Meet Gabe! He is nearing his 3rd birthday and would love to celebrate this milestone with a new family!! We are not certain why there has been no interest in him. Gabe is a really sweet boy who loves to play, be around people, and also enjoys a comfy place to practice his couch potato skills! He enjoys being with the other dogs in his foster home (both large and small!). He was a favorite among the shelter workers. AND he enjoys hanging with human sisters in his foster home. We would love to see him find his forever home! We know whoever decides to give him a chance will not be disappointed! Gabe’s adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at digsk9.org. If you have questions, please email digsk9@gmail.com. Please note that we are unable to hold dogs for any reason including moves and vacations. Once approved for adoption we require the adopter to complete the adoption and take ownership of their new companion. **We do our best to accurately represent the breeds of each pet. Story
Looking for a new jogging buddy? Look no further than Trooper. As a young, athletic pup, I love to run, play, and explore. I'm also a gentle and friendly fella who loves meeting new humans and dogs alike - and I'll even give you a big ol' smile when we meet! I am curious about the world around me and love to sniff and investigate. I'm an all-around good boy and I'm looking for a family to call my own. If you're looking for a fun-loving and curious pup, apply to adopt me today! Trooper was abandoned in the rural fields of SE Missouri, he was malnourished with fur loss and skin & bones. He was fortunate to have good people trap him where he was then taken to the vet and has been living at the Bootheel Express Care Center. He is being neutered by our vet on Monday, the 9th of September and then will be ready to travel north to a lucky family to settle into forever. If you are interested in Trooper, the please place an application at www.k9ei.dog

Story
Meet Wanda! Wanda is a sweet girl that appears to have had a rough past, but she is learning very quickly how good life can be.  She can be shy at first, but with quiet calm introductions and some favorite treats she learns quickly that ear scratches and pets are wonderful Our guess is that Wanda is about a year old and is a lab-mix.  She is about 45 pounds, 2 years old, and has a pretty cream-colored coat with the sweetest butterscotch-colored ears and freckles on her face and a little matching patch over her left eye.  The tips of her ears bounce in the cutest way when she is having a nice, relaxed walk or trotting around the back yard.  Wanda has been a quiet guest in her foster home, unless it is meal time, and then she lets you know, she’s ready!  Wanda would excel in a home with a well-adjusted fur sibling to show her the ropes and to continue to help build her confidence.  If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Story
Hello!  My name is Adam. I am an affectionate, sweet and playful, medium energy, 3yr old, 28lb lab/hound mix. I like to sleep with my humans or on the floor in my own dog bed, I like both equally. I can entertain myself but I love being around other dogs. I love my fuzzy squeaky toys and can be heard playing with them in the living room all by myself. One of my favorite things to do is roll around upside down in sheets, pillows and blankets. My humans say I am adorable. Food is my favorite thing in the world, and might possibly be my love language. My foster mom and dad often call me a “good boy.” I will sit at their feet in a dog bed if they are working or next to them on the couch if they are reading or watching a movie. I love getting butt and back scratches and will verbalize adorable little grunts when you hit the right spot. Did I say I loved food? I am fostered with two small dogs (25lbs), one medium sized dog (30lbs), and one adult cat (let’s not forget the one human teenager). I get along well with the dogs but am still trying to figure out how to join the three of them in their dog play. I was not sure about the cat when I first got here but we are now ok with each other. I am learning to walk on a leash but could use some additional training. I am very friendly toward humans, even those I don't know. Did I say I love a good scratch? I love getting them even from strangers. I give good kisses but not excessively. I am also a good guard dog and will bark when someone comes to the front door. I would love a home with a fenced-in back yard where I could run around and chase the squirrels.  Are you my new family? I would love to meet you, take a walk, and sit with you as you give me scratches! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  .
