FAST FACTS:*1 Year Old - 38 Pounds*Loves Tennis Balls and Belly Rubs*Medium Energy*Kid Friendly*Dog Friendly*Mostly Potty Trained*Crate Trained*Training RequiredBIO:Bonjour! My name is Giselle, and I am a young, playful sweetheart with as beautiful a soul as my supermodel good looks! I enjoy fun and affection in equal measure; my favorite activity is to play fetch with a tennis ball - I love to run after that neon yellow ball and then roll over for a belly rub when I return it to you! I also walk beautifully on a leash would be very happy to be your daily workout buddy. I get along great with other dogs (I adore the other Lab in my foster home), and although I haven't met very young children yet I think I would do well in a family with kiddos. I am mostly potty trained and would appreciate continued patience and guidance while I master this important skill, and I get into my crate with no issues when my foster has to leave the house for a while for work or errands. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I am excited to see how much more I can learn by your side - I am a great listener and people pleaser so I think we will probably be the class valedictorians! What are you waiting for? Hurry up and fill out that adoption application soon so we can start our lifetime of love and play!If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
He was a gift to me, Max is 7 years old. He is a fun loving dog. He does jump on people when he first meets them. He needs a home with a fenced in back yard where he can run and expelled his energy. He loves to play with kids. There is a 4 to autistic child who pulls his tail when he eats. He doesn't even give him a a second thought. Due to the unfortunate accident at work I can no longer afford to take care of him or walk him. My mom is 60 yrs old and she is disabled. He stays mostly in his crate as we don't have the room for him to run around.

***NEW PHOTOS AND VIDEO-- ***Click here for Allie and Poppy's Facebook Album The girls continue to do well in their foster home and are now enjoying daily walks. They really are so sweet and cuddily. Now they even sleep in bed with their foster mom and dad. July 2024: Happy 3 year birthday girls. We never thought it would be this long to find them a forever home, but I have some new insights into what the girls are all about having baby sat them for a week while their wonderful foster parents were on vacation. As I have a houseful of happy dogs, it did take Poppy a bit longer to feel safe. Allie was happy to meet new friends right away. I do think Poppy is a little protective over her little sister. It took the girls a few hours to feel safe with me but Poppy started trusting me a little sooner than Allie. FOOD was very helpful for us becoming friends and if we find an adopter for our bonded sisters, it won't take long for them to trust if yummy cheese and treats are part of the process. I was also happily surprised how the girls figured out our routine of going in and out and feeling safe in a cage. I didn't have any problems soaking down Allie's kibble and I also added some thawed raw food which she loved and which she was able to eat. These girls would be great candidates for a Farmer's Dog food home-- although I really liked giving them both some yummy, healthful raw. After 2 days the girls were comfortable with all my dogs that's when I started taking photos. They were raised with a lot of dogs in Mississippi- but they started getting attacked by the resident pack and that's when we had to move them north. Around day 5 or 6, both girls really felt comfortable with their new friends and went in and out with no issues. At that time I gave them more freedom to hang out with us which made Allie especially happy so that she could go in the toy box. Both girls are affectionate when they are not afraid. Their foster mom and dad have done a great job with cuddles on the couch and taking them on dog walks too. When Allie is happy, she will nibble on your fingers and Poppy LOVES her head rubbed. Poppy also enjoyed being brushed. Our bonded sisters have waited nearly 3 years to find a forever home-- I am hopeful the perfect family is out there. Here is a photo and video album from Allie and Poppy's foster mom and dad. Click on the link. They are doing so well and we are hopeful that the perfect forever home is out there. ***UPDATE DECEMBER 2023*** Allie and Poppy are finally in the Chicago area and safe in foster care. They truly are a bonded pair of sisters and are doing great in foster care. We are looking for a loving family of adults only so help them continue to learn about unconditional love. They are very sweet once they feel safe and are often found cuddling on the couch with their foster dad. As both were recently diagnosed with tick borne disease, treatment is going well. It's just a nightmare in Mississippi with ticks being around all year long. At least we know and we are always transparent with all our adopters if this is a health concern. Our girls have been through so much to get here, we hope we can find them the most perfect loving home. Allie and Abby are a bonded pair of sisters. Abby aka Poppy is in good health and was the best companion to little Allie who needed major surgery to save her life. This is all documented in their Facebook album. Their mom and 2 brothers have moved to Illinois, and we are hopeful we can find a loving family in the Chicago area that can continue to help Allie with her moistened food regimen now that her surgery is over. The girls are best buddies and love to snuggle and cuddle together. They have lived a sheltered life on a Mississippi farm so it might take them a little time to adjust to suburban living- the city would be too much for them. The perfect home will have a family with older kids and perhaps another dog they can build confidence with. The perfect home will also have a safe traditionally fenced in yard- no invisible fences. August 2021: Allie, Artie, Albert and Abby are 6 month old Super Mutts that are in need of foster or Foster to Adopt homes in the Chicago area. Their mom is a Mississippi mixed breed that suffered neglect and will need heartworm treatment. Her 4 surviving pups are doing well. Story
Sweet Lilly is a beautiful, adult brindle mix who has a lot going for her! As her name implies, she is a sweet and gentle girl. Although she isn`t one to shower strangers with kisses and may even seem somewhat disinterested when she first meets you, she is very loyal and devoted to people she knows. Once she gets to know you, she will show her love and affection! She likes to be where you are but is not clingy. Inside the home, Sweet Lilly has good manners. She will tell you when she needs to go out, she stays off the furniture, and she does not need to be crated when you leave the house. She would like to be the one and only dog in her home, but she does not act up if she is out and about and sees another dog; she just doesn`t like other dogs in her face. Sweet Lilly is not a whiner or a barker. As far as energy level, Sweet Lilly is calm and laid back but still enjoys a romp in the yard and absolutely lives for playing ball. She loves being outside (especially if someone is throwing a ball for her!), and she prefers yard time to going for walks, so a fenced yard is a requirement for her. Besides playing ball, Lilly enjoys car rides and travels well. A quieter, adults-only home would suit Sweet Lilly best. Loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle her, especially if she is asleep.Sweet Lilly has a very supportive foster mom who is ready to help her transition to her forever home in any way she can! Sweet Lilly also comes with free training sessions to make sure she thrives in her forever home. Please fill out a no-obligation application if you`re interested in getting to know Sweet Lilly better.

Story
Hello, I would like to introduce Darcy. Darcy is a very happy and friendly girl. Her tail is always wagging and she seems to smile at everyone. Darcy is housebroken, gentle, loyal, and good with people of all ages. She loves mealtime and will even do a happy little tap dance for you. She Aldi knows “sit” and “down.” She loves to run back and forth in the backyard to “keep watch” and will inform you if there are any other dogs in the area. She would do best as the only dog in the house, as she is dog reactive. She enjoys walks and snuggles, and can be left out without trouble. We do not crate her at night or when we leave the house, and she enjoys her quiet time laying in her bed. Darcy loves to sunbathe and feel the wind in her hair. Overall Darcy is a great dog, with a very manageable energy level, who is adaptable and lovable. We love Darcy, and think she is an incredible dog.
