Story
Name: Beth Age: 4 years Breed: Labrador Retriever Size: 77 lbs Special Needs: Heartworm positive Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Beth is a 4-year-old Labrador through and through. She’s the kind of dog that was born for sunshine, muddy paws, and riding shotgun in the truck with the windows down. If there’s water nearby, you can bet Beth’s already in it. A puddle, a pond, a kiddie pool — she’s not picky. She’s potty trained and has been a happy, easygoing girl while she’s been with us. Beth is the kind of dog that just enjoys life. Toss her a toy, take her outside, or let her splash around for a while and she’s one happy lab. She’s got that classic lab spirit — always ready for a little fun and whatever the day might bring. Beth did test positive for heartworms, which isn’t uncommon for outdoor-loving dogs around here that aren’t protected properly. With the proper treatment Beth can live out the rest of her life happy and healthy. Beth is ready to find a home where she can get back to the good stuff — sunshine, water, and a family who doesn’t mind a little mud getting tracked in every now and then. If you’re looking for a good, honest lab that’s just happy to be along for the ride, Beth might be your girl. ****LOCATED IN MISSISSIPPI - TRANSPORT UPON ADOPTION***** Beth's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. Story
Name: Gary Age: 8 years Breed: Labrador Retriever Size: 60.4 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Gary is a very sweet family friendly pet with a calm, loving disposition. He craves human interaction and walks at the heel with or without a leash. In fact, he is excellent on a leash and does not pull at all. He knows some basic obedience commands such as "Sit", "Stay", "Come", "No", "Inside", and "Outside'. He enjoys human company and would be best in the home of a retiree or someone who works from home. Gary's favorite places are in his beds next to the fireplace or by an office desk, or in the sun on the patio. He does not like being left alone for long periods of time. He does not bark unless prompted by a stranger on property, left alone or if he is trying to warn you that he needs to be taken outside to potty. Gary does not climb on furniture or steal food from tabletops. He does not have a typical retriever appetite, and usually eats 10 ounces of dry dog food twice a day. His coat is also unlike most retrievers in that his hair is thinner and shorter resulting in significantly less shedding and coat maintenance. He does well with housetraining with frequent walks and attention to his behavior that signals a need to go outside. Gary appears to like other dogs, but deserves a family or owner that will give him attention and return his loving affection. ****LOCATED IN MISSISSIPPI - TRANSPORT UPON ADOPTION***** Gary's $350 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you.
