Story
Harley is a sweet three-year-old Lab mix who was recently surrendered to our facility after her family lost their home. She was originally adopted from us as a young adult, and while we’re sad to see her back, we’re grateful she was part of such a loving home where she was well cared for and socialized. Harley is a friendly, well-mannered girl who truly enjoys being around people. She has experience living in a family setting and does wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, making her an easy addition to many types of households. Playtime is one of Harley’s favorite parts of the day. She loves toys of all kinds—especially Kongs, sticks, and tennis balls—and is always ready for a game of fetch or some interactive fun. Harley is ready for a fresh start and can’t wait to find a forever home filled with love, stability, and plenty of playtime. Her adoption fee is $200, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Call our office for adoption details at 815-725-0333. Located in Joliet, IL

Story
This is Luna she’s 5 years old and the sweetest little companion to have. She loves to play ball and adores her bath time. I would say shes energetic and would fit best in a home with a family who is able to give her undivided attention. Especially a household with older kids. She loves to be around people and can get anxious when shes by herself but other than that she’s pretty well behaved. She’s grown up with two cats her entire life and they get along great. Overall she’s a family dog through and through and thrives off of being the center of attention. good with smaller dogs and kids. Highly recommend her going to a home where she can be attended to and or a household with other dogs to keep her company.

Story
Meet Miss Scarlet! ❤️🐾 A must read! Miss Scarlet is a sweet girl with a tender heart and a story that will tug at yours. She recently lost the only dad she ever knew when her owner passed away. His family loved her and wanted the very best for her, but they already had multiple dogs of their own, so they made the brave, loving choice to help Miss Scarlet find the fresh start she deserves. She is the kind of dog who may be shy at first, but give her a little time and she will show you the most beautiful side of herself. Think soft tail wags, gentle check ins, and that quiet “I choose you” kind of love that feels extra special because you earned it. 🥹✨ What we adore about Miss Scarlet: ❤️A sweet but shy girl who blossoms with patience and kindness. 🎓 House trained and has a basic obedience certificate from December 2023. 🐶 Has done very well with her dog neighbors at the rescue. 👧 Best match for a home with older kids who understand giving a new friend a little space at first. 📌 Bringing Your New Family Member Home: 🐾 Adoption Includes: • Age appropriate vaccinations • Spay surgery • Registered microchip • Fecal exam Adoption Fee: $400 🐾 Training: Training sets everyone up for success and helps create a smooth transition at home. A $100 cash training deposit is due at adoption. This deposit is fully refundable with proof of completed training. Hopeful Tails also offers training designed to build real world skills. Our trainers have experience working with dogs of all backgrounds. Classes are held at our rescue. By adopting from Hopeful Tails, you are part of our family!

Story
Bear is 6 years old. His birthday is Feb. 1st 2020. He is so sweet and love and full of energy. He’s been part of our family for 5 years after we adopted him from a dog shelter in NC. He’s been thought multiple cross country moves with us and we’ve tried our hardest to make him always feel loved and appreciated. But after this last cross country move from TX all the way to IL it comes with a heavy heart that we have realized we can no longer show him the love he needs. Bear has a lot of energy and is great with young children but we are just never home since moving to IL. He needs a family that can spend time with him play with him and take him on walks. We are no longer able to do any of that and we feel horrible for it. So if you believe you can love bear and welcome him in your family please take care of him and make him happy again.

Story
Hi everyone my name Lino, short for “Piccolino” which means little guy. I am about 9 weeks old and truly all puppy. I am a well rounded boy, 1 minute I am as sweet as pie... and then the next minute full of puppy energy and ready to play. I do love to lay and cuddle, I love being around my people all the time. I even go as far to follow them where ever they go. I love my foster brother siblings Leo and Cash, they keep me occupied and busy playing. I know I look little but I hold my own playing, Im pretty spunky like that. I'm working on potty training and basic puppy training, its going well but slow. You see i would just prefer play. I have learned how to use this thing that flaps out and it lets me out in the yard to do my business. I have even learned how to climb steps to go upstairs. Lino has his 1st vet appointment with our vet this Friday, so we will have more information to share He has had his 1st round of distemper and deworm and started on prevention If interested in meeting me please email my rescue at rescue@atailof4paws.org or fill out an application from their website Www.atailof4paws.org

Story
Luna is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Lab mix who is quietly stealing hearts. She’s a sweet, gentle, and loyal young dog who is a bit shy at first and needs some time to warm up. Luna didn’t have the best start to her life, but she is learning more every day what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for — and it’s wonderful to watch her confidence grow. Luna is not overly energetic, but she does enjoy playtime and truly loves going for walks on a leash. With how happy and focused she is on walks, she would make an excellent walking or running partner for someone who enjoys getting outside together. She is extremely food motivated (nothing is off limits — even green beans, broccoli, and cucumbers!), which makes training and bonding much easier. Luna does very well during the day while her people are at work or school, and  she often chooses to relax inside the crate on her own. Because so much of the world is still new to her — sounds, people, and experiences — Luna does best with gentle reassurance and patience. Once she knows she’s safe, her sweet personality shines through. She would likely thrive with a younger, playful dog in the home who could help build her confidence and show her the ropes. Luna truly just needs a chance. With a little time and kindness, she warms up within days and becomes a devoted, loving companion. She’s ready for a calm, understanding family who can help her continue discovering the good life she so deserves   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
