Story
🐶Meet Reba: Your New Best Friend🐶 Reba is a vibrant, young mama, just around 1 year old, who has had quite the journey. After coming from the South with her litter of puppies, she's now ready to find her forever family. Reba and her two sisters, Ruby and Robin, were left to wander the streets of Arkansas, where they faced the challenges of pregnancy and heartworm disease. But Reba's story is one of resilience—she’s raised her puppies, undergone treatment for heartworm, and is now eagerly awaiting her next chapter. A Perfect Mix of Play and Relaxation Reba's personality is a delightful blend of energy and calm. She loves nothing more than to run, play, and bask in the sun, but she also knows how to unwind and enjoy some downtime. Whether it’s chasing after a squeaky ball or snuggling up for a cozy nap, Reba is always up for whatever the day brings. A Well-Mannered Companion Reba is both potty trained and crate trained, making her a breeze to integrate into any household. She’s a quick learner who follows directions well, and her sweet nature means she gets along wonderfully with kids, other dogs, and even cats (though she might enjoy a playful chase now and then). Quirks and Charms One of Reba’s favorite games is fetch, but don’t be surprised if she turns it into a game of keep-away—she just loves to keep the fun going! Having come from a background where food was scarce, Reba might be tempted to counter surf, but she quickly learned her boundaries and responds well to a firm “Reba NO.” She’s a girl who aims to please and feels genuinely remorseful when she’s caught in a playful act of mischief. A Heart Full of Love Reba is incredibly affectionate and thrives on being close to her family. She’s a loyal companion who just wants to be loved and give love in return. If she picks up something that’s not hers, a gentle reminder is all it takes to have her sheepishly drop it, knowing she wants to be the good girl she is. Reba is ready to bring joy, love, and a touch of playful energy to her forever home. Kourtney Female 36lbs ~7-8 months Terrier / Hound/ Lab...a true mixed breed! This is Kourtney! She is the sweetest most snuggly little girl. She is a little bit skittish towards new humans but once she gets to know you she is glued to your side. As soon as you get home or sit down she wants to be right there with you. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to run around and play with them. She is also happy to just hang out inside and play with her toys/nap. She is still young and is working on learning how the world works. She is almost house broken and doesn’t have any issues as long as she stays on a regular schedule. She does great in the crate while away. She still needs some work on the leash but seems to be very food motivated and is getting better day by day. She will make the most amazing addition to someone’s family. She would probably do best in a home that has another dog to help make her feel comfortable. Story
Meet Samuel - The Sweetest, Snuggliest Black Lab Mix! Samuel, also known as Sammy, is a 5-month-old, 40-pound bundle of love who came to Illinois after a rough start in Tennessee. This boy has blossomed beautifully in his foster home and is ready to find a family to love forever! Here’s what makes Sammy so special: Loves All Humans: Initially a bit timid around men, Sammy has come to adore every single person he meets! After a quick sniff, he’s ready for all the cuddles, kisses, and love you’re willing to give. Be warned – he’ll steal your heart and keep it! Quick Learner: Sammy has mastered “sit” with a little treat motivation and is eager to learn more. His intelligence and curiosity make training a breeze! Great Walker: This curious pup loves exploring the world on his walks, pausing to sniff each blade of grass and greet every stranger. He’s gentle on the leash and enjoys the journey. Tug-of-War Enthusiast: Sammy is slowly becoming a tug-of-war pro! His playful side is shining through, and he loves a good game. Potty Training Champion: Sammy is nearly fully potty trained and doing fantastic. With just a little more consistency, he’ll be all set. Snuggle Master: If you’re looking for a loyal companion to keep you warm at night, Sammy’s your guy. Just a heads-up—he snores! Not a Fan of the Crate: Due to past confinement, Sammy feels uneasy about crating. But he’s incredibly well-behaved outside of it, sleeping soundly through the night without accidents. If crated when his foster leaves, he’ll settle down after a bit and snooze until you’re back. Velcro Pup: Sammy adores his foster mom and follows her everywhere. He’s a true shadow who’ll stay close by, showering you with love and affection. If you want a devoted buddy who’ll always have your back, Sammy’s your perfect match. Sammy isn’t around other pets in his foster home, but is calm and friendly when meeting dogs on walks or through the neighbor’s fence. He’s excited to see other pups and has shown no signs of aggression. If you’re ready for a loving, loyal, and playful addition to your family, Sammy is ready to fill your life with joy! Story
Meet Sebastian—a 4.5-month-old Lab mix with a heart as big as his whopping 45 pounds! This sweet boy is full of life and energy, with a silky black coat and a goofy personality that will win you over in no time. Sebastian has had quite a journey—he and his two siblings were brought to Illinois after being bred to be sold at a flea market! They were rescued from that terrible situation and now Sebastian is ready to find his forever home! Sebastian loves to explore and play with his toys, but most of all, he loves being around people. He’s a huge people person, always seeking attention and affection from his humans. While he enjoys playing outside with his foster siblings, it doesn’t take long before he’s back at the door, eager to be inside with his favorite humans. This lovable boy is very smart and is picking up his basic commands. He has go “sit” down and is working on “wait” and “down”. With continued training, he will master these and more in no time. He is eager to please and loves the praise he receives when learning. He is not a big fan of his crate. This is because he and his 2 siblings were kept in an extremely small area with no room to turn around. He felt trapped in that situation but has learned that a crate is different, it’s his den and his safe place when his humans aren’t home. It helps that he gets a special frozen Kong toy when he needs to be in the crate. He understands that when the crate is covered, then it’s time to go to bed/sleep but he appreciates that his foster family sleeps in the same room with him Sebastian's ideal home would have another dog to play with and a family who are eager to work with him to continue his training. He has so much love and fun to offer in return. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, and eager-to-please pup, Sebastian could be the perfect fit for your family. Say hello to Marty, a white and tan lab mix with a heart full of love-especially for other dogs! Marty's confidence truly shines when he's with his canine friends, so he's looking for a home with existing dogs who can help him feel right at home. His playful and sweet personality comes alive when he's surrounded by his furry companions. Marty is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to soak up the sun, take in the smells, lay in a kiddie pool, and enjoy short nature walks. He's still working on his leash manners, but with a little patience, he'll be a great walking buddy. When it comes to people, Marty prefers to keep his circle small. But once you're in, you've got a loyal friend for life. He loves to sit next to you, soaking in a few gentle pets and enjoys the simple pleasures of a quiet life. Marty would thrive best in a calm, peaceful home where he can relax and be himself. If you have a quiet home with other dogs and are looking for a gentle soul to join your family, Marty could be the perfect addition to your family. Are you ready to help Marty find his forever home? Meet Toby, The all-American dog with a heart as big as his hound nose! Toby's idea of a perfect day involves taking in all the outdoor smells, whether it's during his regular Paws in the Park training class or a Doggie Day Out with volunteers. He's a big fan of car rides, splashing in the Fox River, and, of course, chasing squirrels. After a hard day's work, nothing beats a pup cup treat! Toby is a big boy who loves his space, so he'd do best in a home with plenty of room to stretch out. He's also a strong, independent pup who enjoys being in charge of his daily activities-meaning he'll thrive as the only animal in the house. Toby's got his basic cues down, is house-trained, and in his previous home, he was trusted to roam freely while left alone. If you're ready to give Toby the space and love he deserves, he's ready to be your new buddy! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at the time of adoption! We asked Autumn to promise she will share the secret to her luscious ear locks with her forever family, and she agreed to do so only if they will offer a comfy lap for her in return. If you are interested to learn Autumn's secrets, keep reading :) In addition to having great hair, Autumn is a lovely combination of Golden Retriever and Miniature Poodle. She is 6 months old and weighs about 10 pounds. Though she is shy, she is great with other dogs, children, and adults! Autumn's foster home is her first experience as a family pet, and she's still getting the hang of things. Because of this, her adopter will need to be patient as she comes out of her shell! She'd love to join a home with another confident dog who can help her along the way, though with time, she'll also be happy on her own. She's working on crate and potty training and making good progress! Autumn is a chill girl with a bright future. Help us make her dreams of a forever home a reality - apply to meet her!
