Story
Lucy is a very sweet 8-year-old smart Lab/Retriever Mix. She was rescued from the humane society in Sandpoint, ID at 12 weeks old. She joined two cats I had at the time and did amazing. She loves all her cats and would do well in a home with other cats. She is definitely the alpha of the house and did open up to the idea of having another dog in the home. Before the other dog was rescued, Lucy was introduced to him and decided he would be a good little brother. If other dogs would be in the home, it would be a good idea for Lucy to meet them first to see if they would get along. Lucy loves to play fetch and will do anything for her food/treat. She is kennel trained and feels it is a safe place for her. She hates fireworks and thunderstorms and will find the closet in the home to hide when these occur. She loves to sleep in bed with the humans. She does not do well off leash; however, I think with some training she would improve. She would do great with a fenced yard.

Story
Balu is 5 years old and was adopted at the Kootenai Human Society when he was 10 months old. He was named after the big bear on Jungle Book. He is very sweet and eager to please his owner. He joined 4 cats and another dog. Balu loves his blankets and loves to suckle on them when he is relaxing inside. His house has a fenced in yard. He does great on walks; however, he has not been walked regularly recently and would need some re-training in this area as well as with some commands. He does not do good off leash without a fence. He does not play fetch very well as he never brings back the ball. He would love to sleep in bed with you, however he can get loud with his snoring. The best home for Balu would be a with another bigger dog that he could play with. His sister currently does not like to play, and he has been desperate to play with another dog. I think younger owner(s) would be best. I think with a little patience and love he will get back to his routine.

**DOG NOT AT KHS - CONTACT FOSTER - NUMBER BELOW**Only rarely does one encounter someone who always exudes positive energy and happiness. If you are looking for that sweet little ray of sunshine, meet Sir Wigglesworth, known to his friends as Wiggles. He is 3 years old and approx. 65lb. Being a rescue, his lineage is unknown, but he appears to be a Boston/Lab mix. He is the ray of sunshine that brightens up even the cloudiest day for those around him.Wiggles is intelligent, energetic, sweet and a super happy dog. He is trained to walk on a leash and on a treadmill. He is potty trained, kennel trained and knows all the basic commands. He loves to fetch a ball and is very good at it. He even taught himself how to play fetch alone by flinging his ball down the hill so he could chase it!Wiggles needs a clear line for rules and boundaries. Like every intelligent dog, he needs lots of engagement and interaction.Wiggles gets along with men, but absolutely loves women. He needs a home with NO cats or small children. He would do best in a home where he is not left kenneled for more than 4-6hrs at a time. He is very good in his kennel but if he stays in there too long he needs a lot more enrichment when he comes out or he will get frustrated.Wiggles gets along with most other dogs with supervision and guidance until they get to know each other . He would do best with a female dog of a similar size. Smaller or larger dogs might be OK with more introduction. He needs a tall fenced yard for safety and to get the zoomies out. He can easily jump over a 4 feet so a 6 foot fence is recommended. In general he isn’t a runner but occasionally will hop over a boundary when distracted by something on the other side. His person would need to like training. Wiggles loves to learn new things and does best when he is challenged mentally. He is quite the sprinter so would be good at Flyball or agility. Once he knows you, he is affectionate and always looks for kisses and loves being close. He is currently being boarded in a volunteer`s home. He was returned after a year due to a change in life circumstances for the previous owner. Londa 208 651-4806.

Story
Hi, my name is Spooky! I was brought in by my local Animal Control with my friend Cricket. My history is a mystery and my friends are still getting to know me. They don`t know how I do with kids or cats but I do very well with other dogs, although I am touchy with how I do with some female dogs. I am a very energetic puppy and I`ll need someone to teach me a few things but I am a very outgoing dog and I love to make friends and explore as much as I can. I will need to have a way to get rid of all of my energy everyday so please give me a nice backyard! I am so excited to learn who I get to spend furever with! Please make sure that you have the proper time space and resources to care for me for the rest of my life.

Hi I`m Dave! I was brought in through my Local Animal Control so my history is a mystery and my friends here don`t know how I do with other animals or small children yet. I don`t seem to mind other dogs too much. I am a bit nervous but I am still working hard to get to know my new friends here. When they know more about me they will let you know!

Story
Hi, I`m Zelda! I`m a big, strong, and beautiful girl who loves being outside and spending time with my humans. I’m not sure how I’ll do with cats or small kids, but I’ve done great with every dog I’ve met so far! When I arrived at CAC, I had some skin issues, but my awesome new friends are helping me get healthy and grow my hair back. If you`re thinking about bringing me home, please make sure you have the time, space, and patience to give me the love I need!

Story
Hi, I`m Elsa and I was dropped off by the local animal control so my history is a mystery. My friends here at CAC have found out I love to hangout with the cats and dogs in the shelter. I also do get along with little kids, basically I`m the prefect pup for anybody. I would love to have a family that will take me on walks or run around the yard with me. I am the sweetest girl, but I do have the weirdest bark when I get super happy. If you are the perfect person for me make sure you have the time and resources for me!
