Story
Captain is an86lb lap dog. Still very much a puppy with puppy energy, but when he calms down, he just wants to cuddle. Captain is about 2 years old and is currently in a pack of 5 dogs. He LOVES his toys but prefers to play with the other dogs. He might not do well with very small children as we are currently working on his jumping. He is a big dog with a big personality. Captain is heartworm positive but will be sent home with 6 months of heartworm treatment. He is up to date on his shots, neutered and microchipped. Captain is the perfect dog for an active person/family who wants to have fun but also wants a cuddle puppy. If I had to sum him up in one word, it would be goofball!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Resident since December 2022Sweetie Pie is a playful doggie that is a joy to watch.  She is a such a sweetheart.   Sweetie Pie does not get along with every dog she meets because she does not like dogs that are aggressive or show an alpha personality.  She would like a dog that is playful and easy going. Sweetie has several dogs at the rescue that she goes out with.  And while at camp she did well with KitKat and Moose.    This energetic cutie that loves her humans so much also needs a 6-foot fenced backyard to allow a safe place for her to play and use up her energy.  Do you garden and plant flowers?   If so, she would be great help as she likes to dig holes for you!!       About Training Camp: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.  We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

He is an overall sweet guy that deserves to finally have a great forever home.   Buddy is a strong dog that needs a dedicated owner that will continue working with him on the training he completed at the GAC.  Training will be easier with this guy because he is very food motivated.  He is not a big fan on being crated but he has become better at going inside and not trying to bolt back out; it just isn't his favorite thing to do.  Buddy like most dogs is not a fan thunder or lightning.  He does not like the sound of squeeky toys or clicking of a camera.  He is picky about going outside if he even feels one little rain drop.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

She would be a great addition for an active family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Lilou is a loving and happy girl!! She loves to be near her people and will greet you with the biggest tail wags and gentle kisses, making every day a little brighter! She loves to sunbathe and  go on slow 10 to 15 minute sniffy walks on the sidewalks a couple of times a day. The rest of the day she enjoys moving from one cozy dog bed to another to keep you company around the house and hang out near you while you work. Lilou has a cerebellar condition which affects her balance, causing her to stumble and fall, but she has gotten much stronger with her exercises, therapy at Florida Veterinary Rehabilitation and her surgery (FHO) back in June. Lilou manages quite well with assistance of a "Help Em Up" harness which she wears during the daytime so that you can support her as needed. Lilou is house-trained, enjoys treats, and occasionally plays with toys.  Lilou would thrive in a home where someone can be with her most of the time, helping her with mobility and enjoying her loving company. We're looking for a special adopter with good balance and upper body strength to assist her as needed. Lilou gets along well with calm dogs and would do best with a gentle canine companion to keep her company when you’re not around. We believe she would do best in an all-adult home or with teens who are respectful of her needs. Her ideal home would be single-story and without an open pool, and with floor surfaces that are not slippery. She does best on carpets with texture and rubber mats (many of which will come with her adoption). We are also trying out booties and non-slip stickers on Lilou's feet to assist her on surfaces that aren't as friendly. Lilou was rescued on the streets of the Bahamas by her hero, Chella, whom many follow on social media. Chella ensured Lilou could come to the US for the care she needed and a chance at the best life. Lilou is a happy and very sweet girl, just looking for her forever home.  If you think you have the perfect home for Lilou and live in Florida, please complete an application and tell us more about your family. She can’t wait to meet you!November 5, 2024, 7:56 am
