Story
Hello there, I'm Scraggles, the tennis ball fetch champion of the world! My favorite stunt is a backflip while catching the ball midair and hitting a perfect landing. I have been at the shelter for over 3 years waiting for my forever home. I am a scruffy, 5 year-old Labrador / Patterdale Terrier mix who weighs 50lbs. I need a home with a yard, even just a small yard, so we can play fetch together. I walk great on a leash and enjoy rolling in the grass for belly rubs. I love treats and am incredibly smart so you can teach me many things. I have never been to an agility course, but any athletic activity is right up my alley. Even though I'm athletic, I am a good balance of calm but playful. I am potty trained and keep my kennel very clean. I prefer being friends with female dogs and just need a little time to get to know them. If you want to meet me and play some ball together, please complete an application at abandonedpetrescue.orgFollow the adventures of Scraggles on Instagram: @ScragglesAPRTo meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

Story
Sadie's soulful eyes sometimes show her sadness from losing the only family she knew for 10-years because her owner went to assisted living. Thanks to our wonderful volunteer who are fostering Sadie, she is starting to enjoy her favorite things like car rides, walks, snacks and finding the stuffing in a toy! This loyal girl is on the lookout for a new forever home where she can once again offer her love and companionship. Sadie loves to talk when she's excited, especially when it's time for food or play! She would make an great companion for someone looking for an easy going girl that is friendly with kids and other calm dogs. Besides having arthritis, Sadie got a great health report from the veterinarian. If Sadie may be your perfect match, complete an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.orgTo meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

Story
Meet Branch! A playful one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Woodstock, GA, whose youthful energy is wrapped in a beautiful tan coat. This affectionate boy is ready to be your loyal companion, with a love for walks, chasing tennis balls, and curling up next to you for some well-deserved snuggles! At seventy-eight pounds, Branch is a large dog who adores being part of the action, whether it’s playing fetch or simply keeping you company around the house. Branch is a bright pup, and though he hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, he’s already mastered the basics like sit, stay, and even shake. He’s a quick learner, especially if a treat is involved, and with a little more training, he’d probably be happy to show off more tricks like rolling over! Branch is the kind of dog who thrives on attention and will happily follow you from room to room, just to make sure you’re never lonely (and maybe to see if you’re dropping any tasty snacks). When it comes to other pets, Branch is selective with dogs—he prefers to meet new canine friends slowly and on his terms. However, he’s great with cats, and has a gentle way about him that’s endearing. He’s also wonderful with kids and loves to be part of a lively household, though his playful side means a fenced yard is ideal for him to safely romp around in. Branch is protective of his family and may bark at unfamiliar dogs or people, especially if they startle him, but once he sniffs them out and realizes they’re no threat, he’s happy to relax! He has shown this protective instinct in the past when, after being startled by a neighbor's small dog who barked at him, Branch reacted defensively to protect his space and family. A family that understands his need for a secure environment and a little extra patience during introductions would be perfect. This sweet boy is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations, so he’s all set for his new adventure! Could your family be the perfect match for this lovable, curious, and playful pup? If so, Branch can’t wait to meet you and become your new best friend! Interested in bringing Branch home? Story
Meet Cash! A spirited seven-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix from Woodstock, GA, whose dazzling brown and white coat is as striking as his beaming, one-of-a-kind smile. And yes, he really smiles—his cheeks lift, and the corners of his mouth turn up in a way that will melt your heart every single time! Despite having just three legs, Cash’s zest for life is unmatched. Whether he’s lounging by the pool, trotting along on walks, or enthusiastically “de-fluffing” his toys, Cash is a bundle of energy and love. This 62-pound, loyal companion thrives in the company of his favorite person and is happiest when he can stay by your side, whether it’s during a relaxing evening or after a fun day of exploring. Cash is well-versed in basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” and “lay down,” and he demonstrates excellent manners by waiting for permission before passing through outside doors. While he has made great progress with this, he is still refining this skill. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, he’ll master it in no time! His eagerness to learn makes him highly trainable. In addition, Cash is both crate-trained and house-trained, making him ready to seamlessly transition into a new daily routine. Cash does, however, have specific needs when it comes to his new home. While he’s a sweetheart with people, Cash has shown aggression toward other dogs and has started fights with the dog living in his current home. Because of this, he must be the only pet in the household—no other dogs or cats, please! His ideal pet parent would have experience with dogs, be confident in providing structure, and be comfortable taking on the role of “pack leader” to help Cash feel secure. A fenced yard is a must, as he loves the freedom to stretch his legs and explore his surroundings. Cash’s health is in great shape—he’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go! He does have a sensitive stomach, so his new caregiver should be mindful of his diet. But beyond that, Cash is all set to share his boundless love and energy with a family who can meet his needs and appreciate his quirks. To make sure that Cash has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Are you ready to meet the dog who smiles as big as his heart? If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion who will love you unconditionally and keep you smiling every day, Cash is waiting to meet you! Could this loyal, tripod adventurer be your next best friend? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Cash and how to bring this incredible boy into your life!

Story
Sadie is approximately 9 years old, a lab mix and 58 lbs. Sadie is a very sweet, loving dog.  She likes to play fetch, chew on her bone, cuddle and give kisses.  She does suffer from anxiety though.  She does not like loud noises and prefers the quiet life.  Her family must have a yard, as she’s not fond of long walks.  She prefers to be the center of attention without any human or fur siblings.  If you would like to meet this angel, please call 1-800-511-DOGS.
