Story
We adopted Charlie Bear from the pound. We don't know what his history is, but we do know that he is a great dog. Because of his size (125 lbs), he seems intimidating. But he's a big softie. He loves to play, is very food motivated, and great with dogs, cats, and kids. Ideally he would need a big yard, where he can explore and play. He needs leash training, due to his size, we were unsuccessful in that area. But with patience and more knowledge, he would do great. He's very loving, and has a huge personality. He loves stuffed animals, but will destroy them quickly lol. Keep-away is his favorite game. We are moving to an apartment 2500 miles away, and he would not do well being so contained, without a yard to play in. He deserves a loving home with someone who would be able to devote time and energy to match his.

Story
Buster is a bundle of joy and energy, wrapped in a furry, 14 & 1/2 month-old package. His infectious enthusiasm for life is sure to bring a smile to your face every day. He's a high-energy pup who loves to play and explore, making him the perfect companion for an active family. One of Buster's most endearing qualities is his love for other dogs. He's a social butterfly and enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes. He's been especially good with small dogs, but we're not sure how he is with cats, so a cat-free environment may be best for now. Buster is making great progress with potty training. As long as you stick to a consistent schedule, he's likely to continue improving. Patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping him master this skill. Behind his high-energy exterior, Buster is a true sweetheart. He craves human affection and will eagerly shower you with kisses and cuddles. Get ready for a loyal and loving companion. Buster is a smart pup, but his high energy can sometimes get the best of him. He'll benefit from patient, consistent training to help him channel his exuberance in a positive way. A structured training regimen will help him become the best furry friend he can be. Buster is already crate trained, which is a big plus. It provides him with a secure space and can aid in his training. He also loves mental games. Buster loves to be on the move, whether it's going for long walks, playing fetch, or exploring the great outdoors. His energy level is boundless, so an active household or someone who loves outdoor activities would be a perfect match. While Buster enjoys the company of children at dog parks, he might be better suited for older kids who can match his energy and playfulness. Buster is looking for a forever home that can provide him with the love, attention, and exercise he needs to thrive. If you're an active individual or family who's willing to invest time in his training and enjoy his boundless affection, Buster may be the perfect addition to your home. We don't know his breeds but the search engine forces us to make a choice and since he acts like a Lab mix we marked him as such. If you’re interested in Buster, please I’ll out the pre-adoption application at https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue

Story
Tiffani is the perfect package of sweetness, smarts, and playfulness! This lovable girl is as well-rounded as they come and is looking for her forever family to shower with love and loyalty. Tiffani is a friend to everyone—she's fantastic with other dogs and would fit right into a multi-pet home. She’s also great with kids, making her an ideal family dog. With her gentle spirit and playful energy, she knows how to keep everyone entertained while also being incredibly affectionate. When it comes to manners, Tiffani is top-notch! She’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. Her intelligence shines through, and she’s always up for learning new tricks or playing with any toy she can find (and she loves them all!). And did we mention her smile? Tiffani has the absolute best grin, which she’ll flash at you anytime she's in her happy place—which, for her, is almost all the time! If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a playful spirit, Tiffani is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and endless smiles.  If she's such a good dog, then why hasn't she been adopted yet? Have you ever heard of "black dog syndrome"?  Black Dog Syndrome is a phenomenon where black dogs, especially larger ones, are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, resulting in longer stays and lower adoption rates compared to lighter-colored dogs. By adopting a black dog, you’re not only gaining a devoted pet—you’re breaking stereotypes and saving a life! Tiffani is a well balanced dog that would fit seamlessly into just about any home but her black coat has put her at the bottom of the adoption pool. Look at her smile, look at her energy, look at the love in her eyes... she will be the perfect companion for someone, black fur and all! To add Tiffani to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2137220##

Story
Meet Kelley – A Heart of Gold Name: Kelley Age: 2.5 years Breed: Labrador retriever/staffordshire terrier mix Health Status: Heartworm positive (treatment provided) About Kelley: Meet Kelley, a gentle and loving 2.5-year-old dog who has a story that will tug at your heartstrings. Kelley was found camping out at an abandoned hospital with her "boyfriend" and around 40 other dogs. When the demolition crew noticed she was pregnant, they compassionately set aside a safe area for her to give birth. Tragically, before rescue crews could reach her, a severe storm hit Houston, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of all but one of her puppies. Despite this trauma, Kelley remains a sweet and loving soul. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly to those who show her kindness. Her nurturing instincts shine through, and her gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. Personality: Kelley is a true sweetheart. While she may be a bit shy initially, she is incredibly loving and thrives on affection. She is okay in a crate and has shown that she can adapt well to a home environment. Her kind demeanor makes her a great match for families or individuals who are willing to provide her with a little time to come out of her shell. Health and Recovery: Kelley is heartworm positive, but with the support of our rescue, she will receive the necessary treatment to help her recover. With your love and care, she can look forward to a bright, healthy future. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite.  When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  If you’re looking to open your heart to a dog who has already shown incredible resilience, Kelley is waiting for you! She deserves a loving forever home where she can feel safe and cherished.  To add Kelley to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle lab/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home. Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M JOHNNY, a 10-year-old lab mix waiting for a foster or forever home. Do you need a best friend? Because I'm looking for one! My ideal adopter is a single person who wants a companion, a pal for hanging out, walks, hikes, watching TV, car rides, napping. I love to play fetch, and I listen to basic commands. I tend to bond to one person who will be my soulmate. I love scratches and affection! I get bored if left alone too long, so best not to leave me out in the backyard for hours. I get along with some dogs, but I really want to be the top dog in the home with one person by my side. I'm still in great health and I'm basically looking for my forever pal to go for walks, hikes or simply watch TV. I weigh about 70 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email me for an application.

Story
MEET HOLT! Holt is an almost 2-year-old Black Lab mix (possibly part pit), in need of a foster or forever home. He is a good, happy boy who is full of life, and still a puppy at heart. He is dog friendly, people friendly and affectionate! He is loyal, gentle and smart! While he loves companionship, he also can be independent and dignified. Holt needs an active person or people as he's quite athletic and will benefit from regular exercise, like walks, hikes or runs. He pulls a bit on a leash but is easily corrected. He is a sweet boy, and weighs between 60 and 70 lbs approximately. Please email for an application.

Story
WOOF - MEET TEAK! Teak is a young and energetic red lab/pit mix in need of a foster or forever home! On paper he's 2 years old, but we think he's just a pup, around 1-1/2. Teak is an 80-pound happy boy who will benefit from some basic training and commands. He's a smart learner, and he needs someone who would love to help him transform into the best dog ever! He is learning slowly to walk on a leash, as nobody ever taught him before, so would do well with someone who has a backyard and room to run, while he gets up to speed. Teak was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, and was one lucky boy to get saved. He's a handsome dog, and is always happy to see his person. He would also do well with an active person or people who can take him for hikes and other outings. Please email for an application.

Story
Great dogs that are great with children and other pets. Watson is 7 and Messi is 4. Both are very friendly and well behaved. Messi is a little more energetic if I’m being honest as he is half lab/half border collie, in a good way. Would be ideal if someone could take both as they have been together for four years. Looking to rehome only because my wife has developed severe allergies and my youngest son is very allergic as well.

These pups are in Boise, Idaho too!

Story
Meet Mary Ann and Ginger, an adorable bonded pair of medium-sized rescue dogs who are searching for their forever home. These super cute girls have spent their entire lives on their own until they were recently rescued. Despite their rough beginnings, Mary Ann and Ginger are incredibly sweet and are now learning to enjoy the comforts of a loving home. Both Mary Ann and Ginger get along wonderfully with other dogs, though they haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time and space they need to adjust to their new surroundings and discover the joys of being cherished pets. Ginger, who bravely underwent heartworm treatment, is now healthy and heartworm negative. Both dogs are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on preventatives. They even tolerate baths and absolutely love being petted. Currently, Mary Ann and Ginger are being fostered in Seguin, TX, where they are receiving the care and love they deserve. If you have a kind heart and a gentle hand, these two sweethearts will surely reward you with endless affection and loyalty. Adopt Mary Ann and Ginger and give them the loving home they've always dreamed of.
