Story
**This is a Courtesy Listing - Good Karma Pet Rescue does not have this pet** Onyx is a 7 year-old neutered lab mix, weighing around 50 lbs. He has overcome significant hardships... surviving euthanasia and being found malnourished on the streets in Miami, FL. Onyx has a heart full of love to give. He may take a little time to warm up, but once you gain his trust, he is incredibly sweet and loyal. Onyx is obedient with the commands he knows and is pretty low maintenance. He loves walks and being outside, but he is always down to hang out and get some belly rubs. Onyx would thrive in a home with a yard where he can explore and play. He would do best in a home without young children and with a very submissive dog, if any. No kitties! Onyx deserves a second chance at a forever home. Please consider adopting this handsome fellow! IF YOU'D LIKE TO MEET ONYX, PLEASE CONTACT AMANDA - (516)313-6220

Story
Meet Branch! A playful one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Woodstock, GA, whose youthful energy is wrapped in a beautiful tan coat. This affectionate boy is ready to be your loyal companion, with a love for walks, chasing tennis balls, and curling up next to you for some well-deserved snuggles! At seventy-eight pounds, Branch is a large dog who adores being part of the action, whether it’s playing fetch or simply keeping you company around the house. Branch is a bright pup, and though he hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, he’s already mastered the basics like sit, stay, and even shake. He’s a quick learner, especially if a treat is involved, and with a little more training, he’d probably be happy to show off more tricks like rolling over! Branch is the kind of dog who thrives on attention and will happily follow you from room to room, just to make sure you’re never lonely (and maybe to see if you’re dropping any tasty snacks). When it comes to other pets, Branch is selective with dogs—he prefers to meet new canine friends slowly and on his terms. However, he’s great with cats, and has a gentle way about him that’s endearing. He’s also wonderful with kids and loves to be part of a lively household, though his playful side means a fenced yard is ideal for him to safely romp around in. Branch is protective of his family and may bark at unfamiliar dogs or people, especially if they startle him, but once he sniffs them out and realizes they’re no threat, he’s happy to relax! He has shown this protective instinct in the past when, after being startled by a neighbor's small dog who barked at him, Branch reacted defensively to protect his space and family. A family that understands his need for a secure environment and a little extra patience during introductions would be perfect. This sweet boy is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations, so he’s all set for his new adventure! Could your family be the perfect match for this lovable, curious, and playful pup? If so, Branch can’t wait to meet you and become your new best friend! Interested in bringing Branch home? Story
Meet Cash! A spirited seven-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix from Woodstock, GA, whose dazzling brown and white coat is as striking as his beaming, one-of-a-kind smile. And yes, he really smiles—his cheeks lift, and the corners of his mouth turn up in a way that will melt your heart every single time! Despite having just three legs, Cash’s zest for life is unmatched. Whether he’s lounging by the pool, trotting along on walks, or enthusiastically “de-fluffing” his toys, Cash is a bundle of energy and love. This 62-pound, loyal companion thrives in the company of his favorite person and is happiest when he can stay by your side, whether it’s during a relaxing evening or after a fun day of exploring. Cash is well-versed in basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” and “lay down,” and he demonstrates excellent manners by waiting for permission before passing through outside doors. While he has made great progress with this, he is still refining this skill. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, he’ll master it in no time! His eagerness to learn makes him highly trainable. In addition, Cash is both crate-trained and house-trained, making him ready to seamlessly transition into a new daily routine. Cash does, however, have specific needs when it comes to his new home. While he’s a sweetheart with people, Cash has shown aggression toward other dogs and has started fights with the dog living in his current home. Because of this, he must be the only pet in the household—no other dogs or cats, please! His ideal pet parent would have experience with dogs, be confident in providing structure, and be comfortable taking on the role of “pack leader” to help Cash feel secure. A fenced yard is a must, as he loves the freedom to stretch his legs and explore his surroundings. Cash’s health is in great shape—he’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go! He does have a sensitive stomach, so his new caregiver should be mindful of his diet. But beyond that, Cash is all set to share his boundless love and energy with a family who can meet his needs and appreciate his quirks. To make sure that Cash has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Are you ready to meet the dog who smiles as big as his heart? If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion who will love you unconditionally and keep you smiling every day, Cash is waiting to meet you! Could this loyal, tripod adventurer be your next best friend? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Cash and how to bring this incredible boy into your life!

Story
Meet Hickory! A wise and affectionate eleven-year-old Labrador Retriever/Coonhound mix from Bradenton, FL, whose soulful brown eyes hold a lifetime of love and loyalty. Wrapped in a rich chocolate brown coat with warm tan accents, this medium-sized gentleman (weighing in at a perfect 42 pounds) has mastered the art of companionship, always ready to brighten your day with his gentle presence. Hickory is searching for a new loving home after the heartbreaking loss of his beloved guardian. Hickory may be in his golden years, but don’t let that fool you—he still enjoys a good game of squeeze ball and a satisfying chew on his trusty nylon bone! His energy level is a delightful balance of playful and relaxed, making him the perfect partner for leisurely strolls or cozy afternoons spent by your side. A true people-lover, he greets strangers with friendly curiosity and has a special knack for sensing when you need a little extra comfort. If you’ve had a tough day, Hickory will be right there, offering a soft nuzzle as if to say, “I’ve got you.” This well-mannered pup has a solid foundation in obedience and responds to commands like "place," "here," "off," "sit," and "down." He’s house-trained, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, with just a little extra care needed for his hips—nothing a dose of Gabapentin and supplements can’t handle! While he does best with a fenced yard where he can explore safely, he’s content to simply be where his people are. Hickory is wonderful with young children and even gets along with cats, making him a fantastic addition to a variety of households. When it comes to other dogs, he’s a bit selective—some furry friends are great, while others he prefers to admire from a distance. He’s comfortable being left alone for a few hours but would thrive in a home where love and companionship are in abundance. Just don’t expect him to hop into a crate or tolerate a blow dryer—those are firm "no thank yous" in Hickory’s book! If you're looking for a devoted friend who will be your shadow, your cheerleader, and your most reliable confidant, Hickory is ready to fill that role! Could your home be the new loving place this sweet senior needs? Email adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet him today!
