Story
Miley is an adventuresome little girl. Miley is a 6-month-old black lab that was found with her brother & sister out on the highway. Miley is a sweet girl ready for the fearless adventurer who is ready to go and keep her busy. Miley loves to chase anything moving, swim, run, go on walks, play with her toys, dig and she is a heavy chewer. You have to keep Ms. Miley busy she loves to dig and chew and is always on the move. She will be the 1 following the toddler around the house playing with their toys. She loves children and other pets that she has interacted with on walks & 1 that visits daily (an older girl lab). She spends most of her time playing in a big yard with her little brother. But when she comes in the house from playing she loves her sleepy music to wind down and take a long nap. She is a cuddler for sure, she would love for nothing more than someone who will rub her belly to sleep or to sit & watch tv with you. She needs a loving home to call her own.

Story
***Rudolph is currently located at our rescue in Georgia but also available for adoption in the New Jersey and surrounding areas. If interested in adopting Rudoplh, please submit an application at socorescue.co. A team member will contact you ASAP if your app is approved to adopt Rudolph.*** Rudolph originally came to SoCo as a very young puppy after being found discarded, with his eight siblings, in a box along a lonely stretch of road.  Rudolph is a fun, active and playful boy who also enjoys playing with other dogs. He's loves attention and is affectionate.  He is sometimes nervous when meeting new people but if you ignore him and give him time to warm up, he be your best buddy ever! Rudolph was briefly adopted by a family new to dogs with young children. Unfortunately, he was not a good fit and had to come back to SoCo.  It's possible that the level of energy unsettling to Rudolph.  He also was not neutered.  Since being back at the rescue, he has been neutered and the staff say he is a friendly fellow.  He has been kenneled with other dogs and plays well with others! We are thinking that Rudy would do better in a home without small  children and an experienced dog owner.  He is food motivated and seems to learn quickly.  With the right person, he will be a wonderful companion.  He could be a good second dog but a meet and greet would be important to establish compatibility.   Rudolph has been neutered, is up to date on all of his annual vaccinations, been de-wormed and kept on his monthly preventatives. He did display very good house training ability at his former home but may need a refresher course once adopted. A microchip will accompany his adoption. If interested in adopting Rudolph, please submit an application at socorescue.com (no need to register or login).   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 1:46 pm

Story
***Dolly is currently located at our Georgia facility but also available for adoption in the New Jersey and surrounding areas. Questions about Dolly and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com. To submit an application for the adoption of Dolly, please visit our web page at socorescue.com (no need to register or login) or click on the following link:https://www.socorescue.com/forms/form?formid=1628 Dolly, her mom and two brothers were all found as strays. The family that found them had other dogs and decided to keep one of Dolly's brothers, but gladly surrendered the others to our rescue. Dolly was about 3 months old at the time, flea infested and a bit underweight. We took the trio of dogs into our care and initially placed them into a foster home, but have since brought him to our rescue. We provided them all with the love and care that each needed and saw a rapid improvement to their health.  Dolly was the larger of the three pups and no doubt the alpha. She is very friendly and playful but does tend to boss her brother, Danny, around. She should be fine around other dogs and she is already very playful and affectionate around people. She seems to be highly intelligent and should pick up rather quickly on any training that her adopter gives to her. She'll make a great family companion, even with children who know how to properly treat a dog.  Dolly has been spayed, received an update on her annual vaccinations; de-wormed and treated against parasites and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. She will need all of her basic training. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 1:46 pm

Story
***Apollo is currently at our facility in Georgia but also available for adoption in the New Jersey and surrounding areas. To apply for adoption, please submit an application at socorescue.com. Questions about Apollo and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please no phone calls. If approved to adopt, a SoCo team member will contact you ASAP.** Back in 2021, a (now former) SoCo staff member found a young  male Lab mix wandering the streets. The former staff member agreed to foster this dog and help nurse him back to health as he was undernourished at the time. From his first day with the staff  this very friendly, very attentive fellow became a bright spot in the lives of everyone he met. Because of his very pleasant and uplifting personality, he was given the name of the mythical god of song, poetry and a number of other positive aspects of life: "Apollo"! Apollo has continued with his wonderful personality during his time at SoCo Rescue. We have no idea what his former life was truly like, but with his knowledge of basic commands it's obvious that someone once took time to train him, that he was once someone's companion and best friend. He has been excellent with other dogs and people of all ages and will make a great family companion.  Upon his arrival, Apollo immediately received and has been kept up-to-date on all of his annual vaccinations and de-wormings,  monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives and other needed vet care. He's also been neutered. Apollo initially tested "light" positive for heartworms. We elected to use the "Slow Kill" method of treating his heartworms, which resulted in a Negative test results on Nov. 20, 2023. Apollo has displayed some house-training ability, but his adopter should be prepared to offer additional training. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 1:46 pm

Story
***Number 3 is currently with a loving foster family near Pennington, NJ. Applications for his adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com. Questions about Number 3 and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com (no calls please).*** Number 3 is doing great in his foster home. He can be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly and gets along with everyone, the other dogs and even the cats.  His gentle and playful personality melt the hearts of everyone he meets!  He will do great in an active home with love to give.  Email socorescue8@gmail for a meet and greet or come to our next adotion event to meet Number 3!While driving home from an adoption event in New Jersey, Scott Bennett came across two stray dogs that had become trapped in the media of I-95 in South Carolina. After not receiving much help from the local animal control and spending 7 hours sitting in the marsh-like conditions of the median,  Scott was able to catch both dogs, one being a young, pregnant Lab mix. On May 31, 2023, Scott got to witness the birth of Number 3 and his two brothers, now known as Number 1 and Bridger. If you follow our Facebook page, you can read more about the incredible rescue of Number 3 and the rest of his family. Number 3 got his name since he was the third and final of the three pups born. Besides being an extremely handsome pup, he's also very smart and picks up on commands rather quickly. He's also going to be a very large dog once fully grown, already pushing 40 lbs at just under 7 months old. While he may act a little shy at first, Number 3 quickly opens up and shows that he's well socialized towards people. He loves to play with other dogs and will make an excellent companion for just about anyone. He does need additional training and has a lot of that 'puppy' energy, so caution should be used if there will be small children in the home.  Number 3 has now received all three of his first year 'puppy' vaccines, his Bordetella and rabies vaccinations, de-wormed on proper intervals as well as being neutered. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 1:46 pm

Story
Travis is currently in GA but will be on his Freedom Ride to NJ with an approved application.  When a former SoCo staff member heard about a litter of stray pups that needed help, she offered to take the pups in and provide care for them. During their time with this woman, they were started on their required basic care of being de-wormed, receiving their vaccinations and other preventative care. Once space opened up at our rescue, all nine pups from this litter were then transferred to our facility. Financial restraints and other issues beyond our control prohibited us from getting the entire litter ready for adoption sooner, as we had hoped. But now, the first three, Tootsie, Tiffany and Travis, are now available for adoption.   Travis is neutered & up to date on vaccines, preventatives and will come with a microchip too. If interested in meeting, fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com (no need to login).   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 1:46 pm
