Story
Meet Chloe!
Chloe, a sweet senior, found herself at a high-kill shelter in Tennessee after her mom died and no one wanted her. It’s so tough for seniors who find themselves in such an overwhelming situation. And of course, the chance of a senior getting out of animal control alive is nearly zero.
In spite of such disappointment in humans, Chloe is rebounding in her foster home, and showing she is still hopeful that there is a loving, compassionate forever family out there somewhere, who will want to make her a part of their life.
Chloe is estimated to be about 10 years old. She is a Mix, probably a Labrador Retriever Mix, weighing about 50 lbs. Chloe is a great balance between gentle & affection, and playful & energetic.
She loves people and really enjoys being with them and cuddling with them. On the other hand, she likes to play, initiating play with her canine housemate on occasion. Chloe especially enjoys hiking in the fields and woods; she generally trots or gallops….and occasionally sprints to chase a squirrel up a tree.
She currently lives with another dog who is a bit obnoxious but, she tolerates him and if too much, will retreat to her crate. She is fine living with smaller dogs too. We do not know how she’d be with cats or kids.
An ideal home for Chloe is one with another dog, although we believe Chloe would be ok as an only dog, as long as she receives plenty of attention, cuddle time, and play activities from her humans, and would be included in all family activities. Chloe likes to communicate with her family and lets them know when she wants something, so it is important that her new family be attentive to her needs.
It is important to provide Chloe with plenty of exercise to keep her joints healthy and mobile. Supplements such as glucosamine/chondroitin are also of value. Although an older girl, Chloe loves to stay active and has plenty of living yet to do.
She is up to date on all vetting, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, spayed, and microchipped.
