his adventures with. His playful, lively nature makes him a fun addition to a home that can match his enthusiasm.Walker Texas Ranger may not respond to his name (he marches to the beat of his own drum), but he’s a smart dog who can learn with patience, consistency, and care. Beneath his energetic exterior is a dog ready to build a bond and finally have the stability he’s been missing. If you’re looking for a loyal, high-energy companion with a big personality and a little wild-west charm, Walker Texas Ranger is ready to ride into his new life by your side.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Rory has made tremendous steps in working around men. One of her walkers is a male and she does great with him. Still a bit shy around new people but once she warms up shes so smart and funny. Does not do well around livestock.
