Story
Meet chunky Monkey! He is being fostered through ActNow! Rescue. He and his family were dumped at a farm in Francois County at just a few weeks old. During that time his momma fought hard to keep her pups safe from coyotes and other predators. Thankfully I found out about them through a kind woman and brought them home. Chunky Monkey didn’t live up to his name then. He was full of fleas, ticks and worms. Super skinny and very nervous of everyone. Fast forward to now…. Chunky Monkey is FOUR months old and fully recovered. He loves to sleep on foster mom’s lap after he has ran around the yard. He’s quite the love bug! Chunky Monkey is neutered, up to date with shots and doing great on housebreaking. He is a Labrador Retriever mix and as his pics show… a very handsome boy. All he needs is a home, could that be with you? You will not find a sweeter, more loving puppy. Please contact his foster mom with any questions at kathysemail16@gmail.com Applications can be filled out at actnowrescue.net

Story
Most of you may already know me, my name is Honey!  I’m a pretty big deal around Needy Paws, quite well known!  I came up from southern Missouri with my ten puppies. Unfortunately I became very, very sick and almost lost my life!  I’m a mature girl, and far too old to be a momma.  I would definitely be more aged as a grandma.  The vet says I’m probably 10 years old, and have had a hard life.  You can say that again, 10 babies at 10 years old, is hard on the body!  I developed gangrene mastitis after suffering from a heat stroke, I was so ill I could no longer move!   With a great medical team, and the TLC from my foster momma, I have made a full recovery! I lost most of my mammary glands and my belly now looks like a road map, but what a story to tell with my scars!   I am told I’m the perfect dog!  Despite being in incredible pain, I rolled with flow, Daily bandage changes and trips to the vet!   I am quite spoiled and my foster mom says only the best for me!  I learned how great McDonalds cheeseburgers tasted after our vet visits!  I enjoy riding in the car!  I do not know a stranger- I soak up all the love and pets from everyone!  I like my dog friends I’ve made!  I enjoy going for walks when it’s not blazing hot.  I sleep in my foster moms bed most of the time and love to cuddle! I have incredible house manners and never potty in the house.   My foster momma says this is a bittersweet time for her!  Exciting that I made a full recovery and have a zest for life, yet she and I are thick as thieves!  She told me I deserve to be the queen of a castle and get an opportunity to be someone’s number 1! If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
