Story
Hi, my name is Lucy Lu and I am a baby girl who is just looking for a loving family to take me in. They say I am a friendly pup who loves to cuddle. I am very curious about the world around me and love to give kisses when I feel comfortable with you. I am a playful little girl and would enjoy a home where I can get lots of exercise and attention. I am good on walks and love to explore. I would love to be trained by you and have a forever home to call my own. I can't wait to meet you and find out what it's like having a forever human. Name: Lucy Lu Breed: Black Labrador Mix Sex: Female Age: DOB 9/11/2024 Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced or can wait to pickup post spay Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter. Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age) Housetrained: Not yet Microchipped: Not yet Adoption Fee/Donation: $350 Important!! Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he’s older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy’s life. Do you have the time? Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter, heart worm test if applicable) microchip, worming and flea/tick/heart worm (if applicable) preventatives. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.

She is very friendly and affectionate, and loves nothing more than receiving belly rubs and lots of attention from her favourite humans. My name is Bleu and I was brought here by the Jefferson County Animal Control. They found me tied to a tree at an abandoned house. I like some other dogs but not all of them. I love to run around and play. I am house trained and I know how to sit, shake, and lay down. I love going for walks and I walk very well on a leash. I am very loving and I love to be around people. I am up to date on my shots.

Story
Macey is a 9 year of age, Labrador Retriever mix that is looking for her soft landing! Her original owner passed away earlier this year, then the family that was taking care of her had a house fire and couldn't take all the dogs with them to their new location. Macey was a faithful companion that grieved the loss of her original owner. She is kind and affectionate and likes to go for walks. She walks decently on a leash and would benefit from regular exercise. This girl came to us overweight but she changed to a better diet and looks great! Macey is house and potty trained and doesn't ask for much: healthy food, a short walk and loving attention! She is fully vetted, her bloodwork is good and she is ready to walk right into your heart! If you think you might be a good fit for Macey, please email us at blueridgerescue@aol.com There is an application process.

Story
LARRY is a special dog to us! He is a 2 year old male, mixed breed dog. A relative's DNA came back with German Shepherd, Beagle, Basset and Chow as the predominant breeds. Go figure? To us, he looks just like an English Lab. LARRY grew up in less than desirable, outdoor conditions. He was one of a backyard pack and was completely raised by canines. To his credit, he retains many of the loving qualities we love in dogs. He bonds quickly to his owner and is very loyal. He is great with other dogs. He is respectful of everything and everyone around him. For us, Larry is the consummate rescue dog. He will take a little time. There is still so much for him to experience in his new world. We initially placed Larry in a great foster home. Here, he made great strides learning how to live indoors with a family. He discovered the comfort of napping on the couch. He took delight in getting his favorite snack - Italian bread. But they could only build on his social skills so far. His confidence level was built to the point we could enroll him in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. We are pleased to report he is handling this beautifully! It is a safe and nurturing environment, yet he has to get used to a lot more activities, noises and people. If something scares him, his inmate is right there to help. In the meantime, Larry is also receiving obedience training. He is going to make someone a very nice companion. His general demeanor is quiet and gentle anyway. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Larry's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!
