Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buck is a complete goof ball, he flops around with a huge smile on his face.  He loves following around other dogs and would benefit from a friend to learn more commands from.  He would spend all day chasing other dogs in the yard if he could.  Buck is crate trained and mostly potty trained.  He does not chew or tear apart toys.  He does great with kids but is a puppy still (Turns 1 in Oct 2024), so he might be too much for little kids, and he doesn't understand how to be gentle with cats either and does try to play with them (which they usually don't like).  Buck is still a bit skittish, but once he warms up he is a loving lap dog.  He knows "inside" and "crate", but is still learning other basic commands.  Buck overall is just a happy go lucky pup!  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. His adoption fee is $500 To adopt Buck fill out an application at https://www.kakf.org/forms/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 16, 2025, 7:04 pm

Story
Kourtney Female 36lbs ~7-8 months Terrier / Hound/ Lab...a true mixed breed! This is Kourtney! She is the sweetest most snuggly little girl. She is a little bit skittish towards new humans but once she gets to know you she is glued to your side. As soon as you get home or sit down she wants to be right there with you. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to run around and play with them. She is also happy to just hang out inside and play with her toys/nap. She is still young and is working on learning how the world works. She is almost house broken and doesn’t have any issues as long as she stays on a regular schedule. She does great in the crate while away. She still needs some work on the leash but seems to be very food motivated and is getting better day by day. She will make the most amazing addition to someone’s family. She would probably do best in a home that has another dog to help make her feel comfortable. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Story
Meet Cinnamon! Hi there, I’m Cinnamon, a 4.5-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of love and a gentle, playful spirit. At 26 lbs, I’m a bit smaller than my brother Cobbler, but what I lack in size, I make up for in sweetness! My black coat has a sprinkle of white, giving me the look of being dusted with cinnamon—hence my name! I’m a bit on the timid side, but once I feel safe, my playful nature shines. I love playing with other dogs and always show respect to my older canine pals. Squeaky toys and a good game of tug-of-war are my absolute favorites! I currently live with dogs of all sizes, humans of all ages, and even a cat, and I get along with everyone. I’m crate trained, nearly housebroken, and eager to learn more. Praise makes my tail wag like crazy, and I’m always ready to earn a treat or two. I recently experienced snow for the first time, and wow, what an adventure! I love exploring, meeting new people, and making new animal friends. My ideal home could include kids, pets, or just a loving human who wants a loyal and fun companion. My foster family says I’m an absolute love bug, but I’m ready to find my forever home where I can continue to grow, learn, and share all my cuddles. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and playful pup to brighten your days, I’d love to meet you! Let’s make some forever memories together! Seeking a Special Forever Foster for Wally Wally is a sweet senior dog looking for a calm and loving home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort. This gentle soul is fully housebroken, wonderful with all humans, and gets along well with other dogs. He walks nicely on a leash and is just as happy soaking up the sunshine as he is taking a leisurely stroll to enjoy the day. His quality of life tells us he has good times ahead, and he deserves a soft place to land where he can relax and be cherished. As a forever foster with Safe Haven, we provide everything Wally needs—vet care at our participating vet offices, food, leash, collar, treats, and a cozy bed. All you provide is love. ?? If you’re willing to open your heart and home to Wally, please email us today. Giving him the love and care he deserves in his golden years will be a rewarding experience for both of you.
